DO NOT GET YOUR JEWELRY FIXED HERE. The last TWO times I've been here they have messed up my jewelry. I picked up my ring at 2:50 PM on 02/03. And by 8:00 PM I noticed the prong I had fixed was BROKEN and now my diamond is missing. So because the prong Willis fixed hours prior BROKE, I'm now missing a DIAMOND. Do NOT get your jewelry repaired here!!! I brought in my solitaire diamond (2 ct) in to check the ring to see how my ring was holding up, prongs were getting thin and the diamond was slightly loose. I was told (after 25 years of having the ring without any service) that my prongs needed to be redone, I agreed and they did the repair. After less than a month after the replacement, one of the prongs, they bent! Took it back in and they literally bent the prong back while I was waiting less than 5 minutes. Thought that was odd that it bent in the first place considering they were new, but less then 2 months later prong bent and diamond fell out! Thankfully I found the diamond. Took my ring to a different jeweler (Nasr's in Rockwall to be exact) and they told me that I needed a new basket and that new prongs wouldn't fix the integrity of the ring! Since then I have had no issues!! Will continue to have my jewelry serviced at NASR!! Willis just lost a good customer, my family has purchased several pieces here and no longer will they come back. Also, there is an older woman that works there and she is just plain RUDE!! If you don't dress the part while walking in to this store, they will look down on you! read more

Before insurance ever paid we had established a great relationship with Victor, Mark and the team here. They spent a lot of time in helping us design a new ring that would be as special. If you are in need of jewelry repair, steer clear of Willis Fine Jewelry. I shattered the center stone in my engagement ring, and I went there to have it replaced. In September they gave my insurance company a repair quote. Once Willis had my ring, they tried to add on labor and shipping (their repair shop is in California) and other fees, pretending that hadn't been part of the original quote. I offered to go elsewhere, but they decided to eventually honor their word. I dropped off my ring in November: first fix, they put in an obviously different diamond color/grade. Second fix, they significantly raised up the center stone and added a band around it, altering the ring completely without consulting me. First, they said they would fix it right away. They then called me back a few days later and tried to talk me into how it was "better". Absolutely not; it was no longer my ring. Third fix: it's halfway in between the original and the botched second fix. By February, I was done dealing with them and ready to have my ring back. I can't get over how awful it was to do business with them. In the beginning they were all kindness and charm, but as the repairs piled up, the owner was sure to tell me each time how much it was costing him. Bonus: when I picked up the ring, they charged me for the full original quote, rather than even attempting to make the situation right. Plus, the owner again reminded me of how much cost he had incurred in repairing their mistakes. I'm so upset that my ring is no longer my ring, and I'm deeply disappointed in the way Willis does business. read more

I needed to get a watch battery replaced at 5:45 on a Friday evening and stopped in at Willis. Carolyn helped me and initially said I would have to leave the watch but after I told her I had planned to wear it at a business conference the next day, she took it to the watch man and he replaced the battery in about ten minutes. While I waited Carolyn showed me some TAG Heuer watches and offered to polish my wedding ring at no charge. I recently (Oct. 19th, 2013) went to visit Willis Jewelry in Rockwall, TX after seeing their full page ads in the Dallas Morning News, seeking to purchase gold, watches, scrap gold, unused family heirlooms. Seeing as their wording said "don't sell to traveling gold buyers", I believed it would be worth my while to drive out to see them and get an offer for some gold jewelry I no longer wear. Prior to heading out, I did my research and learned what the current gold "spot" price was, and even went so far as to take my jewelry to another jewelry store closer to my house. Willis Jewelry are a bunch of blatantly lying thieves. They scrutinized my bracelet up and down, (it was a very unique heavy 14k gold bracelet weighing over 55 grams), and even went so far as to damaging it by pulling apart one of the gold spring coils on the bracelet (I didn't notice it until after I left). Then they tried telling me that a portion of the bracelet wasn't real gold (I know for a fact it was all real as I had purchased it years ago from a very reputable dealer), and basically chatting me up and asking why I was wanting to sell it. After they'd beaten down the value and condition they tried telling me that gold was at an all time 'low', they offered me a measly $500.00 for it. Now let me mention, the 'scrap value' alone for the gold was over $1317.00 on Friday. This place offered me less than 40 percent of SCRAP/SPOT value for it. I was expecting a fair trade at about 80 percent or better, which is what most dealers offer, but never was I expecting to be taken for somewhere between 35-38 percent of the actual value of my gold. I was extremely insulted at their attempt to blatantly rob me, and the salesman (or better put shyster) said to me after I'd told him he was offering me less than 40 percent of the value of the gold, said to me 'well-that's what I've been told I could offer...we have a 20 percent assay fee (the guy who melts the gold down), a 20 percent shop fee, a 15 percent some other fee, and then we still have to make something on this". Long story short- I took my jewelry to a different gold buyer off of 635 and Coit and they immediately offered me $1100 and some change for it. Don't waste your time or energy dealing with Willis Jewelers in Rockwall, TX. They'll look you straight in the eye and with a grin, try to rob you. Due your due research on what your items are worth, and shop around before you decide to sell. The second shop I told the story to yesterday, couldn't believe what Willis Jewelry tried to pull on me and even said, he'd heard of people getting ripped off, but never as bad as what Willis Jewelry tried to bend me over for. read more

They are a top-notch jewelry store (that offers high end as well as trendier stuff, i.e. Yurman), but above that they offer stellar customer service, which is tough to come by these days. Last year I inherited some jewelry when my Mother passed away. Although valuable, it just wasn't my taste so it sat in a drawer, unworn and ignored. I finally decided this isn't what she would want, so began the journey to repurpose several of the pieces, combining her stones into one lovely wedding ring, which I could enjoy and wear every day. I worked with a jeweler for 4 months who ignored my vision, offering no workarounds or compromises for what HE felt the ring should look like. I finally "fired" him. I then visited Willis Fine Jewelers...the clouds parted, the angels sang...you get the picture. Within 30 minutes, Carolyn listened to what I was trying to create and chose a ring from their collection on which to loosely base my design. Seriously, the only direction I gave her was "I like the rings that kind of intertwine together". She listened. The other jeweler was distressed by the fact that I had stones from several rings, all different sizes, and wanted them all in this ring. Carolyn let me know that they love creating new jewelry from inherited collections and the various sizes would make the ring uniquely mine. Music to my ears! The final product (which only took 4 weeks, start-to-finish) is EXACTLY what I wanted. A spectacular piece of jewelry honoring my Mom's legacy but completely my taste!
