After learning Williams-Sonoma now carries Fortnum & Mason tea, I went on to the store nearer to home and bought a box of Royal Blend loose leaves and a canister of biscuits as a birthday gift for someone very special. Anna was wonderful. She greeted me when I stepped in the store and she told me she would be around if I needed any assistance. I picked up the loose leaves and biscuits and Anna upon knowing they were meant as a birthday gift, offered to gift wrapped them for me. The items were packed in a box and very nicely wrapped. I basically bought what I love and I was so glad the birthday boy really loved the items from Fortnum & Mason too. It is hard to know anyone who would appreciate something or anything from F&M as much as I do. After a certain age you gotta throw out your $10 Wal-mart pots and pans that you've had since Buffy the Vampire Slayer was still on TV...this is where you have to pay a visit to Mr. Williams-Sonoma. This was my first time coming to this location and I thought the folks here were a bit stuffy for my taste. Williams-Sonoma sells everything from $20 cleaning brushes to $500 stainless steel stock pots to $2300 espresso makers. They also sell frozen croissants shipped to you crafted by Jean-Yves Charon for about $40 (you get 15). Of course they're aren't cheap but you really do get what you pay for when it comes to cooking ware. I use to be like what's the difference between a $25 pot from Wal-mart and a $250 Italian made pot? A lot as I found out for myself using my brother's Zwilling pans a few Thanksgivings ago. It's like going from going from a Motel 6 to the Mandarin Oriental...I see why he always wanted to stay home to cook instead of going out... After shopping at this store. I think I prefer the one at The Avenue in East Cobb. The sales people there are terrific. They will show you the latest and the greatest. In fact my first purchase with W-S was at the East Cobb store many moons ago when I went in just to look around...somehow a nice sales associate talked me into purchasing a Japanese chef's knife that I still use to this day. Sadly I didn't feel an urge to purchase anything...no one offered to show us anything or asked if we were looking for something specific....in fact we were there for about 15-20 minutes and not one person talked to us or made eye contact....ya...I think I'll go back to shopping at the East Cobb store and or just buying it online...I might get more interaction with the computer than the people that work at this store....maybe better luck next time... read more

Don't let someone convince you that the cheap cookware you are using is as good as the All-Clad cookware sold here. It isn't. Don't let someone convince you that the cast iron dutch over you bought from Ross at 29.99 is the same as Le Cresuet. I would say, don't let someone convince you that the blender you currently are using is just as good at the $600 Vitamix they have here. It isn't, but since I don't have $600 to spend on a blender, I have to keep telling myself that my Hamilton Beach blender I bought from Bed, Bath and Beyond for $29 gets the job done. The staff here can be over attentive, or pay you no attention at all. There doesn't seem to be an in-between. They offer technique classes on Sundays, those are complimentary, but they also have this thing called the Cookbook series where you get to try recipes from various cookbooks. You pay a cost for that one, but it does include the cost of the cookbook also. I have enough cookbooks to last me a lifetime, so those don't appeal to me. Great quality products. Williams Sonoma return policies are exceptional. Most times it's whatever the manufacture's policy is plus an additional year. They request that you keep your receipt, but who is going to keep a receipt for years and then with the receipt tape now, its all faded out six months after you purchase either way. I've always been a fan of Williams-Sonoma and their elaborate and illustrious collection/offering of Calphalon, Le Creuset, Vitamix, Henkel, etc and the opportunity to ogle at all of the shiny new kitchen toys that no one should rightfully purchase on a whim. However, there a few more practical applications to a visit here albeit still expensive. My wife and I got so tired of buying crappy kitchen tools (namely rubber spatulas, whisks, veg peelers, etc) that were terrible quality. The selection at any WS is always stellar and you can score some mainstay tools that'll last in your kitchen for years for a relatively affordable price. The staff at this location has always been relatively friendly and easy to deal with. I think they make their checkout process a bit more complicated than it should be. I mean... it's a whisk. I don't need a huge bag and to have it wrapped in decorative paper. Regardless, most everyone we've dealt with at this location has been super friendly and devoid of the "How about you walk in and buy a $400 appliance right now" attitude, which is nice. This location causes a bit of a schism between my heart and my mind. On one side, I really love WS and love visiting, perusing, fiddling around, etc, but the other is just how much I truly hate the mall. Conundrum. read more

