The dentists here are understanding and compassionate. My first visit was scary as I knew it wouldn't be good news. But Dr. Wells was very empathetic and made me feel comfortable. The staff are amazing, they've all been there for many years, which speaks volumes on how they are treated and they too love what the do. Any questions I have, they are quick to respond. I highly recommend coming here to anyone, not just cancer patients, but it is comforting to know that here, they are experienced in helping people who may experience issues with their mouths due to chemo treatments.

Initially I had to make two (one for XR and exam and another for cleaning) since I'm a new patient, but luckily they were able to take me off the waitlist later on and I had both appointments on the same day. Today was my first visit and it was so smooth. The office is very modern with water and coffee (or tea?) in the lobby. Facilities are clean. My hygienist was Olya, who explained every step and was thorough in her cleaning. She also answered a bunch of questions so by the time the dentist came to examine me I had none left. She also booked my next appointment while we had some downtime which expedited my checkout. I would definitely recommend seeing her! And they accept OHSU dental insurance!

I am a person who likes to be informed before making decisions, so I ask a lot of questions given that insurance only provides an annual limit and then everything else is out of pocket I like to plan and prepare. I also am aware that when you have benefits and you don't use them by the end of the year they disappear, so I worked in coordination with the office to understand what was needed to perform seating my implant before my insurance benefits ended at the end of the year 2022. I made an informed decision to go in and have the final crown seated and when I was in their office - in the chair, they began to change the parameters by which I made my decision. They misrepresented contacting my insurance company, misrepresented payment from my insurance company & misrepresented the agreement that we had in place. I know this from correspondence from my insurance company. In the end, Dr. Fujii promised and agreed to the original terms. However, Kim was unbelievably rude and condescending in that process. My commitment was to make a payment of the remaining balance not covered by insurance within two weeks of services provided which shouldn't have been a problem. However, my circumstances changed dramatically as my grandfather died suddenly & I communicated this new challenge to them in an email dated January 17th and told them it was my interest to make good on the payment as soon as possible. I wrote them May 11th that circumstances allowed for the payment to either be made at the end of May or early June and was forthcoming. I never received word from them and instead received a collections notice. I paid the collections company within a week of receiving it which was again early June. The collections office confirmed receipt on June 5th. I phoned into Portland Dental on June 29th to make another appointment because the tooth next to where they seated the crown appears to be cracked and I am in great pain. I was told by Kim that I had been non-communicative that they hadn't received payments, that they wouldn't see me until they had received payment (which they confirmed was at the creditor that they sent it to) and then she insinuated I lied about any email correspondence, and that they had never received any email correspondence. She then spoke over me and was condescending for the length of the phone call. When I asked to have my files so that I could find another dentist to be able to help me she insisted they could only send the records to another dental office and would not send them to me. I pushed to have the files sent to me and she requested an email be sent her for the request to which I responded "you haven't received or acknowledged my previous email correspondence, What would make this different?" And I asked for an email confirmation of receipt of the email that I sent out so that I could begin tracking on finding another dentist and she insinuated yet again that I have not provided previous communications and that I was lying and she said I could prove it to her and send those additional emails again. The email request was sent on June 29, 2023 at 1:09 pm and received an email confirmation from them regarding the request on the same day at 3:23 pm that they had received the request to provide me with my dental records and again she asked for proof of the email correspondence. I have done nothing but try to support them and promote them by referring over 25 friends to them. No one should be treated so callously, which such dismissal, condescension and deceit. Their delay in providing these records, which I believe to be intentional, has caused me undo pain waiting with an aching cavity they were alerted to when I called on June 29th. Legally they are required to provide them within 14 calendar days and I have still not received all records as of July 25th. I left a message with Kim for Dr Fujii to phone me on June 29th and never heard from him.

One of my teeth became such a problem that all of a sudden, I needed to find a dentist fast! Not only was I lucky to find someone close that could see me quickly, but it ends up that every visit since has been just great. The office staff is helpful and friendly, the hygienists are caring, and the doctor is really fun and just happens do amazing work! Even when I was super nervous, the doctor and his staff were able to help me through it all with no problems! The office staff helped me navigate my insurance coverage even though doing so was a troublesome and tricky process. I ran into an issue with my supplemental insurance and when I needed to obtain information from the office, it was a matter of continuing to follow up with them to make sure I eventually got what I needed. Now that my problem teeth have been taken care of, I can focus on preventative care. It is such a good feeling to know that if I do have any serious needs down the road, I can trust that I will receive the quality of work I need, all while sitting in a comfy chair!

We recently had a housefire and needed to meet with a contractor at the same time of as the dental appointment. Unfortunately, the office insisted on charging us a $50 cancellation fee for missing the appointment. There are some things in life which you have no control over such as when contractors will start to repair your house. Some flexibility would've been greatly appreciated! All that said, we will most likely return to Dr Forster as he is a good dentist.

I went to see Dr. Forster for tooth pain and ended up needing a crown for a cracked molar. Dr. Forster's manner is gentle and welcoming, and he was very kind and talked me through everything thoroughly before any work commenced. There were a couple of moments during the process where I was obviously needing a break and he suggested such, and didn't make me feel like he was rushed or impatient at all. The entire team was skillful and kind. I feel like I finally found a dentist I'm comfortable with!

They did this sanding technique instead of drilling out my fillings so I was in and out in less than a half hour! They walked me through everything they were doing, so no surprises as well.
