My old hair on left and my new wig on right!
    Christine T.

Dream team that truly cares. It is hard enough going through all the new and unexpected things that go with cancer treatment but when I walked into William Collier Design I felt like I had walked into a room of friends. There are all kinds of colors, cuts, types of hair etc if you are looking to try something new or they can color and cut a wig to match your previous hair. I got the wig pictured here and no one could tell it was a wig. If I could give them an 11 I would.

When getting my cancer diagnosis at 32 years old, one of my first thoughts was, "Holy crap, I am going to loose my hair." As a full time working mom of a toddler I was more worried about freaking my child out as I went bald and looking professional at the same time rather than the fact that I was sick. My oncologist suggested William Collier Design as an option for my cranial prosthesis, or "wig" rather. It was the only place I checked out, and I was so over the top impressed with every detail of my consult and the wig I chose. I met with Judi, who was very kind and very informative. I went into the consult super overwhelmed and unsure which route I wanted to go. I left so excited and ready to shave my head in anticipation for my hair loss. A week or so later my hair started falling out so I made my appointment to go in and have my wig fitted. I love they have Saturday hours. I met with Tiffany (I believe) who taught me how to put my wig on and style it. She was very sweet making sure I felt comfortable with it and made the whole shaving my head process fun. I can not recommend WCD more. Such friendly staff who is more than willing to make you feel more comfortable in a very uncomfortable situation.

This is my new replacement hair, I can pull off professional when necessary! :)

I was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer and William Collier Design was recommended to me by our family beautician as an exceptional hair replacement business in the Seattle area. Judi was professional and patient in helping me try various wigs on my petite to average head. I have always had fine hair that I styled the heck out of to seem like I had more volume. I wanted to be prepared for the eventual loss of my hair and was able to have a consultation prior to hair loss. The wig that I chose turned out to be very close to my original color and after sending pictures to my girlfriends none of them recognized the fact that I was wearing a "new" hairstyle. I highly recommend the kind, compassionate and private services that this business offers. You won't need to go anywhere else if you choose William Collier Design. Thank you so much!!!

I got mixed up and thought it was a hair-cutting place (which they do also) and requested a consultation with Judi.

She was running about a half hour late, which is typical for doctors I guess. There wasn't any type of physical exam conducted, other than an examining of my right calf. I was able to get into my appt at an earlier date than expected due to a cancellation. I wasn't able to get my online registration done until about 12 hours prior to the appointment. I submitted a lot of documentation including a health summary from both myself and a health coach I have been working with, in addition to copies of extensive testing that I recently had done. I sent Dr Corbeille an email asking her to please be sure to review all of the documentation prior to my appt so that we could spend the majority of time discussing solutions as opposed to reviewing my health history. At the start of my appt, I asked Dr Corbeille if she had reviewed the documentation I submitted, and she said, "I started to but then I got distracted". I also asked her if she had read my email and she looked puzzled and said, "no". So the entire appointment was wasted discussing my health history, which I had already submitted online. She recommended a bottle of ozone pills, which I purchased for $50. I took one and it upset my stomach quite a bit, so I am going to have to throw them away. I had an ozone treatment in my ears. I haven't noticed any bad or good effects as of yet. I am not going to be able to return to this office as the entire office smelled very strongly of some type of fragrance. I detected it immediately as soon as I walked in. It permeated my hair and clothing and lingered long after the appt. I'm immunocompromised and an asthmatic, so fragrance is a huge issue for me. I've been to naturopathic doctors before and have never experienced that type of problem. The receptionist said she couldn't smell anything and gave me a puzzled look when I mentioned the heavy fragrance throughout the office. In total I was charged $400 for everything and I feel like the vast majority of that money was wasted. Overall I'm disappointed with how my appt went yesterday.

