Willamette Coffee House has the kindest, most hospitable staff! Sierra specifically is incredible. I used to work in West Linn and stop in occasionally, but I transferred to downtown Portland NINE MONTHS AGO. Today I walked into the coffee shop again and without skipping a beat, she greeted me by name. There were some new employees in training and before I could say it myself, Sierra told them "no cheese on the sandwich and use oatmilk in the matcha." I'm dairy free and I was shocked that even after being gone for nine months, this little detail was not forgotten. Aside from being one of the friendliest spots in town, it's also clean and cozy. I've been hesitant about writing this review as I'm friends with some people who work at nearby coffee shops and this is likely viewed as a competitor, but man! I'll have to give both shops some love. They deserve some serious credit for how friendly they are. read more

I love Willamette Coffee House! They are easily one of my favorite places to enjoy a cup of coffee. Willamette Coffee House has a wide variety of both regular and sugar free syrups, and I'm always amazed by the combinations they create. Each month, there will be 5 or so specialty drinks based on a holiday in the month or the season. A raspberry sweet cream cold brew with pink sprinkles for Valentine's Day, a s'mores mocha for a summer campfire theme, etc. I have loved every single one of their creations! Willamette also serves sandwiches, bagels, cinnamon rolls, and scones if you are looking for a tasty treat. There are tables inside and outside on the sidewalk. Being a random trivia buff, I also like that they have a trivia question written on the wall. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, and I appreciate the kindness they always show my nieces. Ok, so have been coming here for years. Staff: 5 stars Location: Too loud, too bright and cold. Needs some paint to lighten up the glare. Coffee: Longbottoms is not good coffee. Much of the same comments here center on the coffee beans. Not good but i would give it 2 stars. Really would be nice to have another option. Absolutely the funnest place in town to get your coffee. They are going for a homey lodge-style decor with lots of pine and a small seating area around a faux fireplace. There is a wall of postcards that regulars send back from their travels and a question of the day on the board. The baristas are usually quick and friendly and aside from the normal coffee options they usually have a few seasonal drink suggestions. There is a small selection of biscotti, bagels and cookies as well as fruit smoothies. This is my favorite coffee shop in the area as they are reasonably priced, provide excellent service, and have delicious food and drinks. This is a pet-friendly shop that not only serves your traditional coffee/tea and breakfast foods/sweets but alcohol as well! The baristas welcome you into the shop right when you step foot into the door and they make your order fast and precise. I always get the medium Mayan Mocha when I'm here and it's always made to perfection. I've seen individuals and groups come here to study and even hold meetings. This is a well-rounded and great place to be. In summation, I would recommend Willamette Coffee House if you're in the area. The staff is always welcoming and the food and drinks are always on point.
