This is a more condensed and smaller H-Mart. If you could go to the Doraville or Duluth location, I would go there instead since you will probably get better food options. The initial shopping cart we got was so old and rickety that it made such a loud noise throughout the store. One of the customers got annoyed by it and offered us his cart instead. The produce here was not well kept either. Some fruit had mold growing on them already. The main reason for coming here was because I was craving KBBQ. Their meat selection was slim and their side dishes were slimmer. One of the draws of H-Mart is their food court and this one was definitely lacking. We landed in Atlanta Airport and checked into a hotel by the airport for an event. After debating where to eat, we found a Korean Fried chicken place, 92CHICKEN & KOREAN FOOD, inside H-Mart. We took Uber. The choice of food was a lot more than expected. We ordered Korean chicken, Beef soup, Beef Rib Galbi, and Spicy squid. The portions were generous and delicious. If we went back to the area, we will visit the store again. We also visited the Tous Les Jours bakery for dessert and coffee. Yum! We were so full that we ended up not needing to eat dinner. We also bought canned coffee/tea drinks for the next few days staying in a hotel. I hope to go back to H-Mart near the Atlanta airport! read more

My first visit to H-Mart! Omg, I can't believe I'm saying that. Atlanta is such an amazing place, it's wild to me that we're lucky enough to have multiple locations of this market. Because I've never been, this Riverdale location is my first experience overall. My girls and I spent a day out in the city and decided to visit a few international markets starting with H-Mart. Lucky me! I didn't go in with any detailed shopping list (beyond my beloved kimchi) but simply a debit card and excitement. (Bad combo) When we arrived on a weekday morning during the holidays, the store was busy but not overrun with customers lucky for us all. As soon as we walked in, we were tossing things into our cart from the array of items outside on the covered terrace before entering. When we entered, our wallets didn't stand a chance. There was a little food court and clothing store that seemed a bit... quiet. I didn't truly venture over to that area, so next time I'll check it out. This H-Mart was huge. Incredibly spacious and filled with so many goods, I was overwhelmed as soon as I stepped inside. Not going with a list was a bad idea that I won't make again. But I loved the variety of items across the store. We took our time going up almost every single aisle, tossing our favorites and new interests into our baskets. The prices for some international items we came across were better than we'd seen in our everyday markets, so we happily indulged. The prepared food section, the seafood and meat items and condiment items blew my mind! And the ramen, omg. If you're a ramen lover, you'll love the options available here. I think that the only prices that seemed out of control to me were the appliances. In a world with Amazon, I love to shop around and these numbers were crazy. I ended up walking out with some teas, lots of condiments, two brands of kimchi, 3 types of ramen, snacks, and Lord knows what else. After having sadly dropped my friends off at the airport, I needed a pick-me-up while grocery shopping. What better way to improve your mood than going to Hmart that I didn't realize was so close by? As with most other locations, the layout is the same as well as most of the produce. Staff were so nice and even gave me a free Hmart reuseable bag since I had brought my own reuseable bags! I was able to restock up on my kimchi, pickle daikon, udon noodles, and other niche Asian ingredients. Although a little pricey than some other markets, it is still worth the trip. Would come to this location again the next time I am in the area! read more

This store has a great selection of items you can't find at regular grocery stores. I also appreciate how fresh their produce is because the Kroger's near me rarely has that, unfortunately. I love going to my local Hmart in NJ. There's good variety of authentic Korean meals at food court and fresh produce and meat. I expected no difference at all other Hmart. Sadly, this location was such a huge disappointment. Upon entering, I noticed the food court was practically empty because it was closed, one shop next to another. The tables were also dirty. I decided to see if they have any kimbap inside where usually all the pickled veggies and prepackaged food are stacked. Disappointed again, there's none so I've left the store empty hand which has never happened with me in any Hmart. read more

This definitely isn't the best H MART I have ever been to... Because their sashimi section lacks... In fact, there basically is no sashimi section, it's just fresh fish and fish cut and packed in fillets. No blocks of fish ready to be eaten sashimi style or cut for sushi. You would have to do that yourself. I basically come here just for the frozen squid but realizing the prices are the same as J Mart in PTC, I really don't have to travel this far away for these frozen bags. This market does have a wide selection of everything else but fish wise, meh. But maybe I'm just spoiled because I'm coming from LA. read more

I've been to every H-Mart in Atlanta and this is the one I would not recommend going to the most. There was a lack of products and not many businesses there in the food court. It was quite empty for a weekend compared to the other H-mart I have been in town. The other ones I visited were weekdays and I could barely find parking but there was a variety of items. Some of the items in the H-mart were expired and I didn't notice until I was at check out and had to ask the cashier to put them back. I was also surprised that they did not accept my H-mart card (mobile app card). Other H-mart also gave a 10% for students and took my card. The cashier refused to and I just paid and left. There is the Tous bakery in the front which was worth the visit as I drove back. read more