When other doctors were not able to pinpoint my awful headaches and fatigue, they suggested I take prescription meds that actually exasperated my symptoms and caused other health issues for me. Once I saw Dr Timmer, she was able to determine my health issues: food sensitivities and then some. Once I cut the bad foods out, the headaches and fatigue subsided. I will also attest to Dr. Timmer's communication. I was extremely sick in the Spring time, potentially with Covid. I was in and out of the doctors (ER and urgent care). I was bed-ridden for two weeks. I contacted Dr. Timmer every time I had a concern, and she followed up with my concerns and road to recovery via emails within a couple of hours or so. After recovering, I started to have other health issues and Dr Timmer was able to determine I had a heart murmur after being so deathly ill. This baffles me, only because when I was in and out of the ER and Urgent Care, no one told me they heard a heart murmur when they listened to my heart. I DO not trust anyone for medical care except this woman. She is warm, welcoming, approachable and wise. She is a prodigy of health care, not symptom care. And I can't thank her enough for giving me the tools to create a healthier lifestyle for me.

They don't have a receptionist so I left a voicemail with my contact information. Their recording gives you details on how to email and text them for an appointment in addition to leaving a message. Fast forward to Tuesday and I still have yet to have someone call me back. Again I leave another voicemail. Robin did call me back, but unfortunately I was unable to pick up the phone. She left a voicemail explaining that she needed more information and to feel free to call or send a text message with all of the details and reiterated her number twice. I texted her back at 3 PM with all of my contact information and that I needed haircut and color. I even excitedly added a bit about how wonderful the yelps are and how self-conscious I am at normal salons and I felt super excited to try a place that seemed really inviting and friendly for people who experience hair loss. I did not receive a call back or text that Tuesday nor did I receive a call or text Wednesday or today Thursday. I even texted Wednesday with a message that I was following up and again... nothing. I'm sure they might be amazing if you luck out and get someone to call you or care at all about scheduling an appointment.

Minela paid close attention and has a very effective teaching style, she clearly cares about her reputation and it's obvious how she earned it. For Anne being brand new she did an absolutely amazing job and I'm thrilled to see how far she makes it in the industry. She paid close attention to detail, craved feedback and you could tell she genuinely cared about the work she was doing as well as customer satisfaction. Overall I'm VERY happy with the service my husband and I have received at Seattle SMP- just make the consultation, you'll be sucked in and happy you took the plunge. Thanks to this team of ladies I'm entering the summer with a high pony-tail and WAY less obvious hair thinning. Cannot thank you both, enough, for the confidence we've both gained.

You will not regret it. My hair has been thinning for awhile. I've tried everything to fix the way it looks. I used Rogaine for a long time until it started burning my scalp. I've tried hair pieces. I've tried using tinted dry shampoo. I've tried microfibers you sprinkle in your hair. Nothing was really the answer, because even if I could get it looking mostly ok, I'd always have to take a shower and wash it out and then live with myself at home looking bald. So, knowing it was going to be expensive I decided to at least reach out and see what could be done. Google turned up MM Seattle with the five star rating and how could I go anyplace else? I'm so glad I found Minela! Here are some things to know: She's super cool but totally chill and easy to talk to. Do not be intimidated by how cool she looks! Her studio is clean and bright and welcoming. It's not a spa like some places and it's not a tattoo parlor, either. She is passionate about covid protocols. The large windows are open and there is an a/c vent blowing right in your face, which means she's not breathing directly on you. I was afraid it would be challenging to get there from Renton, or to find it, but it was neither. Just thinking about going on the West Seattle Bridge and navigating around that area gives me hives but it turned out to be really easy to get to. There isn't a lot of parking but once you get used to the layout, I never had trouble finding parking in the area. And, of course, there is the result! My hair has never been thick but in the last few years, it's been THIN. You can't see the dots at all, even though the overall effect is a full head of hair. I can put my hair in a ponytail or wear it down with a part. I can make a part anywhere, which is extra cool. So yes, it was expensive, but it was for me, and my only regret is not doing it earlier. If you have thinning hair but you're not completely bald, I wanted to make sure you have a picture for reference because when I was looking for examples, I only found one picture of long hair. You're welcome!!
