They have the luxury of being quick to get off the phone, rude, and having restrictive policy over the application process because it doesn't take any time to find another renter either way. They, as a business, should additionally employ at least three more full-time maintenance crew members. To my knowledge, there is only one full-time person. While it has been my experience with him that he does good work, there is no reason why any task should take five months to complete. Renting in Corvallis is already extremely difficult. In my experience, many Corvallis rental companies are proud slum-lords, happy to take the rent and give no services in return. At Home Properties, unfortunately, has shown me that they are in this group. The rusty water mentioned in other posts is a problem where I live as well. I realize older homes and buildings require large scale maintenance such as pipe replacement, electrical replacement, appliance replacement, mold prevention, window replacement and more. As a rental company they should be aware that this is what they signed up for. Rentals need to be taken care of, otherwise the units will no longer be suitable for renting out. It is my hope that At Home Properties should begin to care about the properties they own, and to make long-lasting improvements instead of quick and temporary fixes.
