This company has to have the WORST customer service on the planet. I bought a gift card that was misplaced and called to get it cancelled and re-issued. I spent at least 5 hours on the phone getting the run around between the store and customer service each one pointing the finger at the other with no resolve for me-the customer. The store said they didn't have a record of the gift card purchase so they couldn't help. I'm pretty sure they were just too lazy to look it up. This company had no customer service!! Next time I will go to Sur La Table or Bloomingdale's for kitchen supplies/ equipment. read more

Cool, unique, gotta have stuff - with the price tag to match. We'd like to outfit our kitchen with most of the stuff stocked within these walls. But it would take a small fortune. Now some of the edibles are wallet friendly and look and sound delicious. We've gotten some great ideas for meals here - along with sauces that go with them. We enjoy walking thru the aisles & displays drooling at the wares. Ah if $$$ was no object. If you've never been here be prepared for sticker shock - then enjoy your shopping trip. read more

I mean I like WS and have shopped a lot of their stores but BEWARE: 8/2/23 I wanted to purchase a Staub sauté pan priced at 300.00- and I would have paid that price, but they were out of stock. Fine. Very helpful sales guy offered to order for me but I replied "Thanks but I'll order from WS online. I checked WS online and it was listed for 150.00. Half price of what I'd have paid in the store. Moral of the story: Do not buy pricier items in the William Sonoma store without checking online. If you just don't need to see the item first then don't bother with the store. Yesterday I once again went to this Williams-Sonoma location, only to once again be ignored by the staff acting busy shuffling around inventory on the shelves. Dropping in on this Williams-Sonoma has become a little game for me just to see if the terrible customer service has changed. This morning I mentioned this to my wife, and she unleashed a tirade of agreement. She affirmed that the staff at this Williams-Sonoma location ignores her when she goes into the store. Ironic I don't have the same problem at the Pottery Barn next door, or the Apple Store, or any of the other retail outlets at this same mall. Dillard's at the mall across the street also has great customer service. I am always greeting with salespeople eager to help. Containeer Store staff at the other mall down the street are also consistently very helpful. But not at Williams-Sonoma! read more

1/4/23 4pm. My sister, daughter and I went in to look around. Lots of lovely products, 3 of the most dismissive sales women I have ever seen. I was perusing Shun knife sets had some questions but these 3 could not even be bothered to greet us or come over. I was so put off by this rudeness that we left and they didn't even look up as we left. Bad, bad look for your brand at this store....by the way, the store was empty when we walked in, maybe your staff is part of the reason, these 3 were far more interested in talking with each other and looking at their phones than interacting in the slightest with us as the only customers in there. read more

Great store with a lot of useful and innovative items. From pots and pans to utensils and home decor they have a lot to explore. They even have their own seasonings and mixes for drinks. The store was neatly stocked and clean. Staff was very inviting and helpful. I enjoyed viewing their variety of cookware as well as appliances. They carried a wide variety of cooking utensils ranging from a spatula to chef knives. You can easily get lost in all the items they carry as they carry something for everyone. If you love to cook, this is the place for you! If your a wine connoisseur, they carry many wine glasses, electronic openers, sealers. They also carry home decor to make it yours. Overall it's a great store with a lot to offer, but be warned. This place is not cheap by any means. The products they offer are great quality and as so expect to pay a pretty penny for it. Oh, how I love wandering through the iron cookware, drifting by the many dooda's of kitchen wizardry, The amazing salt and pepper grinding contraptions, The wine aerators and corkscrews, the cool table wares, the pizza cooking stones, the most excellent knife selection, and the cookbooks... Just to name a few. I did purchase a Japanese cast iron skillet that is only 1/2 the weight of a regular cast iron skillet, so far the jury says, "we love you Komin Cast Iron Skillet!" I have been trying to get a refund for the 240 dollars worth of merchandise but they are not processing it correctly ! My daughter loves watching Food Network and was so excited when I registered her for Williams Sonoma's Junior Chef class. When we showed up for class, we waited outside for approx. 15 minutes after the store was scheduled to open. After the store opened, we were informed that the class had been cancelled. It was upsetting that the store never told us as we could have made better use of our time. What was more disappointing was seeing my daughter's fire burn out so quickly that morning. We were all so excited for her first Junior Chef class. Days later, the store refunded the incorrect amount. After contacting the store, I was told to call another number. Recently I was in the market to have my knives sharpened. After a Google search I stumbled upon a post advising Williams and Sonoma will sharpen your knife for free! If you're like me and have a dull block of knives they will sharpen each additional knife for $5. The staff in this store have always been courteous, helpful, and kind. They don't sharpen serrated knives or scissors, but the associate was kind enough to refer me to a near by business that would. This is my very first yelp review. I never write reviews but today's events left me no choice. I Tried to go into the store to make a return that in their defense was over the 30 day limit. However, I have been at the hospital the last month with my mother who was in a serious accident and was in critical care for two weeks. I had purchased four wine glasses, and went to use them for the first time on Fthe ourth of July to find one was cracked right down the side. I brought in my receipt. The wine glass still had the stickers on it and tried to explain my situation. The sales associate was very kind and understood my situation and offered to explain it to the manager. However, never have I ever encountered someone as rude as the store manager. She was not sympathetic to my family's tragedy and talked down to me as if I was a child. She was very condescending in her tone and explained there was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY she could help me. She even told me that there was NO WAY the wine glass could have been cracked and blamed me for it saying it's 100% my fault. I felt humiliated and I left the store in tears. My husband and I (who also had to cancel our wedding earlier this year due to covid) were registered there and our families have always been loyal William Sonoma customers. However, after my interactions today, I cannot in my heart recommend people shop here. Crate and Barrel have been so much more kind and helpful when it comes to returns. Nothing against Williams Sonoma but the manager is the reason I will never be shopping there again and will have to advise people do the same. I understand policies but where is human decency anymore ? Or at least try to help the customer as best as you can and be KIND AND SYMPATHETIC. Not just run people over and out of the store. The one thing I like about this store is that when I come here with my lady friend there's actually stuff for me to look at while she's busy shopping. Williams Sonoma has all sorts of knick knacks, from specialty cheese graters to oddball sauces and such. While others are looking to drop $300+ on copper clad whathaveyou, I'll be busy browsing the various and sundry items that are stocked on nooks and crannies all about. Great place to get truffle salt (thanks to Jennifer L. for the recommendation!). For great quality kitchenware and high-end ingredients, Williams Sonoma is your store! I went here to get some truffle salt and brining bags for our holiday meal and I always get side-tracked by the other cool struff they have. It gets pretty packed around the holidays, so just keep that in mind. The isles are pretty small as they pack a lot of interesting cookware throughout the store, which can take up a lot of room. Going to Williams Sonoma will definitely inspire you to cook-up some fantastic food! read more

