And now, in the middle of a heat wave, our air conditioner died, and they are bending over backwards to make sure we get a new one ASAP, even if it means them installing the thing in the middle of the summer. Our rep, Scott Fischer, even said he'd loan us a portable air conditioner so we don't melt before they can get the new air conditioner installed. Everyone we've ever dealt with from Dowd have been helpful, knowledgable and kind.

$150 waste of money for diagnostic. When we called this morning to make an appointment we…read morespecifically asked if they work on the oil heaters in levittown knowing that its a niche thing. The woman on the phone assured us that they do. The first thing the hvac gentlemen said is "we don't really work on these oil heaters". When i said to him that we specifically asked the woman about it he told us "she's just dispatch". We were told that the soot needed to be cleaned(over $2700), they may need to remove the wall to do it which would cost more, and they don't replace the wall if they take it down. Then after all of that, they would be able to diagnose what is actually wrong with the heater, if its something more than a cleaning. If you live in Levittown, don't walk...run! You might as well throw your $150 in a hole and call someone else. Benjamin Franklin came out and hour later and fixed it for $417.

I called a few other companies but they were available later in the or the next day. So I agreed for Adam's to come by knowing of their $120 feet.I had been doing some construction next to the emergency cut off switch & not realized I must had hit the switch. Adam's company saw the switch off when they came in and asked if I turned off the switch. They turned on the switch & everything was working again. They told me a lot of people turn it off not knowing. I was thankful that it wasn't any major. I wasn't happy that they charged me an additional $60 for labor. $180 for being at my house for less than 5 min. Then had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to clean my furnace for $412. I will NEVER use this company again. Straight greed!

We have been using Eugene Adams for our home since about 2018 because our home warranty required us…read moreto. Now that we haven't renewed that warranty, we will be moving on to another company. Here's why: From the replacement of our heat pump in 2017 or 2018 (I can't remember), we have never had a job done that didn't require a follow up because of a mistake or an oversight in the service. Most recently, our heat pump wasn't switching back and forth from heat to cooling with the changing season. We called to get service. I was at work when the technician arrived, but he charged my wife over $100 to replace the air filter claiming that was the problem when we had mentioned in the initial call there was a problem with the compressor. It wasn't the air filter. The problem continued. On a return visit, I recreated the problem for the technician (incredibly nice guy, for what it's worth) and he came to the conclusion that a piece in the compressor needed some lubricant. The store to pick up that lubricant was closed, so he would pick some up and return another day. We never heard another word. So why three stars? My heart says this is a 2 star review. The guys do know what they are talking about, and, judging by other reviews, we seem to be an anomaly. It is why we continued to give them chance after chance for the past 5 years. I am tacking on that bonus star because the technicians that come out are incredibly nice and always answer my questions when I have them and I like that quality. Unfortunately life is getting just a little too busy to keep following up every time they come out and the job isn't complete, so we're going to look for someone who will get it right on the first try.

They told her the required…read moreparts were "rare" and recommended replacing the entire system for $8,000+, citing the age of the unit. When she declined, they suddenly "found" the part and quoted $1,800, then took a deposit. A quick search showed the OEM part is widely available for around $150, and the job typically takes 1-2 hours. Charging $1,800 for that kind of work is hard to justify. To their credit, when I called and requested a refund of the deposit, they returned it without issue (hence the 2 stars). That said, the initial sales approach was misleading and predatory. For context, another company has since quoted $460 for the same repair.
