    Double Queen Handicap Accessible Room
    Kristen M.

We stayed for seven nights at this location and were overall very pleased. The GM and ladies at the front desk were the highlight of our stay as they were always friendly and extremely helpful. The beds and pillows were comfortable and they offered a microwave and small refrigerator (which came in handy). Most nights were pretty quiet and we were able to get uninterrupted sleep. The breakfast was slightly varied each day and offered a good deal of options. There was always tea, coffee and lemon ice water available in the lobby. Slightly negative notes were that two nights our towels were not replaced and the indoor pool was in need of a good clean (green algae (?) growing on the sides and bottom). Despite those issues I'd recommend staying there to anyone. The employees are super friendly and the room was comfortable.

Gentlemen at front desk was very attentive to us as we walked in, he showed and told us everything we needed to know about our stay there. Room was very nice, even cooled down a bit when going in. Everything was clean and we had excellent help when needed. We like sleeping with a small fan and most hotels have them, this location did not. We took the children for a swim later and the pool was nice. Outdoor pool would have been nicer but the kids had no complaints. Towels were stocked for pool guests and the area was cleaned up from previous guests. My husband thought this was the most comfortable bed he had slept in (he has stayed in several hotels).

The area by the hotel! Lots of rolling fields and hills :)

My family and I recently visited this area to go to Holiday World, and we decided to stay the night here. We loved it! Front desk lady was very courteous and friendly, she didn't mind us asking for extra pillows or towels at all! She made us feel welcome, and so did the rest of the staff. Breakfast was amazing and free!! Lots and lots of options, just make sure you get to breakfast early to get first pick! They had 3 waffle makers as well, we loved that :) My brother and I visited the indoor pool, very clean and we enjoyed the small workout room as well. This hotel's location is not only perfect because of its scenic views (see pictures!) but it is conveniently located close to multiple restaurants, so we didn't have to go far for dinner! (Taco Bell, Subway, Chinese food, Wendy's, McDonald's, etc.) Room was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable, it felt like a 5 star hotel! Only thing I would say is if you get a room close to the elevator (such as the handicap-accessible one we had) you may hear the elevator working at night! But it's not too disturbing. Also what i would make sure you keep note of is, since this 3-story hotel is north of the interstate, it is on the EASTERN time zone (EST) which is one hour ahead of Holiday World. But there are signs inside the hotel everywhere to remind you of that! A+, we will be back next year!

It is so amazing, the beds r so soft and the pool is nice. The fitness area is great and the arcade is pretty cool. The room is very big, it has a lot of space. The breakfast is awesome and u can get lemonade anytime all day. Definitely recommend

So you Yelpers know, this Quality Inn and Suites is on Eastern time. Holiday World is on Central time. First issue was upon arrival. They missed the part about having a dog and put us on the third floor. It took several minutes to switch us to the first floor where all the dogs were supposed to be. I will say that staff did ask if having a handicapped room was ok before taking it. It was the only room available on the first floor that had an attached second room that we wanted for our adult children available. We were in Rooms 112 and 110. Although right by the Lobby, we only heard commotion once and it was relatively quiet in the pretty full hotel. Our room appeared clean (my wife said it could've been a little better). The attached room for our adult kids was the same. Our bathroom was set up for those with disabilities as it did not have a bathtub but a handicapped shower stall with a fold down bench and no real lip to have to step over. The shower curtain was adequate to block the water runoff. The beds were not firm or too squishy. I slept comfortably. The rooms also had a table and chair, microwave, TV, and mini-fridge. There was also a digital alarm clock. The kid's room had a tub/shower combo which worked just fine. When our dog got sick, the staff did provide us with extra dishrags to clean it up and a garbage bag to toss them in. Thankfully, the dog got sick in the bathroom on tile and not on carpeting in the regular room itself. If all dogs were to be on the first floor, I'd hope that they clean the floors that much more often/deep-clean in case of accidents like this. I'd be weary of walking around barefoot on the carpets. Although we did not use the pool, it was a big square three to four feet deep. Picture below. The "free" breakfast consisted of cereal, pastries, juice, fruit, yogurt, mini-waffle station maker, and had hot food of eggs and sausage links. The eggs were very watery and looked quite unappetizing but I did try to get some dry eggs on my plate. Also had some sausage which was nothing special. This Quality Inn served our purpose for getting a good night's sleep in prep for the full day road trip the next morning. The hotel has a Wendy's and Taco Bell practically next door, a gas station across the street, and a brand new Dunkin was being built. We spent about $400 for the two rooms with taxes and fees and a $20 dog fee.

That said, my room was clean and comfortable. The AC worked really well and let me set it to pretty low so the room was nice and cool. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. They had an indoor pool which was a good thing. It was too small to really swim in but I enjoyed being in it for a while. They did have wifi which was adequate because it was nearly impossible to get a signal there for the Internet. That said, the room was dated and the candy machine right outside my room was half empty. I didn't need anything from it but, in fairness, a half empty machine made me wonder about the quality of what was inside of it. Breakfast was a joke. I was there for an event at a nearby monastery and at 8am the breakfast on day one was pretty much depleted and the coffee was miserable so I gave up and drove to the monastery for breakfast. Day two breakfast wa totally gone and I couldn't bear to try the coffee again. That said, there is a Dunkin right next door so I had good doughnuts and coffee. I chose this place because it was the cheapest one available and all I needed was a place to sleep and it accomplished the job. It could have been worse. If you go in with minimal expectations, this place will meet them.