This particular store is NOT customer service friendly. I attempted to return an item purchased at the beginning of COVID-19 but was met with resistance and attitude from Linda, the associate on duty. After speaking to the manager (Kristen) I was advised to call their customer service number as she also refused to accept my return. I called and settled the return via their corporate office and UPS, just as I expected WS would. Went into the Uptown Williams-Sonoma Store and read a sign that said soaps and lotions were "up to 40%" off. I went to two employees and asked what that meant. I asked if the item I was looking at was 40% off and if not what percentage off was it. Both of them verbally told me that, yes, the lotion I was looking at was 40% off. So after ringing me up I told them that the percentage off was less than what they said it would be; one of the ladies said well "that's why you should read the signs very carefully." I told her that I had read the sign carefully and that it was vague, which is why I went to the counter - for clarification, wanting to know what that particular product was on sale for. I have to say this is a classic 'bait and switch' because after receiving verbal validation what the price was going to be and then being rung up for a price that was more is something I wanted to share - Buyer Beware. Making signage vague is deceptive to the customer, especially if people can't calculate quickly in their head what it should be. I didn't not appreciate the smug comment and their lack in trying to rectify what they had promised. The woman at the counter couldn't even figure what the price should have been after calculating many times - VERY DISAPPOINTED!! read more

Well I'm just a fan of this store even if everything is super expensive. What is sad is that a couple of years ago the company changed their return policy...now I think it is 30 days whereas before it used to be that u could return things indefinitely even if they were used as long as u had a receipt i think..So if you bought some gimmicky cooking tool and realized 3 years later u didn't ever use it or only used it once.. U could return it no questions asked.. No more though... My husband and i like to attend the Sunday morning technique classes at this store... We have periods where we go a lot then maybe don't go but they are pretty informative. You go one hour before the store opens for a little technique demo about some topic that is seasonally appropriate or has to do with some sort of new product the store is going to promote. At the end you get samples of course but also get a discount on anything you buy before the store opens. The people that work here are really helpful and especially during the technique class answer many of your questions. It is a nice way to mingle with people and bounce food ideas off each other. I have not been to the cooking classes that you pay for but heard they were good. The lack of a star is due to high prices and their crummy return policy. read more

I was looking for a particular item and called the store to see if they had it before I went down there. A male associate answered the phone and said that yes, they had the item and that I should ask for him (Daniel) when I got there. I told him I would be in this afternoon to get it. When I went to the store, I looked for the item but it was nowhere to be found. A female associate then looked on their computer system and said that there were none in the store. She asked the male associate about it and his response was that, "well, we usually have it". I told him that "usually" doesn't cut it after someone has made a special trip to purchase the item. The female who was helping me asked the store manager and she said that they haven't carried that item in years. There was no apology by the male associate and the store manager could not take 1 minute to address me or the fact that I was upset. It all worked out well, as I went across the street to Target and found what I was looking for - for about half the price and much better customer service! Shame on William Sonoma for their customer service - both employees need training: the male for not even knowing what he is selling in the store and to the store manager who knows nothing about customer service! read more
