French Lick Springs Hotel somehow manages to feel both grand and incredibly relaxing. Everywhere you turn there's another detail worth appreciating--from the breathtaking domed atrium and historic architecture to the beautifully maintained grounds that practically beg you to take a leisurely stroll. The wraparound porch quickly became one of our favorite places. We spent a ridiculous amount of time rocking in the chairs, enjoying the gorgeous weather and taking in the peaceful views. It felt like stepping back to a time when people weren't in such a hurry. One thing I didn't expect was how convenient it was to explore the area. The complimentary shuttle was fantastic. We rode over to the casino resort, spent hours walking the grounds and exploring the restaurants, and on the way back the driver even dropped a few guests off at CVS and simply told them to call when they were ready for pickup. It's little touches like that that make you feel genuinely taken care of. Our room service breakfast was another highlight. Everything arrived hot and beautifully presented, from the biscuits and gravy to the fresh fruit oatmeal and perfectly cooked breakfast. Starting the morning with breakfast by the window overlooking those incredible grounds was hard to beat. The hotel itself has so many little spaces to discover. We wandered through the historic bathhouse, found a billiards room tucked away, admired the architecture, and never once felt rushed to get back to our room. Every hallway seemed to tell another piece of the hotel's history. And yes... The robes absolutely deserve their own paragraph. They're still some of the most comfortable hotel robes I've ever worn, and I'm standing by my original statement--you won't want to take them off. French Lick is one of those rare places where the destination and the hotel are equally memorable. We left already talking about coming back during another season just to experience it all again. As the planner of the group, there were a lot of things I was disappointed in but some great…read morethings. There was a group of 18 of us for a friends bachelor party. First the great things. Sultans run is one of the coolest courses I've ever seen and everyone at that course was super friendly and made for a great experience. Even when we were running couple minutes behind, the starter gave us great vibes. It's definitely worth the extra 30 minutes to go there rather than Donald Ross. Second, Phil at the links course was outstanding and was someone who wanted to make sure our experience was great. Curious to see what the course will look like once the renovations end. The disappointments start with the lackluster effort. Besides Phil, nobody seemed to want to make our experience stand out. Just the smallest thing would've been appreciated and I even asked if anything extra could do for the bachelor and I was met with nothing. The person who I talked to (will refrain from naming him) did great at helping me plan everything but failed to mention that when you get a group package that it's not really at a discount rate. I'm not kidding you there is literally no discount so it's basically false advertising saying you get a group rate. I was basically being told I needed to do a group package (now I know it was just to make things easier for him and didn't benefit us at all) One late add on even found his room cheaper online than for what we got. If I hadn't done my research, multiple people would have paid double their price because they were unable to play the most expensive course yet would've been charged as if they had played. This brings me to the second part where Pete dye course is very cool but the price you pay plus caddy fee and tip is outrageous. There is no reason anyone should be paying over $500 for a round for that course in middle of nowhere. Instead they are giving u a crappy whiskey and some glasses in a nice box to try and put a bow on being way overpriced. It's a great course but it is ridiculously over priced. Lastly the food within the resort is very ok and also overpriced. If you go across the street you get way better food at the steakhouse and the sports bar and a better environment. Nothing special about the Casino either. It's pretty small and has a small bar too

Hampton Inn in Jasper is a nice hotel and an excellent choice, but a little bit less comfortable…read morethan the similarly priced Fairfield competing against it in Jasper. The rooms are the best maintained I've in town across several work trips, the front desk, attendees are polite, helpful, and courteous, and it's located right in the middle of everything. It offers a large waiting pool, hot breakfast, and clean eggs, biscuits, sausage, waffles, and all the rest, and fresh, hot coffee, and cookies at the front are a nice touch. The downsides of noticed are that the sheets and beds, well comfortable pillow tops, seem to likely be synthetic and have me feeling confusingly, sweaty even with the air conditioner turned on, and the fitness room is long overdue for some very basic maintenance: the cable machine only has one side that works because the adjustment is broken on the other, and the weight bench adjustment knob has fallen off, keeping it flat and making a lot of exercise exercises not possible. Nonetheless, the pool is quite nice and large, and two treadmills, and elliptical, and a peloton spin bike are available.

Hotel The Hampton…read moreInn in Jasper has been around for a long time. It is a solid 3-star hotel within the Hilton family of hotels. The folks working here are exceptionally nice and helpful. The hotel overall is somewhat dated and is in need of a facelift. The room was the standard Hampton Inn room: bed / bath, TV and a refrigerator and a desk area to work at, if needed. Room was in good shape. Bed was comfy enough and the heat worked. Hot water took a little bit of time to get going and on the last day, the water suddenly lost pressure and dribbled out of the shower - thankfully I was just finished or I would have not been a happy camper. Bath sink was draining extremely slow so I mentioned it to the front desk and by the time I returned to the room that afternoon the problem was completely solved. Very good response on that. They have a free breakfast bar in the mornings and although it is nothing gourmet, it will get you up and going without adding to the cost of your trip. The front desk also have Grab-n-go breakfast bags in the event you are in a hurry to get to where you are going Overall a solid place to stay if in the area. Plenty of parking available.

