I tell everyone who will listen about Megan!…read more My husband and I bought our first home with Megan's help. She is well informed about Portland and how it is quickly changing. The process is fun and stressful at the same time and Megan was there for us. I truly believe that Megan's ability to work with the Sellers agent gave us the edge when putting in our offer on the house. She is quick to respond to emails, calls, text, etc. She is also super flexible in working with different schedules. Megan was always looking out for us! I wish I could give her 6 stars!

We met with Megan online and she seemed nice, capable, and took note of our needs. Then proceeded to send us houses that were in no way in the area we had requested. So we had to search on our own and compile a list of suitable potential homes. When we had time to visit Portland, she made herself available, but then talked us out of a house we had both agreed we liked and we could have offered a lower price for. Since she shook our confidence, we toured a second day. At an open house without Megan, the home was fine and the noises weren't an issue. That also could have been because the host realtor was hovering and chatting to cover up the issues. After we looked at the house, Megan didn't bother to provide any context about the neighborhood and the fact that the house is on a busy street. Having not lived in Portland before this was essential information she should have shared. Instead, she pushed us to offer over asking (again to make more money for herself and the sellers' realtor). She proceeded to recommend an inspector who was extremely incompetent or at worst in Megan's pocket to get the sale through. He mislabeled important facts about the house (2018 was the temperature and the AC was older than the house). Megan lied in her response to a review on a different site. She claims that she told us the street was busy, but there is no record of this anywhere and this was not done in person or over the phone. Instead, she told us that a stretch of Burnside was busy and this road is much much worse. So if you want to pay more than you should, get talked out of a house for reasons that can be easily fixed, and want the thrill of wondering if your realtor is in it for herself or actually there to be an objective third-party guide, pick Megan. Otherwise, you'd likely be better off representing yourself.

This is what happened when I called Kate Williams with Rose City Realty. The idea of moving to a condo had been on my mind for a while, I'd even looked enough on my own to have a few buildings in mind, but I never thought this transition could happen so spontaneously. Second lesson, never doubt using a friend as an agent for your life's most important transactions. I couldn't be more impressed with the results. Kate delivered a level of service that truly exceeded my expectations, making the entire process fast, smooth and efficient. Her knowledge of the area and negotiation skills drove the entire buying process with ease, allowing for quick closing. She even connected me with movers and helped handle details while I was out of the country, allowing me to return to my new condo. Her advice on staging and preparing my house for sale was invaluable and undoubtedly contributed to the quick sale. She had the contacts to help with all the improvements needed and staging to make the house ready for marketing.
