Omg. This is a hole in the wall in the best way. No fuss, a few tables, paper menus look like they've seen better days. This is part of how you know you're about to have an epic meal. I'm not going to lie, saw this place on Food Network and knew I had to bring my husband for breakfast. He got the Big Boy Platter with eggs scrambled and a fried pork chop as well as two biscuits and grits. I got two biscuits, sausage patties and smoked sausage. We both had water and coffee. The biscuits were light and fluffy served with packets of jelly. Service was polite but ask for everything you need when they come by. We grabbed a slice of red velvet cake to go. It was moist and delicious with just a bit of icing studded with pecans. All of this was $17.48. We couldn't each get a meal and coffee for the price at Waffle House. If you're open to an adventure and eating at the spot next to the gas station, do it ASAP. The crowds will line up soon I suspect. I'm already planning my return visit. read more

Maybe my expectations were set too high. I found out about this place on Southern and Hungry. If Rutledge likes it, then I should too, right? I was coming for otherworldly sausage. When you arrive, the place looks just like you expect. It is in a gas station and the accommodations are just a little better than what was in the gas station. We found a table right by the kitchen and that gave us a chance to watch biscuits being made, which is always a bit mesmerizing. Our first little hitch came when the server didn't know where a menu was. I think the place caters to locals, which is fine, but if you're reading this, then you most likely aren't a local. My wife wasn't quite getting what she wanted across and so I just suggested the half breakfast to her and the waitress. I got the full breakfast and asked for gravy on the side. Our food arrived sooner than I expected as the place was certainly full. My gravy was missing, but after I had some sausage, I decided not to worry about it. Why? Because it just wasn't that good. It might have been good earlier, but it was overcooked and dry by the time I got it. My grits were nothing to write home about and my egg was a bit overcooked. The biscuit that I saw being made? Best in class. I put the sausage on the biscuit and it almost rescued the sausage. My wife's breakfast was pretty much the same as mine, poorly executed. Maybe I need to go again as they might have been training someone new or something. It is just a bit far for me. Maybe those biscuits will be calling my name and I will revisit this review at that time. read more

I am so embarrassed. I am a LOCAL girl and have never eaten here. The only reason I knew about it was from Guy Fieri's Food Network show "Southern Eats" starring a local couple's son. It was one of the best breakfasts I've ever eaten. I almost cried, remembering my grandmother, as I ate those homemade biscuits. And the fried pork chop reminded of those big farmhouse style breakfasts my relatives made. Quite simply, it was a taste of my childhood. The sausage is homemade, and beware, its a bit spicy. The gravy is brown (as Southerners intended) and has bits of the aforementioned sausage in it. The grits are real, with lumps. I can't say they don't need a touch of refurbishment, but I hope the retain the ambience (currently in the side of a converted gas station). The place is TINY. Get there early, and be prepared to wait. You could go next door and buy some of that good sausage for yourownself. read more

The smoked sausage is to die for and the green (fresh) is just as good but with a different flavor. I have been eating this sausage for over 45 years. It is the same time after time. Those that do not like the flavor must have a problem with their taste buds! This is great stuff! read more

Williams grocery has the best homemade pork sausage around. They have a restaurant attached to the grocery/convenience store called "The Red Door Cafe". They have breakfast and lunch. We've only eaten there for breakfast before hunting trips in Meriwether county. Try their country breakfast with scrambled eggs, grits, homemade bacon, homemade sausage, homemade biscuits too! Delicious!! My son says the French toast is really good too. This morning we saw homemade sausage gravy over a split biscuit. Definitely trying that next time!! read more

This is a hole in the wall but in the good sense. Breakfast is always great. Service can be slow at times but that is usually due to under staffing. Sometimes the one taking your order is also the cook so just be patient and understanding. I recommend trying the sausage biscuit! Both are made from scratch/homemade! read more

OK I live in Texas I called William's grocery this morning and ordered link sausage and bulk sausage to be sent to my house they're going to pack it in dry ice after it's been frozen and ship it USPS. Service over the phone was very helpful very polite what you expect from someone from the south will update review once I receive the product and taste it. With the reviews I've read online and also the reviews from the Food Network southern eats this sausage sounds spectacular. read more

Giving this place one star is being generous. I have been to this so called restuarant on three different occasions passing thru to Columbus. The first visit was maybe close to a year ago. I ate Lunch. Place was kinda dumpy but the waitress was great and the food was the best I have eaten in awhile. Thats where the one star comes from. On my next pass just several months ago I made a quick stop to get breakfast. It took forever to take my order. One lady was running around in circles, literally in circles. I walked out hungry. I went into the cafe and the same lady came into the cafe. I asked her if there was anyone else working there to help her and she stated yes but everyone was busy and there was only 3 of them. I was the only person in the restaurant and just a handful of people on the gas station side. My parents still swear by this place. They are regulars and promised me that if I come at the right time, I will love it. Obviously i cant get the right time. My final visit was made on the 29th of april. I came in the food was good. It stopped there. Some guy waited on me. I asked for unsweet tea I got sweet. I asked for unsweet tea again he rolled his eyes and I got sour unsweet tea. I told him and this idiot shrugged his shoulders at me and walked off. Another customer hollered for somebody in the back and a lady came out and tried to fix it. I give her credit she did her best. She did not charge me for my food. The customer who got her attention told me that she is the cook and usually waits on customers but the man is the owners son and doesnt care if he is there or not. I promised to get my parents there sausage so i went back into the gas station and the boy tells the attendant that he was not "ucking waiting on that asshole". So the lady in the back saw me standing there and came out. I did not buy any sausage but I did tell her what he said. I also told both the young lady and man that I would not be back. If this is the way they treat there customers they would not be in business much longer. They both thought that was funny. So, congratulations Mr and Mrs Williams, you have provided me with the worst service ever. read more

Their Red Door Cafe is a small (about 20 seats) southern "meat and three" cafe on the main road in Haralson. Excellent food and homemade desserts. Open for breakfast and lunch. Today they had choices of chili, fried chicken, hamburger steak, collards, pinto beans, mashed potatoes, rice and gravy, broccoli medley. Desserts included cheesecake, strawberry cake, pecan pie, chocolate pie, German chocolate cake. Including drink (Coke products, sweet tea) and dessert total ran about $10 p/p. read more