It seems like it was updated within the last couple of years, with a nice, comfortable bed, and furnishings mostly in good condition. On my criticisms, I am *really* nitpicking here: The only downside, which I noted was mentioned in another review from a few months ago was that cleanliness could've been a tiny bit better. Nothing that gave me the "ick" but the shower definitely needed to have the caulking stripped out and replaced because there was some mildew under it, in spite of it appearing to have been cleaned pretty well otherwise with no water spots and everything wiped down aside from a few tiny spots in corners. The air conditioner was also a bit noisier than it should've been, with a slightly slow sink. To summarize: felt pretty darn, clean and well-maintained, but fell just short of being "five stars" at this price level. My room had a absolutely gorgeous view of the river, and the hotel itself is located within a few minutes of the town center, and a number of restaurants here and within 15 minutes at the next town over.

I would imagine since it's only a few miles away from Holiday world that during the summer months, the price of hotels are probably higher here, there's a number of restaurants around Wendy's McDonald's Subway and CVS up on the corner. After calling and booking a block for our group a month in advance we were left with minimal communication and several different answers when calling to book/confirm rooms. Nobody had a real answer for us. One employee said we had 11 rooms blocked, another said we had 16 blocked but when calling to book/confirm we were told the hotel was sold out. Only 8 of us were able to book through the block, leaving others to be charged higher rates. They blamed the issues on the manager walking out/quitting but ultimately it was an issue that the new owner should never have let happen in the first place. Their refusal to work with our contract was a slap in the face. One if guests were only able to book for 2 nights and had to bunk with another family, claiming they were full for the night, meanwhile TWO rooms were ajar all night directly across from my room. The breakfast was put up early most days, the pool went from a beautiful blue to swamp green overnight. Overall it was clean (minus the ants thay were all iver our table), the staff was nice and it would probably be fine if you were just staying as an individual rather than a group. If you are lodging as a group I would definitely take my business elsewhere. Forgot to add they charged the wrong card, I booked with one card asking them to charge another card upon arrival. They agreed to but still charged my card I asked them to change. I have been waiting for management to call me back since Monday. Its now the following Sunday and still nothing.

West Baden has now become a regular family destination. My family -- plus my mom, stepdad, siblings…read moreand their families -- just finished our second trip here. And it's safe to say that West Baden is now a family tradition. My parents spent a few days there to celebrate their anniversary, and then the kids all came to stay the last night, during Easter weekend. And we made the most of it. We started with bowling and pizza at the new Ballard's at the Atrium (see my review on that). My older niece then watched all the kids in one of the hotel rooms, while the adults got a drink in the expansive atrium and enjoyed looking up at the picturesque dome ceiling. The next morning, which was Easter, we found a quiet sitting area on our floor to have an Easter egg hunt with all the kids. These are memories we will cherish. We popped over to French Lick for brunch, though the Easter brunch set up in the atrium definitely looked delicious too. The staff is always excellent. We were able to call and get all of our rooms next to each other, which helped. Thanks for another fabulous mini-vacation, West Baden!

More like covered event space. Wedding perfect. Room was clean. Beds are not very comfortable. Killed my back and my husband's. We had a two bedroom suite which was the perfect size for the four of us. It had two balconies overlooking the atrium which I will never, ever book again. Too loud! All night long too loud! Even from the sixth floor, even with earplugs. Only exterior view next time for a stay. I would return next year for all of the holiday events. My kids loved this trip because of all the new experiences they had. Lots of things to do in the area that get you outdoors. Lovely part of Indiana in the Autumn (when we visited).

NO INTERNET, NO CELL SIGNAL. also only a handful of tv stations, and the signal on that kept fading out making watching anything impossible. shower faucet was busted. it was a single handle moen, which i would have fixed myself just to be able to take an appropriately temp'd shower. no hardware close though. we managed with it, but it was not good. we mentioned this to the "maint person" upon our departure, and she stated she had mentioned it and it was decided they would not repair it. will we be back? jury still out. our room (discounted b/c it was a Sunday/Monday stay) was STILL $277 with tax for two nights....we saw many rooms in the same area starting at $69.00 a night...that had no more or less amenities than ours did. i would sacrifice the 4 minutes farther for half the money! **Rooms in the West Baden Springs Hotel, (hallmark of the Midwest) were only $250 starting price. to say they are only twice as good as these is a joke! do the research...look on the internet...read these...you STILL will have to go for yourself to find out. you can only see so much on here.

The lovely women who checked us in on the evening of 4/17/26, said - we have you on the second floor and there are a lot of young kids, so I'm going to move you to the third floor. So kind and thoughtful! The room was clean, per my sister the shower was great, and the breakfast was great. The woman who was managing the breakfast gave my sister a few ideas for stops along the way as we headed back home. Very much appreciated!
