The initial shopping cart we got was so old and rickety that it made such a loud noise throughout the store. One of the customers got annoyed by it and offered us his cart instead. The produce here was not well kept either. Some fruit had mold growing on them already. The main reason for coming here was because I was craving KBBQ. Their meat selection was slim and their side dishes were slimmer. One of the draws of H-Mart is their food court and this one was definitely lacking. Definitely a hard skip and just go elsewhere for Korean/Asian groceries.

It's super dark and doesn't present the safest environment after dark. Immediately upon walking into the store there was an odor that smelled like old meat. Though the odor was very present, the store was very clean and organized. As Wayfield is my go to for the "Pick 5" I proceeded to the back to see what the meat selection was like. To my dismay, it was minimal. Now, in all honesty, to the defense of the store; it was a Sunday and it was after 6 pm. Based on how the meat area looked I gather that today must have been a day of meat purchases. Nonetheless, I picked the best of the slim pickings and proceeded to checkout. Self Checkout was closed and there was only one cashier. Though he was very quick and efficient, there was still a wait. Overall, the store wasn't a bad experience. I hope they look into the odor as that isn't an inviting fragrance to walk into.

Everything was hot, fresh and flavorful but the portion size for my fave Drunken Noodles seemed smaller than I remember. Same price whether you order chicken, beef, pork or tofu. We ordered Pad Thai ($17.95), Panang Curry ($16.95), Deep Sea Combo Curry ($18.95), Drunken Noodles ($17.95) and two appetizers - Satay ($8.95) and Cream Cheese Rolls ($6.95). Including the well-earned 20% gratuity the bill was $113. Highlights - Panang Curry, Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai. Cream cheese rolls were divine but the portion is small and there are only three. Deep Sea Combo Curry was a sizeable portion but the flavor was lacking. Satay was a real letdown. Although the small curry chicken skewers were seasoned well, the meat was overcooked so it tasted dry and tough. Cucumber salad and peanut sauce couldn't save it. In sum, I still recommend Taste of Thailand but it's no longer the budget friendly option. More like a special treat minus the ambiance.
