RUN. If I could…read moredescribe this place in one word, it would be predatory. I came here using my Delta PPO insurance expecting professional and honest service. Instead, from the moment I walked in, the front office staff had poor attitudes and made the experience uncomfortable. Almost immediately, they began pushing a 3-D imaging service and asked me to sign a consent form. Be cautious you do not have to agree to additional imaging if you are not comfortable. I was told I had multiple cavities. That alone shocked me.. After spending nearly four hours there, they claimed I needed a $500 deep cleaning and an additional $2,000 worth of dental work. What made things worse, I brought my daughter with me. Her teeth are in great condition, yet they attempted to charge for a routine cleaning even with my PPO. She only had X-rays and the 3-D imaging. I had to specifically request a routine cleaning for her, for a routine visit. They were taking so long. We didn't even get it. Some of the staff was outside drinking a coffee while we were waiting. Feeling uneasy, I sought a second opinion with another dentist using the same Delta PPO insurance. The second office found ZEROcavities, and my co-pay was only $100 for deep cleaning . They confirmed I did not need the extensive work that was recommended. That was extremely concerning. Even after spending hours there, nothing was actually done besides imaging, and I left feeling misled and pressured. They definitely overbuild. I agree with all the reviews that state that. They ended up charging me $60 for this visit and literally only did imaging. I do not recommend booking an appointment here. Please consider getting a second opinion before agreeing to any major treatment plans. Also be prepared to wait, and poor customer service. Unacceptable.

I followed the prompt it gave me when I called, and it went exactly how it said it would. They got me in the same week as a new patient, handled my cleaning, and fixed my permanent retainer all in one visit. It was an incredibly warm experience. Customer service was excellent. The team was efficient, took care of everything I needed, and made the whole process smooth from start to finish. Extra star for having chapstick on hand. My lips usually dry out fast during appointments, so that small detail was the icing on the cake. I walked out with clean teeth, my retainer fixed, and hydrated lips. Highly recommend this office if you want an independent dentist that really cares about their patients.

From the moment you walk into Smile the Spa, you are greeted by warm friendly folks and a serene atmosphere. They always remember my name and welcome me like I am an old friend. For my first visit, I had a dental cleaning, and I knew immediately that this was a great place. It was such a thorough cleaning and the technology Dr. Terra uses is first rate. I was terrified of the dentist, and I had A LOT of work to do. Many crowns, fillings, fixing some really crazy teeth, and oral surgery. All this before I can do the "fun stuff" (Invisalign and whitening). Whereas other dentists have made my road so long I have eventually given up, Dr. Terra gently and efficiently led me through a healing process. Within months, I now have new teeth! Yes!! And I was scared, but Dr. Terra referred me to an amazing surgeon; I was able to conquer my fear because I knew that if Dr. Terra trusted them, I could too. Thanks to all this work, I will soon start the fun stuff! And yes, my new teeth (Crowns) are GORGEOUS. Dr. Terra is an artist. He makes the crowns himself and they are incredible (and done so so quickly - no more waiting around with a temp crown for months!). I cannot tell you the difference Smile the Spa has made in my smile, my confidence, and my overall health. I am also on a fitness and health journey and Dr. Terra is always interested, remembers my goals and interests, and asks how I am doing. He supports a healthy lifestyle and is super wonderful to be around. Overall, I am so grateful to Dr. Terra and the team at Smile the Spa. Truly a life changing experience.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mendoza's for a couple of years now. Let me fill you in on my dental…read morehistory. I had not been to a dentist since probably kindergarten or 1st grade. My single parent household did not have much money as I was growing up, so we would only go to the doctor for emergencies. And once I became a working adult, I never had health insurance at any of my jobs. When I finally obtained a job with benefits, I still put off visiting the dentist because I was afraid of the out of pocket costs. I had heard horror stories of out of pocket payments, even with the help of insurance. I knew I couldn't put it off any longer because in 2018 I developed a sizable hole on the top of one of my back molars. I did a lot of research on dentists before I called Dr. Mendoza's office to schedule an appointment. I explained that I hadn't been to a dentist in nearly 30 years. They were very reassuring, and I had an appointment lined up in no time. It was my first time getting dental x-rays, which showed how much damage my tooth was suffering. I would need a root canal, which they would be able to perform right away. Dr. Mendoza was so kind and gentle during the process, and always made sure I was ok and comfortable throughout. He made me laugh, and dispelled any fears I had. He took the time to ask me questions about myself, and get to know me as a person. I was surprised at how painless the procedure was!!! Now that I have had a root canal, I can say I would rather have a root canal than deal with a lot of other things in life LOL! Before the procedure started, April at the front desk brought me the invoice showing how much I would have to pay out of pocket, apart from my insurance coverage. I literally started crying, I was so grateful, because the price was so much less than I had feared! Dental work is not cheap, but it was way more affordable than I had ever imagined! I returned to the office a couple weeks later when my crown was ready, and had it installed. I like to refer to it as my bionic tooth. I have been back to the office regularly for my biannual cleanings. It is always a breath of fresh air to see April, the dental hygienist Teresa, and Dr. Mendoza. They truly treat you like family, and are some of the kindest people I have ever met. I wish all doctors and staff, and people in general, were as wonderful as they are! At the time of my writing this, I recently lost my job. They moved up my next biannual cleaning to see if my insurance would cover it before it ran out. It did not, but again, the out of pocket cost was incredibly affordable. I left the office that day feeling deeply cared for, as I do whenever I leave Dr. Mendoza's office. So even though I don't know when I will have insurance again, I feel good knowing I can still go in for whatever dental care I need. And did I mention they have a zen garden?!? The energy in the office is so calming and serene. The decor is gorgeous, and many of the items you see there have been contributed by Dr. Mendoza's patients. It is my favorite Dr's office by far. If you are scared of the dentist, scared about the cost of dental work, or are just looking for a new dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Mendoza and his incredible team! I truly could not have asked for a better doctor, and am so grateful to have found him! They are THE BEST!
