I wanted to get a second opinion regarding the treatment that was recommended to me. I completely respect that dentists have their own professional recommendations, and I understand they may believe certain procedures are necessary. However, I also believe patients have the right to seek a second opinion before making a decision. Since I currently have no pain, discomfort, or concerns, I asked if I could simply receive the basic cleaning that my insurance covers. I was told they would not provide it because of other treatment recommendations. While I respect their policy, it wasn't the outcome I was hoping for. I then requested copies of my dental records so I could consult another dentist. I was told I needed to sign a release form, which was fine. The office sent the form by email, but it ended up in my spam folder, so I didn't see it until Monday morning. Once I found it, I completed the form and went to the office to obtain my records. Throughout the process, I felt like I had to work much harder than necessary just to get information and access my own records. During one phone call, I explained my situation to an employee, and instead of telling me she was transferring me, I was placed on silence. A different person eventually picked up, and I had to explain everything all over again. Overall, I left feeling like communication could have been much better. I respect the clinical judgment of the providers, but I didn't feel the office made it easy for me to ask questions or obtain my records for a second opinion. Based on my personal experience, I would choose another dental office in the future. And on top I asked I'll be there in 20 min to picked my records and I showed up 1 hour later and still made me wait to do what I asked. So unprofessional service.

Not sure how this was determined, because it was a rushed job. Simply looked at a few teeth with a mirror and made the determination. Did not even have the x-rays in the room to go over. Sought a second opinion from another dentist, who determined that #2 tooth was healthy and #30 was not. The irony is that he used the x-rays taken at Gentle Dental. He also used other methods and conversation that a place emphasizing profit over care would not be concerned about. In any case, this place is either selling services not required or incompetent. Either are disqualifiers. If proper care is expected see a true dentist in private practice and not a dental mill.

Never this well we aren't sure. You guys need to get your act together. Some us aren't rich. We can't just apply for credit or come up with an extra $500. I definitely won't be coming back. I did not receive any EOBs, and my insurance was not billed for eight months. I finally received a bill after 11 months, which incorrectly claimed the balance was 90 days past due. Additionally, the dental hygienist was late for every appointment and performed unauthorized services that resulted in additional costs. Her negative demeanor and the way she communicated regarding my dental health were also quite distressing. Go elsewhere!!

I explained that I did confirm through the text system, just like we always have. Claudia at the front desk was very kind and explained they've been having issues with the confirmation system and said they could still see my daughter. A couple technicians came out and said they would get her in shortly, but then another technician came out and said my daughter had been removed from the schedule because we didn't confirm. When I explained what the front desk had told us about the system issue, she said it didn't matter because they were no longer taking 4 PM appointments. When I said maybe we should just leave, she said yes, we should. The manager who we have known for a very long time was standing there during this entire interaction and didn't say a word. After nearly 10 years as patients, being told to leave over what appears to be a system error was shocking. There are plenty of dentists in the area who are actually "gentle" and treat families with kindness and respect. We will be taking our family to one of them instead. I hope the office takes a closer look at how situations like this are handled in the future so other long-time patients aren't treated the same way.

We came in first thing Monday morning and was able to get an appointment the next morning. The staff was so friendly and caring. They walked us through everything and went over the payment plans. I highly recommend this place to anyone. It maybe took an hour for everything. They truly care about you and your teeth here. They make sure you are comfortable and not in any pain. **READ BEFORE USING THIS DENTISTRY**…read more Extremely disappointed in my experience with Northwest Reno Smiles and would recommend every single person to turn away or get a second opinion before proceeding with any work from this office. Here's my story... With new insurance came the need for a new dentist. After an initial visit I was told that a routine cleaning would not suffice and was quoted a few thousand dollars for a deep cleaning/scaling. With some research, it was found that the pricing was higher than average but agreed to the procedure, trusting it was needed. After the cleaning was finished, it was recommended that I meet with the offices contracted Periodontist for a post cleaning consult which I was told was protocol after the deep clean. Within 5 minutes of the meeting the Periodontist told me that "due to the severity of my periodontist" I needed osseous surgery in 3 quadrants of my mouth and was given a quote near $20k before insurance. This was jarring. Not just the cost, but the severity of a bone graft surgery given I am in my 30s with no mouth/teeth pain. After requesting my X-rays and records I immediately went to a periodontal specialist for a second opinion. After meeting with the specialist, they found that not only is an osseous surgery completely unnecessary, but that I don't have any signs of periodontist. They also commented on the absolute unnecessary need for a deep cleaning/scaling. It's hard enough to find any person or corporation you can trust but take my advice and stay clear of Northwest Reno Smiles. Absolute scam.

From the initial call yesterday and staff getting me "as early as friday".....which i was happy with...than, 20 minutes later, a call from them saying they had a cancelation and if I want, "they can see me tomorrow at 1"... I said hack yes! Came in, filled the forms, within no time I was taken to get full 3d screening and X rays and within 10 minutes I was on Dr Gary Sukienik chair! He promptly and kindly examined me and told me that eventhough i came for the broken tooth, that tooth is nit his main concern as much as the one across and in the rear (#15)... he went over my options , we decided on a custom feeling for the broken one and crown for the bad one, he was extreamly reasonable and even gave me extra loving once he heard I was a disabled veteran and literally said to me..."if you can handle the chair. I'll get on you now and fix it all"....and he did...3.5 hours later, im all set and done, they do everything in house and the technology I've seen them use was mind-blowing! I highly recommend these guys!
