They fixed our problem super quick by jumping the condenser but told us that that it was a temporary fix and they didn't know how long it would last. I asked for a quote for a completely new condenser unit. After some research their price seemed very fair. They responded quickly and were out installing by Monday or Tuesday. Installation, including moving the condenser further away from the house's gas line took less than a day. They even came back later to change out the thermostat to a more modern one. We were trying to get a smart thermostat but we didn't have the C wire which the thermostat needs for constant power. They tried more than one solution and were there for hours. Unfortunately they couldn't make it work. But I was happy with the effort and it showed they cared about the service they were providing.

Adam's company saw the switch off when they came in and asked if I turned off the switch. They turned on the switch & everything was working again. They told me a lot of people turn it off not knowing. I was thankful that it wasn't any major. I wasn't happy that they charged me an additional $60 for labor. $180 for being at my house for less than 5 min. Then had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to clean my furnace for $412. I will NEVER use this company again. Straight greed!

Here's why: From the replacement of our heat pump in 2017 or 2018 (I can't remember), we have never had a job done that didn't require a follow up because of a mistake or an oversight in the service. Most recently, our heat pump wasn't switching back and forth from heat to cooling with the changing season. We called to get service. I was at work when the technician arrived, but he charged my wife over $100 to replace the air filter claiming that was the problem when we had mentioned in the initial call there was a problem with the compressor. It wasn't the air filter. The problem continued. On a return visit, I recreated the problem for the technician (incredibly nice guy, for what it's worth) and he came to the conclusion that a piece in the compressor needed some lubricant. The store to pick up that lubricant was closed, so he would pick some up and return another day. We never heard another word. So why three stars? My heart says this is a 2 star review. The guys do know what they are talking about, and, judging by other reviews, we seem to be an anomaly. It is why we continued to give them chance after chance for the past 5 years. I am tacking on that bonus star because the technicians that come out are incredibly nice and always answer my questions when I have them and I like that quality. Unfortunately life is getting just a little too busy to keep following up every time they come out and the job isn't complete, so we're going to look for someone who will get it right on the first try.

There was some estimate issues leading me to think the installation of a toilet would be $1,000 for labor alone. However, the owner was quick to rectify and look into the issue personally once he became aware, and was very open to feedback on how to make the estimates more clear. I would still like to see them itemize the cost of materials in the future, but it seems to be something at least on his radar. I would give this company a chance if you're having issues. They were on time, checked out the AC, added coolant and then took a quick peek at the furnace. They said both look good for the age (17 years) and should be good for a while. I had questions about rebates for heat pumps and he had answers about rebates, rough costs and advantages of the new heat pumps. He reiterated that we didn't need to change out our current equipment but if we feel it's important for environmental reasons there are good options. We'll definitely be using them going forward, and have a fall furnace checkup scheduled.

On the first cold day this winter he claims the heater is all rusted out in the exchanger and has to be replaced, along with the entire system because a new heater can't work with an old air conditioner. Our neighbor suggested we call their guy. He's been in business for 30 years. Needless to say, the heater was not rusted he showed me the unit was very dirty, the fan motor and wheel were clogged with dirt and there were two dead birds in the chimney. The outside air conditioner was only 10 years old. I'm convinced SK had never done anything other than collect their fee and try to sell stuff we didn't want or need.