A guy friend brought me here. He swears this is the only place he buys produce and fresh fish. (more on the fish later) I've started going without him shortly after he introduced me to the place. Like everyone says, their produce prices have got to match or be the lowest in the city. I've only been on Sunday's and although the place is busy, its nothing like going to the Farmers Market or the grocery store on a Sunday afternoon. Sometimes they have two packs or raspeberries for $2.50 and when I go to Kroger/Publix even when they are on sale, they aren't $2.50 for a two pack. Fresh seafood counter, but the last time I spoke with the guy that introduce me to this place, he says he no longer gets his seafood here because they pack it on ice in the evening and then allow it to thaw out during the day. I guess that makes a different if you want FRESH seafood, but I'v bought the skinless whiting and shrimp from here and had no issue with the freshness. There is an restaurant on site and its mostly what I'd call "chinese" and I tried their seafood soup and was not impressed with it. There is also a bakery with cakes, pies and other sweets available for purchase. They always have eggs on sale and there is almost any sort of meat you'd expect in a place like this already pre-packaged for purchase. I honestly don't know why the average rating is so low here. You can find so many ingredients that you just can't find at any other market. Last time I was here we were able to find all the ingredients needed for Tom Kha Gai soup. I'd say the prices were really good but since this place is the only shop in town that carries a lot of stuff I have no reference point. I don't think it was terribly expensive for the products we were getting. The soup turned out great as well as the rice and seasoning that went along with it. I think the biggest reason for the five star rating above all else is the fact that you they carry so many things that you just can't find anywhere else and the prices are not high like you would expect from such a specialty store. If you are cooking any kind of Asian meal, it's worth it to take a trip to Hmart if there is one that Is anywhere close to you! read more

I can only get certain things from this store specifically like brown sugar boba ice cream, marinated spicy pork, delicious honey twist snacks . So yummy! However, they have some amazing cooking appliances, delicious ramen selections, and even skincare products! They also have a great bakery with fresh breads, sweets and tea! read more

This going to be a lengthy review so buckle up! A friend bought me a cod fillet several days ago & when I got home I put it in the freezer. Yesterday evening I I thawed it in the fridge, took it out today & there was a strong unpleasant odor. I called to find out if that strong smell was normal bc I've never purchased from their store (I've bought cod from Kroger & didn't notice a pungent odor after unthawing in the fridge). The seafood employee said yes when asked if it was supposed to have a strong odor. He said yes to questions I asked thereafter hanging up on me. I don't think that he understood the questions being asked. I called back & spoke with (perhaps) the "manager" explaining the situation & was told to bring it back with a receipt. Because I didn't have the receipt, I couldn't return & threw it away. So basically I'm saying when buying their cod notice the odor of the fish when you get home & save your receipt. read more

The hallmark of an Hmart or Super Hmart is their super-fresh produce at good, sometimes great, prices. This is especially true if you like the Asian varieties. Even though we don't usually buy meats from them, they also offer a fairly extensive selection, again for the Asian clientele especially, along with that fresh fish counter that's usually bustling with customers. We usually try to hit this place if we're driving back from Atlanta and not flying, since it's on the way. But I'd say over the years, they have slowed down a little. Not sure what the ethnic make-up in the Riverdale is like, but I've seen other Hmarts that are more busy. The food stands that used to boast 4 restaurants is now down to one - but it's a good one. Last time, we took food with us to eat on the road, and it was great! Just one more reason to stop! read more

I can't believe I'm giving H Mart two stars. After visiting all five of the Atlanta area H Marts, I can confidently say the Riverdale H Mart is the worst. I mean, what happened here? Have the H Mart executives been here since the grand opening because this place looks like it's taken a turn for the worst. Let's start with the food court, one of my favorite places at any H Mart. I visited on a weeknight at 8pm and out of all the restaurants, I think only two were open. Judging from the amount of people at the food court, I guess it's understandable that they're closing early since there's not enough business to sustain these eateries. Two funny things I noticed about the food court: (1) there is an "AMERICAN" stall with hot dogs, hamburgers, and hoagies and (2) they have a "Ming's BBQ," though I'm sure it has no relation to the Ming's BBQ on Buford Highway or Pleasant Hill. The food court stalls at the other H Marts have nicely printed menus with pictures of the food above each counter. Some of the stalls here have menus handwritten on paper and poster board. Nice. The lightning at this H Mart is not so good and this applies to all sections of the store from produce to seafood. It's so dark and drab in here that you wonder if they're trying to cut back on their energy bill. At H Mart, the stickers on the produce say "Produce That's As Fresh As It Gets!" That couldn't be any further from the truth as evidenced by this photo I took of some kumquats and mushrooms I happened to see (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/atpf1dh2ZjzwevYAUZr8jg?select=db9RovoQsCnOGYAAN3yCpA). Not only that, but the pricing on produce is higher here than at the other H Marts (but still less expensive than Kroger or Publix) and many items are low in stock, out of stock, or not carried at all. In general, and as other Yelpers have already mentioned, this H Mart carries less Asian inventory and more American and Hispanic inventory. The seafood section is OK. The bakery at the front of the store, Tous Les Jours, mirrors the some of the same undesirable qualities as the produce section. Finally, as you enter/exit the store, you'll notice a gift shop on your right with flashing neon lights and a sign that reads in big, bold print: "10K Gold Jewelry." It gave off the vibe of a pawn shop. From my visit to the Riverdale H Mart, I've learned that not all H Marts are created equal. Needless to say, I didn't have a good shopping experience here and probably will never be back. read more

