My mom and I have been using Dr. Walsh since Jan. 2019. At first, he came across as very nice and devoted. This changed with the passage of time. First off, he started discussing political issues and tried to solicit our opinion, which is very unprofessional. In March 2021, he told my mom to take 3 walks daily, without stopping, in order to help with a certain adjustment. During one such walk she tripped and seemed to be okay at first. Sometime later, while we were still under his care, back pain set in. Things continued to worsen, despite Walsh's adjustments, we were coming in every 3 weeks on average. Walsh couldn't get to the bottom of the issue. Strange for a chiropractor who claims to have 40+ years of experience. He also sent us to a Dr. Brown down the block. She diagnosed this as lumbar radiculopathy and gave us a physical therapist to go to, both of which turned out so be scammers who accomplished nothing! We went back to Walsh and kept on coming to him until Dec. 2022 at which time we took a leave of absence, as Walsh wasn't really doing anything for us. No improvement to the injury and my mother still has difficulty walking. All this time Walsh was just taking money and pretending. Doing some fake adjustment that just put her in more pain and fixed nothing. Last time I spoke to Walsh over the phone was in Jan 2023. He promised to do research and find a resolution but has still not called me back. Walsh also ignores my emails. Stay away from this doctor. read more

I went to Bill several months before Covid began. Complete muscle atrophy 10 years prior had left my thighs weak. After our 1st treatment, I knew as I walked home that there was an improvement. Absolutely amazing! I was suffering from really bad lower back pain and tried months of acupuncture, massages, yoga, etc. but after just two visits with Dr. Walsh I am now completely pain free and mobile. I mean I was in A LOT of pain before - so much that I couldn't get out of bed in the morning and I'd sometimes wake up in the middle of the night in agony - and I'm simply amazed at how quickly he identified and corrected the issue. Been seeing Dr Bill for 20 years off and on, and he is simply the best. He connects magically with his patients, is a brilliant diagnostician, and more that once I've walked in bent over with pain and walked out of his office fully upright, just needing some ice. Gift from God my ass! I called to make an appointment, my first visit, and was told that Dr. Walsh no longer accepts insurance. First visit is $120 CASH, and each visit afterwards is $60. So if I understand Dr. Walsh correctly, he's chosen to forgo the health of his patients in order to stockpile his earnings. The money that I'm setting aside each month for health insurance is worthless if doctors opt out. This demonstrates no concern to do what's right, only self-interest and greed. read more

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. After years of back aches that got progressively worse (as back aches do) things were finally bad enough that I caved and went to Bill Walsh at the recommendation of a friend. I had only TWO visits with him. It's now five years later and I've had zero pain. None. I forgot that my back used to hurt. Turns out that backache isn't something you have to just learn to live with. (My posture is totally different now, by the way. I'm taller.) Since my two visits with him, I've brought many people there. He literally saved my husband's life who had debilitating pain and couldn't move. Several friends have told me that he's changed their life. One friend who was told by practitioners that she'd be facing a lifetime of disabilities, saw Bill for numerous visits over a few months, and now she has her body back. She's completely healthy and pain free. I would travel any distance and pay any amount of money to see him if my back hurt. Dr. Walsh is a magic chiropractor elf. He has unlocked my neck and shoulders in ways that I didn't think were possible. I don't see him that often (because he fixes it so that you don't need to), but I can always count on him pulling me out of whatever crisis I land myself in (because it is almost always something I do to myself). It scares me to think that he will one day retire and I might have to stop taking stupid risks in yoga. Dr Walsh is a living legend in the dance and bodyworker community for very good reason. I am generally nervous about/skeptical of many brusque forms of chiropracty, but so many people recommended Dr Walsh that I agreed to give him a try, and I found him to offer a far more sophisticated, careful and nuanced form of chiropractic treatment than I had known existed. He has surreal, nearly mystical talent for listening to the intelligence of the body, gently preparing your body to receive a treatment, and taking your body as far as you are prepared to go and shift on any given day. He is among the most talented practitioners I have ever received treatment from, and in a single visit he gave me freedom of movement in my neck and pelvis that I had not experienced in a decade. I found Dr. Walsh through Yelp, and read the positive reviews and decided I had to give him a chance (having never seen a chiro before). Dr Walsh and his staff are very friendly and welcoming. Dr Walsh assesses and works with your issues from a rounded perspective - so you can expect to get advice on vitamin deficiencies as well as your joints and bones. My problem is that although he treated me for several months, Dr Walsh did not work out that I had a herniated disc (later diagnosed by MRI). During my treatment with him, my pain increased and my mobility decreased considerably, before returning to about the level it had been when treatment began. The experience cost me around $700. It turned out that what I needed was stretching and strengthening exercises from a PT specialist, not 'adjustment'. Maybe it's too much to ask a chiropractor to make a diagnosis and recognise when chiropractice itself is not the answer. My advice is to see a medical doctor before committing to an expensive course of chiropractic treatment with someone who doesn't necessarily have the knowledge needed to make an accurate diagnosis. read more

I saw Dr Walsh over a period of several months in 2012. I found him to be a warm and empathetic person, and I appreciated his intellect and sense of humour. However, in assessing and treating my neck pain he failed to notice a herniated disc in my neck that was subsequently diagnosed by MRI scan. The course of treatment he gave me actually made things much worse - for some time, my husband had to pull me of bed in the mornings, because sitting up became too painful. My advice would be to get a X-rays / MRIs and a diagnosis from a clinical physician before embarking on treatment with Dr Walsh. Although I like his personality very much, I am dismayed to have invested considerable time and money on treatment that did not address the underlying problems (a course of PT and home exercise eventually sorted things out for me). read more

Dr. Walsh has revolutionized my health and well-being in just two office visits. As a retired dancer who has long suffered from lower back pain, I can say he is one of the two absolute best body practitioners I have ever experienced in over 35 years of receiving treatment from dozens of them. His intuition and intelligence about the inner workings of the body and interdisciplinary approach to chiropractry put him in a league all his own. He has incredibly in-depth knowledge of the interplay between the skeletomuscular and nervous systems, of how to intercept those well-intentioned, but sometimes unhelpful, compensatory muscular control decisions that your nervous system is constantly making "in the background", which may be giving rise to pain or discomfort in your body. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that anyone with knee, foot, neck, back, etc. pain go see him. Honestly, I would not recommend Dr. Walsh to anyone. I've been to many chiropractors before, and have never seen such a level of incompetence. He love's to talk (too much) about anatomy, but it doesn't seem like he knows how to apply it in any kind of positive way. I thought he was going to break my leg when he was trying to do an adjustment (which by the way, didn't work) and he jumped on it, and my knee hit the table (I have a big bruise as proof). My level of pain is much worse than before I went to see him. He kept talking about efficacy, and I have say that his level of efficacy is at 0. Do yourself a favor, and don't waste your money ($175) and time on this guy. I have a feeling Walsh edits his reviews, mine disappeared after I posted it. Try Fernando Mendez in Sunset Park (6102 3rd St.) - he only charges $25 and is amazing. read more