Looking for a way to pimp your kitchen? Well, you are at the right place. My beau generally does not like to tag along when I go shopping. He claims that I spend too much time in shoes stores. Then I defend myself by saying, "Well, you spend waaaay too much time in GameStop!" Then of course, we would get into an endless fight about how that isn't true, etc. Despite our differences, there is one store that we both love and frequent, which goes by the name of Williams-Sonoma. As a woman, how can one not love Williams-Sonoma? It's the cream de la cream of cookwares. Surprisingly, he really likes Williams-Sonoma - thanks to their wide selection of knives, grills, and other manly items. So every time he goes, he drools over some item that happens to catch his eyes. A little later, he walks over and asks "Yuna, do you think we need a new pot? A new knife? A new grill?" With his signature dreamy puppy eyes. How can I say no? Due to my weakness, we now have a exhibition of his impulse buys from Williams-Sonoma: The damn Shun knife (which he won't let me touch), the All-Clad indoor grill (which he won't teach me how to use), and the Mauviel Copper pans and pots (which he treats like his own children). What's interesting is how his request seems to change every time we go. I guess Williams-Sonoma really carries a lot of stuff! Although I really hate Lenox Square, I prefer this location over the Phipps Plaza one, because I like how the store decided to have its display. We had a problem with the finish on a Le Creuset pan that we purchased over a year ago and I mentioned it while we were in the store last week. The saleswomen told me to bring it back and get a new one, no questions asked. I did and didn't speak to the same person and could not find the receipt. No problem. They swapped it right out. My husband and I just purchased several items, which required a fair amount of help from the associates. We had to inquire about pricing, product descriptions, and stock availability several times. One associate in particular was unprofessional and of little to no help. (There was one associate, Phillip-I believe I have his name right-who seemed to be on the ball and helpful. Sadly, we weren't fortunate enough to get his help.) When we FINALLY finished the woman helping us offered to meet us outside and help us load our purchases in the car. This initially sounded like a helpful gesture; however she directed us to one mall entrance and then went to a different entrance entirely with our packages. Maybe it was her first day on the job. Maybe the concepts of customer service, retail, or kitchen/culinary products are foreign to her. I can't say for sure. Williams Sonoma is the highest quality kitchen goods store I know of. They sell nearly the full line of Le Creuset, All-Clad, and Kitchenaid cook ware and their staff is knowledgable enough to help you with anything. The only downside is that you will pay for every ounce of awesome that you purchase. Their prices are full MSRP and the manufacturers really love their stuff (so they ask a lot). This is one of the only places that make me wish I was rich. read more

20 year customer will never go back. In my 60s, shopped here for large family for Christmas for 20+ years, wife went maybe monthly too. Pre-Christmas, got myself a pod coffee machine, obnoxious arrogant clerk gave bad advice and it would not make a single full cup of coffee. Returned. Same arrogant jerk claimed to be a coffee expert and said get this one, a $4200 coffee machine to get a pod coffee once a day. Lost life long customer. I expected much better customer service when trying to return a rather expensive knife. I was told that I would need to contact the knife company and they would not exchange my knife when it cracked during normal use. I'll make my purchases for expensive kitchen toys at Macy's now. I'm always a fan of Williams-Sonoma for all things kitchen. I could happily use one of everything in the store. They provide a good selection of everything one could use or gift for those who love to cook. The staff is always helpful and knowledgable. The only reason I am not giving the store five stars is because it always seems so cramped (especially after visiting the new location at Ponce City Market). As I walk with a cane, and sometimes a walker, I always feel I have to be on the lookout to ensure I am not going to knock something over. They were extremely helpful when I purchased an appliance, and even when I had an issue, they went above and beyond to make sure