We are so incredibly lucky to have had this theatre here for 16 years. They put on amazing shows every season. The leaders all live locally and are incredible actors. They are all so friendly. They have had several premieres here and support playwrights as well as partner with MSU and a rep theatre in Detroit. You will be hooked. read more

The Williamston Theatre produces 5 shows a year. - In 2008, the Lansing State Journal awarded the Theatre and its four founders the prestigious Robert Busby Award for extraordinary contribution to theatre in the Greater Lansing Area. - In 2014, the American Theatre Wing awarded the Williamston Theatre a National Theatre Company Award recognizing it as one of twelve up and coming theatres in the country. Williamston Theatre is a professional regional theatre that offers a diverse array of intimate storytelling experiences to entertain, build a sense of belonging, and foster empathy for the human journey. This mission is guided by four core values: - Excellence - Inclusion - Sense of Place - Sustainability Performances: - First Week of each show: Thursday & Friday @ 7:30PM, Saturday & Sunday @ 2:00PM Remaining weeks: - Thursdays @ 2:00PM - Fridays @ 7:30PM - Saturdays @ 2:00PM & 7:30PM - Sundays @ 2:00PM The Box Office is open Tuesday - Friday Noon-5PM and on Performance Days 1 1/2 hours prior to each performance.

History

Established in 2004.

The Williamston Theatre began as the Williamston Theatre Project in the spring of 2004 when four Michigan-based theatre professionals, actor John Lepard, director Tony Caselli, arts administratorChristine Purchis and actress and producer Emily Sutton-Smith, chose Williamston as a location to found a not-for-profit, small, professional live theatre company. Throughout 2005, the four founders worked to develop their business plan, secure support for the project and raise awareness in the community. In late 2005, a local developer pledged to support the Theatre by underwriting its facility expenses. Community volunteers rallied around the effort to open the Theatre and spent hundreds of man-hours building, painting and remodeling the former retail space to be a workable black box theatre with eighty-eight seats. "Additional Particulars", a comedy by Ed Simpson, was the Theatre's first full production and opened in June 2006.

Meet the Manager: John L.

John is a co-founder of the Williamston Theatre, mid-Michigan's only professional theatre company. He has been acting professionally for 20 years. His credits range from film and television in Los Angeles to live theatre off-Broadway. He is a member of the Actors' Equity Association, the Screen Actors' Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. John received his BA in Theatre from Michigan State University and his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. John is an adjunct professor at Lansing Community College and a frequent guest professor at Michigan State University as well as being a professional director.

It has plenty standing room, however since it's so dated, the bathroom is tiny. Well, the ladies' bathroom stall at least. There is no knee room while using the potty. That's probably the biggest downfall of this theatre. Sure, not too many people make it out to Williamston, but I'd rather go there and spend $20 on 2 tickets, 2 tubs of popcorn, 2 drinks and 2 candies, then just spending $20 on 2 tickets at other megaplex theatres. Also, parking is free. Always a nice perk. They got Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel opening day, and it is definitely the cheapest ticket for that movie right now. And for what they're charging, you could probably afford to see it twice with the kids.

You get a wrist band that you use to bundle your bouquet for just $15 and it smells heavenly. The owner chatted with us and he was a landscaper whose dream was to open this farm. He has done a wonderful job and we enjoyed the lavender festival which is scheduled on two weekends in July. They will host an apple and pumpkin festival in the fall.

Nice small theater located in the parking lot of the Meridian Mall. When I looked this up I didn't…read morerealize it wasn't "in" the mall so I parked way on the wrong side of the mall. The good thing was, we enjoyed our walk through the mall and had plenty of time to figure out where we had to go. You get to pick specific seats but the are soft rocking type seats, not like the recliner ones I'm used to picking. Restrooms were conveniently located, the theater was clean and the prices seemed pretty reasonable. They have some sort of premium membership program but I didn't ask anything about it since I don't live in the area.