Hotel The Hampton…read moreInn in Jasper has been around for a long time. It is a solid 3-star hotel within the Hilton family of hotels. The folks working here are exceptionally nice and helpful. The hotel overall is somewhat dated and is in need of a facelift. The room was the standard Hampton Inn room: bed / bath, TV and a refrigerator and a desk area to work at, if needed. Room was in good shape. Bed was comfy enough and the heat worked. Hot water took a little bit of time to get going and on the last day, the water suddenly lost pressure and dribbled out of the shower - thankfully I was just finished or I would have not been a happy camper. Bath sink was draining extremely slow so I mentioned it to the front desk and by the time I returned to the room that afternoon the problem was completely solved. Very good response on that. They have a free breakfast bar in the mornings and although it is nothing gourmet, it will get you up and going without adding to the cost of your trip. The front desk also have Grab-n-go breakfast bags in the event you are in a hurry to get to where you are going Overall a solid place to stay if in the area. Plenty of parking available.

There are only two chargers available at this site, and neither of them work. One is completely broken and missing the piece that actually plugs into your car. The other one just won't turn on. They should be removed from Google. If you're in this area and need a fast charger, you're going to have to go all the way to the Huck's gas station in Washington, Indiana. I was lucky enough to have enough charge to get over there. And I'm grateful that I bought a Tesla adapter for my Volvo EV.

It seems like it was updated within the last couple of years, with a nice, comfortable bed, and furnishings mostly in good condition. On my criticisms, I am *really* nitpicking here: The only downside, which I noted was mentioned in another review from a few months ago was that cleanliness could've been a tiny bit better. Nothing that gave me the "ick" but the shower definitely needed to have the caulking stripped out and replaced because there was some mildew under it, in spite of it appearing to have been cleaned pretty well otherwise with no water spots and everything wiped down aside from a few tiny spots in corners. The air conditioner was also a bit noisier than it should've been, with a slightly slow sink. To summarize: felt pretty darn, clean and well-maintained, but fell just short of being "five stars" at this price level. My room had a absolutely gorgeous view of the river, and the hotel itself is located within a few minutes of the town center, and a number of restaurants here and within 15 minutes at the next town over.

All the USB plugs that are in the wall under the tv didn't work, and none of the bedside lamps have USB ports. The alarm clock has 2, and thankfully one worked. It's my own fault, I just assume all these hotel have something to plug cords into now, which this one does, they just don't work. I have the Bonvoy app and have used it multiple times (travel a lot for work) and the hotel staff are always quick to get back when you use the chat feature, but I messaged the staff about this and no one responded all evening. Then, the bathroom. Our shower was gross. Whoever recaulked the shower did a very novice job and it's all nasty and discoloring already. Whoever tried cleaning it did a pitiful job. Then when I was getting ready for bed, washing my face, I could hear someone above me showering, and what literally sounded like pipes clanging overhead. Just seemed very, very weird. The area around the hotel is very pretty with lots of restaurants past the town square, and the common areas of the hotel seem very nice, like the communal area and the gym. Might be forced to stay here a third time if we come back to Holiday World but I won't be looking forward to it. Update: I wrote this on our first night- next morning I realized our gross shower described above also had no body wash in it, bottle was completely empty. Went down to breakfast to find everything empty- cooler with milk empty, no bread, no cereal, no spoons. All they had was the breakfast slop I pictured. Oh yah, and when I came down for that, that's when I realized our door didn't latch when we closed it. Which means anyone can come and go as they please. To get it to latch you have to put all of your body weight into the handle and pull the whole door UP. I mean, I become more and more flabbergasted by this place. My husband just came out and announced there were no hand towels in the bathroom by the breakfast room. The place is a clown show but it's not funny.

So when I saw there was a Baymont ten minutes from Holiday World, I booked it over the newer Holiday Inn Express in Jasper. Mind you, Holiday Inn was priced the same as Baymont. The experience was very disappointing. - Condition of the property overall was a bit dated. The location of the hotel is on a dead-end cul de sac surrounded by a couple abandoned buildings. I supposed the owners can't control that... it was just a run-down neighborhood. - I booked a King Deluxe room. Immediately upon entering the room, we were hit with the powerful smell of... I guess cheap cleaning supplies? We couldn't put our finger on it. So I went back to the desk and asked for another room. They offered me a comparable one that I went and checked out... same smell. So we cut our losses and stayed put. My partner thought the smell was like mold/wet basement. I couldn't put my finger on the scent... but it was not right. - The room... one of the three fixtures on the vanity was permanently broken. The duvet had had some orange/brown stains, I found two long pieces of women's hair that were not ours. There were condensation ring stains on the coffee table, the tub had these black stains by the drain, and the window opened, but there was no screen (we were on the third floor... extremely unsafe if there was a child). - Saturday evening we came back from Holiday World. Our keys worked for entry to the side door. However, neither key worked on our room. I go to the front desk... no one there... there's a sign to dial 0 for assistance. A man answers and tells me he'll be right there. I wait 4-5 minutes... call again... same man acts confused.... Shows up a minute later, carrying a plate of food and eating. - The continental breakfast was very poor. In comparison to other Baymont properties, this was a sad display... wet powdered eggs, grayish sausage links. Smushed hash browns. Mind you, the breakfast opens at 6:30. I arrived at 7:03 am Saturday morning, and all the hot food was gone... I only know the condition of the food b/c I went back Sunday morning to scope the spread. Unfortunately, we did not feel this meal was satisfactory or what we expected for what we paid. So we paid to eat at Denny's down the street. This Baymont property is nowhere near brand standards. It is not professionally maintained or cleaned. For the price, you can stay at much nicer properties 20 minutes away in Jasper. We'll be doing that next year... overall this was a very disappointing experience. For reference, I like to post when we have positive experiences at hotels/restaurants. But I think folks should really know what's going on at this property before they make the investment. And if you're trying to save a buck, there are much nicer places in the area at the same price point.
