Willie's Auto repair was recommended to me back in 2000. I haven't gone to anyone else since then. He is one of the most honest mechanics you will ever meet. I was surprised one time when he was fixing a problem in the car and said that only one side was broken. I'm sure a majority of mechanics would have taken advantage and say that both had to be fixed. We went to Willie for our engine and starter to be replaced. Our original quote was $3,500. Our van was towed to Willie's Auto repair on 3/8/17. The van had a hole in the engine, a crack in the starter, and dead battery, and a flat tire. He said it would take a couple weeks for him to able to get to it. On 4/4/17 my husband called to see how the repair work was going, we learn that there had been a break-in at Willie's and that our key, along with others had been stolen. I was asked to take our other key to his repair shop. When I got there I learned that he had not started repair work on our van, that the police had caught the person who broke in, and Willie showed me where the break in happened. I guess the police either didn't have our key, or didn't give it back. Willie let us know that he would replace it for us. On 5/5/17 I called and asked if the van was done, he said "no ma'am, we are putting the engine in now, probably this weekend". On 5/7/17 I called he said "new engine is in, finishing it up. Probably done tomorrow". On 5/8/17 I called and he said it wasn't done. On 5/11/17 I called and he said "I am having trouble getting it out, it's seized up, the bolts are stuck, and I am trying to get it out without taking out the transmission, because that would be more labor." He lied to me about the repair work. He was also sounding flustered and frustrated that I was calling. On 5/20/17 I called and he said it still wasn't out. On 5/23/17 I called and he said "we finally found a way to pull this engine out, so it should be ready this week." On 5/26/17 at 12:25pm Willie called informing me that the van was finally done, it just needs a new battery, he had one for $177, I politely declined. At 2:22pm my husband got off work, bought a battery, picked me up at home, we dropped our kids off with my mom, and we drove to Willie's. When we got to Willie's we found out my husband had gotten the wrong battery. So with a verbal agreement Willie said we could take the $177 battery and go buy a new one and bring that one back my the following Tuesday (as it was memorial weekend) "since it took him so long to fix the van". And he said again that he would pay for the key replacement. I wrote him a check for $4,025.54, his new price for us, and we were on our way. On 5/30/17 at 11:14am I received a call from Willie saying the check hadn't cleared, he sounded frantic. I checked my account, check was pending, I called my bank for confirmation, they said it was pending, and that because of the holiday (the day before) that it would take a little longer. I let Willie know what my bank said. At 11:57am Willie called again saying that it hadn't cleared and that his account was going to overdraft. I told him [again] that it was pending and that there was nothing else I could do. I let him know my husband would be bringing the battery off that afternoon. My husband took the battery back, and Willie brought up the check again, my husband told him that the check was pending and Willie said "that's good enough for me". On 5/31/17 at 10:35am I received another call from Willie saying that his bank said the check hadn't cleared, he sounded frantic and said that his account was going to overdraft. He asked me to call my bank, I said I would, and that it had been pending yesterday, and that it was not in my hands. I checked my account, it said the check had cleared. I called the bank, and had gotten confirmation that my check had cleared, and that depending on his bank that it could take longer for it to clear his bank. They said it was clear on our end and that there was nothing we could do. At 11:16am Willie called again, I told him that it had cleared my bank and that it would take longer for his bank to clear it. He said "my account is going to overdraft". And he said that he would be calling his bank and that it had cleared that he would be taking it to the police. Through all of this I've been kind and understanding. I was done. He again said that his account was going to overdraft of the check wasn't clear... I let him know that it is not my fault if his account overdraft, and he said "i'm not trying to be mean", I said that threatening me with the police is in fact mean especially when I've been working with him and being kind throughout this whole process. And that I have a bank statement showing that the check had in fact cleared. I asked him to stop harassing me with phone calls, he said that he would. At 12:31pm I received a phone call from his bank. I let her know everything that was going on and I apologized to her for using a tone, and I said that it was very frustrating and she said she understood and that she would tell him that he would just have to "hold his horses". Willie has been very unprofessional, especially at the end of this, and I do not recommend anyone go for him for anything. I never received a phone call from Willie until the end when he wanted his money. read more

This place is awful. They kept my car almost 1 month and they didn't fix it. Their attitude are very bad. Strongly not recommended.

My van sat there for 5 1/2 weeks before he finally said he couldn't fix it. They told me I would have to have it taken to Chrysler to fix. Every time I called they said they would call right back, however never would. I seemed like an inconvenience to them. I will not go back there again and won't recommend them. I had it towed to Terry's Auto in old Towne Bellevue and he had it fixed in 2 DAYS! read more

I would never take the time or effort to submit a review but in this case it's warranted. I'm active duty military and I have been stationed all over the country and the world and I haven't found a better mechanic than Willies auto repair. He's usually half the price, does better work and extremely honest. I highly recommend him to friends, co-workers and if I had family in the area I would take them there. We have been taking our vehicles to Willie's auto repair for over 11 years now and one of our first vehicles he worked-on has over 200k miles now and we have had zero problems. Recently he fixed my poor car decision that would have taken thousands to fix for a couple of hundred dollars and it's running like new now. read more

Willie has given me top notch service at prices I can afford since the late 90s. What the place lacks to glamour it more than makes up for with treating their customers fairly. I have no idea what the opinion ahead of me is talking about. I can guess why he was so hard on them, but 'nuf said that Willie doesn't suffer fools gladly. One time I brought him a Turkey Roulade for Thanksgiving because I so appreciated his service. read more