everything was rectified. Each time I've been in this Williams Sonoma I've been treated very well by the employees. Today my boyfriend and I came because the Nespresso machines were on sale, so we decided to have a gander. Paul was at the Nespresso station and was very helpful. Unlike other stores we've been to he seemed to be very well informed about the machines and were able to answer any questions we had. He not only answered our questions with great detail, but also offered us each a cup of coffee and espresso. After a walk through of the machines, we were able to put a bundle on hold while we shopped around the mall. We returned and the other associates at the counter were also very polite and helpful. One of the ladies went above and beyond even though she forgot which model we wanted. She ended up bringing out both bundles out for us to choose from. We didn't have to wait very long even though we signed up for a Williams Sonoma card and received an additonal 20% off. Our overall experience here was very pleasant, and we hope to see more of Paul and the other associates on our next visit. read more

I went in today, and got exactly what I was looking for! I had tried without success to make a pasta sauce with vodka and was bombing! I went in around 11:30 this morning and the sweetheart behind the counter showed me exactly what I was doing wrong! She took so much time with me, fortunately, as important as my problem was, I didn't take away from other customers. I really recommend this location and if you have time on your hands like I do, I recommend making your pasta from scratch. Super disappointed with the Customer Service received today when trying to pick up an online order. The store Manager scolded us when we arrived a little early (granted, 5 hours after the order was placed when the email confirmation said 2 hours was typical turn-around) to pick up our wedding registry gift. When spending hundreds of dollars on product, you would think a little patience/humility would be deserved. So sorry we were a little early to pick up the expensive gift we bought from your store. I associate Williams Sonoma with prestige, class, and world star service. Most of my kitchen is stocked with their products: Global Knives, Meile Espresso Machine etc. Since I've been back in Atlanta, I've only shopped the Ponce City Market Location. Great Place it is.... SO I decided I would go into Lenox Mall and visit their location there. Upon entering the store, its clean well put together, and the aroma wafting from what they're cooking was glorious. The Sales Lady was so nice and friendly, looking things up online for me and even exchanging stories of what she has in her kitchen. So I find the Thermal Wall Tumblers Im looking for and go to check out. The sales lady begins the transaction and things are great. She asks if my card is Debit or Credit. I say debit. I insert my cart into the machine (due to the infamous chip) and it makes a noise saying chip malfunction. We try again 2 times and the machine tells me then to swipe the card and enter my pin. Meanwhile, "Phillip" who is the ACM at this location I am to understand begins to tell me if my chip doesnt work then I need another form of payment. Mind you I have swiped my card at MANY locations in and around Atlanta and no issues. So I swipe my card enter the pin, the transaction is approved and "Phillip" decides he wants to tell me he is going to "Void my purchase" while berading me about my swiping of my card. at this time Im angry because I have made the purchase and at that point a simple thank you for shopping with us would have worked. NO... Things worsen. "Phillip" decides to use the little bit of power bestowed upon him to make my life a bit more unease. He then goes into this rant about their policy and chips and NEVER ONCE asks for my ID at all. NEVER... he keeps ranting about voiding my purchase. Which is totally absurd. At this point Ive paid please let me leave. THEN, the unimaginable. I have to convince them that my purchase came out of my account by having to SHOW THEM MY ONLINE BANKING. At the point the Manager, says she will ALLOW THE PURCHASE. You have got to be kidding me. You are harrassing the customer over a $52.00 purchase of glassware? I can tell you I have been to MANY MANY MANY William Sonomas in my time and this is the ONLY one where I was treated like a common criminal. Its very disheartening to know that one thinks because they are "ACM" that they can treat the customer however they want. Its also sad that their mentality is to TURN AWAY BUSINESS because you don't like the fact I swiped my card and entered my pin WHICH ONLY I KNOW... I can honestly say I made a BIG MISTAKE visiting your Store at Lenox, maybe I should stick with the "commoners" who don't frequent your Mall as much.... OH, and Phillip.... Thank you for the FREE Glasses.
