He was very cheerful and helpful, and kind. At one point, my son's hat flew off halfway down the hill and he immediately yelled, "I'll get it!" and went running down the hill. However, there is some free ways to see if your kid is going to be able to handle skiing before investing in lessons or ski school. It is a great place to "test the waters" and do some other things while you're at it. The tubing was a lot of fun, even on a warm slushy day. The setup for parents is really well thought thru, and I highly recommend visiting if you're looking for a "first time" out setup for your toddler or small child. If you want to have them try skiing or boarding, you'll want to rent the gear ahead of time as the nearest rental shop is a long walk for a parent trying to keep the first time experience as stress free as possible. If you are late, you will not find parking at all even if you paid for the pass. There are a lot of people who just double-park and create a parking mess and may block you in. It's absolutely crazy on the weekends here. There's 2 bathrooms and they are horribly nasty and disgusting. If you have kids, just have them wear diapers, lol. There's a limited area of hills to sled down so you'll be sharing it with other families. Just be courteous to others and a bunch of kids.

For anyone outside of that range, rentals are $59 flat, whether you stay two hours or all day. Go all day to maximize your rentals! That said, the kids play area was pretty underwhelming for my kids (ages 10-12). The slopes were short, not all lanes were open, and there was only one black magic carpet running. That meant tubers, snowboarders, and skiers were all sharing it, which slowed things down quite a bit. Getting around wasn't the easiest either. There's only one entrance and exit and into the resort, so you're walking everything in while the kids carry their gear. Not terrible, but definitely inconvenient. We were told there was a tram running every 5 minutes, but it wasn't operating that day. My guess is they scale back operations on discounted days (fewer lanes open, no tram, only one black magic carpet). Parking was easy for the only entrance, which I appreciated, but it would be so much better if there was direct access to the kids area from the lot. Service was subpar. Staff weren't rude, but definitely not warm or helpful. No one showed the kids how to put on their boots or gear, and we weren't told helmets were required until my kids were already at the top of the slope, so I had to go all the way back to rentals. Also worth noting: kids 8 and under are restricted to the kids area only (no lifts or bigger slopes), which makes sense, but that wasn't clearly communicated upfront. Overall, the kids still had fun, and for $35, it's worth it. But I would only come back on a discounted day. I wouldn't pay full price for the experience as it currently is.

It's the perfect medium-sized mountain: big enough to explore all day, but dialed enough to avoid the sprawl and commuting lift-to-lift. The terrain mix is legit too, from mellow groomers to steep lines and playful powder zones. A place that still feels like skiing should. If anything, I'd love to see how they continue building on the upgrades.
