If you're looking for an amazing hairstylist, look no further than Natalie Jean!…read more Natalie has truly become a golden treasure to our family. My oldest daughter found her, and before long, she became the hairstylist for all of us. From the very first appointment, she made us feel welcomed and cared for. She is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, talented, and versatile. Whether it's creating beautiful, natural-looking color or giving the perfect haircut, Natalie consistently exceeds our expectations. She takes the time to listen, offers honest professional advice, and always makes sure you leave feeling confident and beautiful. The salon itself is absolutely beautiful, and everyone there is warm and welcoming. One thing that really stood out to me was seeing so many long-term clients--that alone speaks volumes about the quality of service and the relationships they've built over the years. We are so grateful to have found Natalie and hope she'll keep us as clients for many years to come! And Mario... you have a true diamond. Thank you for creating such a wonderful salon and team. We couldn't recommend Natalie more highly!

When I needed a last minute haircut the weekend before Christmas, I remembered and asked her where she went. I called and they were able to squeeze me in last minute. The salon is small and features tropical decor. It is very pleasant, and as the previous reviewer mentioned, has a "Steel Magnolias" feel to it. My stylist was friendly, listened well, and gave great suggestions. She clarified things well before hacking away with the scissors. It was definitely the happiest I've been with a cut in awhile. They use some new product lines I am unfamiliar with, but they smelled AMAZING. Overall, I'd say this is a great place to go, especially to make major changes. The price isn't as high as many salons but still high enough that I won't be able to return each time I get a trim; I will probably come back every few visits.

After a week, when I realized my hair just wasn't "blond enough" - she squeezed me in to apply more bleach and a toner!! She's a professional who is also very nice and competent. I will definitely go back, again & again. As another poster mentioned, don't expect a GLOW or a ROBERT ANDREWS DAY SPA, but you can expect exceptional results. And that's what really matters!!! **(I'm only giving it FOUR STARS because the owner seemed less than thrilled that I came back and wanted more bleach applied - because "fixing" is usually on the house - and she didn't consider my request to be a "fix." I tipped Kasey a second time because again, she's a pleasure to work with!!)

I wanted to share my experience I had with Steven at his "temp" location…read more I'm a new client and found Ruby Salon searching the internet (bad idea). I was prepared for my appointment I had a picture of a cut and color saved to my phone. When showing Steven the picture he seemed like he understood what I wanted; chin length cool blonde almost platinum hair with some low lights added so it wouldn't be such high maintenance on keeping the color up. My hair was already previously bleached and toned to the lightest blonde but needed the warmth taken out (I mentioned I do not like the gold tone in my hair) and the length was just above shoulders. Steven repeated what I wanted and went to mix the color. During the foiling process Steven showed no interest in trying to engage, which was fine since I'm not big on making small talk. Once my hair was processed rinsed and shampooed I went back to his station and looked in the mirror and noticed my hair still had very warm (gold) tones and the foiling sections looked very thick and stripy, I gasped at the sight of my hair but thought it's still wet and not parted the way I normally part it so I didn't say anything. He turns me away from the mirror and starts sectioning my hair to cut it. He starts in the back and at first it felt like he was getting the length right but then he started using the thinning shears A LOT. I hate thinning shears and as a stylist myself (that's right you heard correctly) don't use thinning shears especially on bleached hair! He continued to cut my sides and that's when I really stared to notice how short he was going and he continued to use thinning shears! Mind you this whole time I did not see my hair because I was turned away from the mirror. He then started to blow dry and round brush my now very short hair, he then adds product and turns me to face the mirror.... I couldn't believe what I saw. He completely messed up my hair cut color and OMG style. I don't even know or have a reference to what decade that style was from, maybe 90's. I was in shock! I told him "wow this is really short and the color is not right". He said "oh I guess I should've looked at the picture again before cutting" , you think, or maybe talk to your client! Then he asked well what about the color do you like that I said NO but I'll make it work. Thankfully he did not charge me for the cut but it didn't make up for the humility I felt leaving the salon! My husband was very sweet and said it looks nice. We get to the car and he said "why would he have styled your hair like that? " I'm wondering this as well! Later that evening I washed it and checked over everything, I'm a hairstylist. I noticed some of the low lights didn't go to the ends of my hair and that the low lights did not match my natural at all (ashy level 6) it was a warm level maybe 7, the blonde still looked the same (very warm) except where he foiled in bleach his foils bled and the sections are very blotchy. I usually don't tell stylist I'm also a hair stylist because it makes them nervous but I'm thinking maybe I should've said something.

Not only that but she burned me in 3 different places (my arm, chin, and hooha) this was a week ago. On top of that she wouldn't wax parts of me that she claimed were too short. That is not true because when I wax myself at home I've waxed shorter than the length she was speaking of. Then there were patches of missed hair all over me I looked horrific. Now that the hair is trying to grow back I have extreme pimples and rashes it's horrific. I was the bride and I felt like the grooms younger hairy pimple brother. Anyways. Don't recommend. Lady was really rough too she didn't warn me or be gentle she was so aggressive. Thanks have a good day

My man & I both have locs that needed to be maintenance and I wanted a style. I stumbled upon this…read moreshop by way of Yelp looking for a stylist that could do loc's. I have seen this shop many of times driving past it going to my cardio kickboxing class up the street, but never really stopped because I just thought it was a barber shop. Little did I know that a stylist named Monae worked here. As the other review from 2013 said she does a excellent job smd that she does. She now charges about $60 for a regular maintenance (wash & retwist) and the price for a style depends on the type. She didn't ask me how long our loc's were like some people in this area do, when actually all you are retwisting is the root of the hair and palm rolling the rest. This made my man even more comfortable to go to her since his loc's are longer than mine. For the gentleman reading this review my man was also able to get lined/shape up ($10) by one of the barbers out of the three that were working at the time and I was able to get my nape area cleaned up as well. This shop is open 7 days a week, which is a plus for my man & I. Needless to say I think we have found a permanent barber & loctician that is closer to our home. Yeppie.
