The pop stations are easy to get to if you need a quick refill. I do like that the theater isn't overwhelmingly large so if you need a quick bathroom break, you don't have too far to go. I appreciated that, and so did everyone else in the theater. I don't think I heard as many "thank you's" all at once! Staff was also apologetic for the error. Hey, mistakes happen. I am a huge movie fan but oddly enough today was my first visit to the Farmington Civic Theater. I…read morenow use MoviePass and the Civic Theater is an option, and only 15 minutes from my house, so I decided to try it out. I had heard they do not have recliners, they have regular seats but overall they are comfortable. I will say I'm 5'5" and didn't think there was a lot of legroom, though (which could be a problem if I bring my 6'4" husband with me next time to see a movie...). I will say there is a front row that has all the legroom you could desire though so that's always an option. I came here to see Hitpig tonight, and it was on the 2nd floor - definitely allow some time either before or after your movie to check the second floor out because it's basically like a little museum dedicated to the theater's history, and I found it very cool, especially the old projectors that they have. Both the first and the second floor have bathrooms, also, which was nice. There was a sign on the door to the theater that says on Thursdays they do $2 sodas and popcorn with ticket purchase, which is a good deal. I didn't buy any concessions today but I saw they had soda, popcorn, candy, and a few other things I would imagine. This is a cute theater; not going to lie and say I didn't miss having recliner but I would come back here to see a movie and maybe go out to eat in downtown Farmington afterwards. Also, they have parking for free in the back, behind Basement Burger Bar and the other restaurants nearby.

While the front rows are reserved for cars and the further rows for SUVs and trucks, it can still be difficult to see if you have a big vehicle in front of you. Occasionally, someone will also leave their headlights on. I found that prices have risen since I last visited, but it's still a great deal for a fun night!

We ended up throwing a bunch of throw pillows in the trunk and had a great experience. There is a concession stand and the restaurant in the hockey facility allows you to order food, which we did. The food wasn't impressive and was fairly overpriced for what it was, but they had many options, just not very much for dietary restrictions, so definitely recommend bringing some snacks/eating beforehand. From the perspective of urban planning, this is such an ingenious use of a parking lot that otherwise doesn't get as much use in the summer months. We love land uses that create space for people to gather and enjoy entertainment without having to change the overall location!

Wow! Just wow! The…read moreArcade is amazing. So many machines crammed into one space. Admittedly, I came for the pinball of which there was plenty. But on top of that there are modern international rhythm games, classic arcade cabinets, and even those modern sit down arcade monstrosities that are more like pieces of furniture than games. All of which are included to play for free with your admission. For some, that is an incredible deal. But if you are pretty good at pinball $20 can last a long long time at a regular arcade. Still, free play offers an opportunity to try out difficult shots and improve one's pinball game without dipping deeper into your wallet. There are a few downsides. As others have mentioned it's warm inside. Not surprising given the number of machines. On a hot summer day, despite fans circulating overhead, I was literally dripping in sweat wearing just shorts and a t-shirt. Next time, I will wear a lighter shirt and might consider rocking a sweat band around my noggin. Or, I might wait until cooler temperatures roll along. Being open only three days a week is a bit of a bummer. I'd also love to see a little more space between machines, as it's not uncommon to get bumped into during a game, and that's unfortunate. However, I would also hate to see The Arcade lose any of the machines they've got, so I'll happily suck up the occasional physical contact. At the moment, The Arcade has pinball machines spanning a wide swath of time including The Big Lebowski, Bonzai Run, Pinbot, Taxi, Toy Story 4, and the brand new John Wick. Their Elton John machine was wrapped up for transit, and it was unclear if it was coming or going. I do also love that you can have in and out privileges. One of these days, I'm going to have a Saturday pinball marathon, arriving at noon when The Arcade opens and staying until my body fails me. Maybe I can even make it to closing at 11pm, but even if I could log eight hours of pinball, that would be incredible. My biggest piece of advice is dress appropriately. Maybe consider bringing a portable fan or cooling device to hang around your neck. Ear plugs or headphones might also help you last longer and get more out of your admission fee.

He's a little young yet to get into the old school arcade games but we had a good time on the racers and he's just starting to get down with pinball which they have a lot of. They don't have the skeeball or some of the larger games, and there isn't a prize counter but for the cost and location I much prefer The Arcade. He and I can play for $40 where D&B or Pete's is more like $50-100 if we're both playing.

It's also has a good size seating capacity. It has a Center seating section, with additional seating sections on each side. There was also a small balcony. There are Covid precautions in place and masks are required to be worn at this juncture. The actors and actresses were all members of the community. Quite honestly they were superb. The play was Steel Magnolia's. This story was rolled out and brought out all the emotions that we have-at different times during the play. My nephew was actually the one that told me about the play and when I found out he was interested in going I thought it would be a great opportunity for both of us! There were small breaks between Acts and an intermission halfway through the production. Cookies, water and other small items were available for purchase. Any food and beverage had to be ingested up where it was sold so as to preserve the beauty of the auditorium. I wondered how they were going to do "Steel Magnolia's" as I saw the movie years ago and knew the sad outcome. The way they modified the play encompassed the spirit of the situation without having a death bed scene. I found myself crying anyway. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the production and we have every intention of returning in the near future! "Bravo", "Encore".. Hartland City Players- thank you for such an enjoyable evening!!

Great Experience with South Lyon Theatre…read more Huge thank you to the owners and staff of the South Lyon Theatre. Beautifully restored and renovated turn of the century theatre. Now a flexible venue that provides plush seating on the upper tier with acessable ramp down to a level ballroom type floor that can be set up for dancing and dining for about 60 adults. The theater has a screen for audio and video presentations. An additional small PA with microphones for your use. The Owner, David and his wife are enthusiastic supporters of thier clients desires. No food preparation or drink service. The do allow you to bring your own drinks and food or catering service. We set up and staffed our own bar and had Zingermans of AnnArbor provide food services. They were amazing as well. David customized the Exterior Marqee with a birthday greeting for my mothers 90th Birthday Day. 60 Adults and several children attended and all enjoyed.
