Everything with Chehalem was local, personable, and straightforward from beginning to end, and we had zero issues with the rental itself, which came with very reasonable rules and maintenance expectations. Their rental contract is comprehensive and safe, their communication is stellar, and their attitude is always amenable. They gave us an actually nice goodie bag upon signing our lease, and we got a little Christmas gift, too. This kind of attention to detail carried across their work and made all the difference in our experience. Since they do speedy property maintenance check-ins on a bi-annual basis, I imagine it's also a dream to have them as a property manager from the rental owner side of things, too. The rules are HOA but nobody's paying HOA fees or voting on shit. they send letters to you in the mail when their is an office on site with a manager that doesn't d anything for the community except monitor everything they don't like and mails letters out. waste of money since we have to pay for all repairs and maintenance but can't do anything without approval. my wife lives in her own home here and has been threatened by management if she doesn't get things in order the way ma sees fit they will expire her contract and make her leave the park . when there are other places that have been occupied longer and in worse shape, but management targets new owners and they don't care about anything else but themselves. The lot fees are astronomical in price and we are paying more than the red of the community because we are new tenants but nobody else had to start paying more until march. I wish I would have bought somewhere else knowing that management was like this . A bunch of better than cowards who hide behind letters in the mail and lawyers phone numbers. Don't buy here until there's a management change and lot fees are less expensive. This isn't California and we are buying the homes but they dictate what you can do to the outside of your home. Then they should pay a Quarter of my mortgage payment since they have this kind of control over home ownership, because they own the lot it sits on. They don't need management on site who just sits inside and does nothing because they don't need to be here. They don't even have the right records for fixing your home, like paint codes to match. Or your hose being outside hanging nicely, is not acceptable . This company should be banned for what they get away with and their lack of integrity and ethics.