I think if you are comparing this H-Mart location to the other ones up in Duluth, Doraville, etc.; you might come away feeling disappointed. The interior is not as nice, the feel of the supermarket is not as lively, and the food court area is rather depressing, seeing as only 2 restaurants are open. However, being the optimist that I am, I do believe that this location has a lot of potential to really impact the location that it is in. Being located far away from the traditional Korean neighborhoods of Atlanta, perhaps this branching out of locations will bring an influx of people into South Atlanta. I feel like if they manage to fill out the food court, the potential of this H-Mart will really rise. That being said, this place has a solid Korean bakery. The mix of fish, meat, and produce is good. And the Korean restaurant that they do have in the food court serves up good home cooking with some gigantic portions, making the food a real steal for the price you pay. Hopefully if I ever swing by in the future, this place will have improved for the better. read more

I have visited this location several times and each time I got 0 customer service from the employees. I have had to ask the worker for help finding an item, but they do not speak English. The cashiers, who does speak English never greet, communicate or thanks you throughout your entire transaction. So, on 1/1/23 @ 7:36pm I made a purchase and the same thing happen with the cashier. I saw a guy walking around seeming to be a manager. I opposed him and asked if he was a manager, he just stared at me, so I ask again, and his response was "I am the manger over customer service What do you need" I ask again if he was a manager? His response was in a RUDE voice "I told you that three times what do you need. I did tell him why I was asking at the same time letting him know how rude he was being to me as a manager to a customer. So, I just walked away. This is exactly why you cannot expect any try of courteous customer service from the crew LOOK AT THE TYPE OF MANAGEMENT THESE COMPANYS ARE HIRING. I will not be returning. The number 1 place for all Asian groceries! The fresh produce and seafood they stock is really amazing. Thanks to Hmart, I was able to set up hotpot at home. I have been looking for a good hotpot base and the thinly sliced beef , and thankfully they had both. The hotpot soup base at $2.50 is a steal, because it makes a huge pot. The assorted fried fish balls is also really great and affordable at $3.99, with fried tofu adding some more texture to the hotpot at $1.69. Also got enoki mushrooms, bokchoy, napa cabbage to go along with it. Not to forget the apple soju at $3.99, which compliments the hotpot oh so well. Flavored soju is really overpriced at restaurants so incredibly thankful to find it at this Hmart. The store is very clean and the staff is helpful. I will definitely be back to stock up on other things. read more

Depending on what side of town you are, it may be a good alternative of not going all the way to Dekalb Farmers Market, Buford Market. It has pretty much have a lot what you need: Fruits, veggies, asian produce, fresh seafood, tea shop, cafe. It has a lot of ingridients to what i like to put on the grill. The customer service is a tad bit slow but overall, definitely a place to keep in back pocket to grocery shop. Grade: B+ read more

This H Mart was my regular grocery store. It is a lot smaller than other H marts in the area but also less crowded. I did not particularly find the fresh produce better quality but they were cheap. You will pretty much find everything you need there in terms of Asian groceries (Korean, Japanese and Chinese). The food court closes early and most of the stores are closed on Sunday. I love the bakery: the best part of this place! Around 8pm, they do buy 2 get 1 free. I loved their mocha cake too. The one bad thing about this place is the bathroom. It is absolutely disgusting....I do not wanna know what it is like in the back where they prepare meat and fish, and I certainly do not buy any meat or seafood or prepared meals (side dishes etc) from this place. read more

This place was disappointing. I like how they have all the Asian necessities that I would need. I liked the fresh fish area where they don't charge you extra to take off the scales or cut the fish. There was a good variety! The main thing that I just could not get over was how old the produce was. Couldn't find good broccoli. Mustard leaves weren't the greatest. Most of the Chinese eggplants were pretty soft. If I would have bought my produce from here, I would definitely have to cook it within the same day. If not, I'm sure they would spoil. One of the best supermarkets in the College Park/Riverdale area to purchase fresh fruit, vegetables, and fish/meat at really good economic prices by the pound. Another highlight is the abundance of spices, beans, and grains from all over the world, more specifically from Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. The customer service is standard and the store is clean and well organized. Also, they have a delectable French inspired Korean bakery called Tous Les Jours which is only one of the side hustles going on in there. You can find a Chinese restaurant and variety store in there as well. I adore this place but won't give five stars due to the high price of average American staples like cheese, bread, peanut butter, oatmeal, and tomato sauce for example. Typical Korean market that predominately sells a mix of Hispanic products, Korean, and a mix of Asian food products as well as fresh fruit, vegetables, and seafood. It does smell where the seafood is located at, I wish they had a better way to conceal the smell. It was pretty bad, especially when I was pregnant which is even worse. On the weekends it can be pretty packed, its a big building but they cram so much products and shelves that the aisle are very narrow. read more
