The rooms are spacious and clean price was very reasonable, but in this location, I would expect that. I would imagine since it's only a few miles away from Holiday world that during the summer months, the price of hotels are probably higher here, there's a number of restaurants around Wendy's McDonald's Subway and CVS up on the corner. Very comfortable nice large TV refrigerator and microwave in the rooms as well.

After calling and booking a block for our group a month in advance we were left with minimal communication and several different answers when calling to book/confirm rooms. Nobody had a real answer for us. One employee said we had 11 rooms blocked, another said we had 16 blocked but when calling to book/confirm we were told the hotel was sold out. Only 8 of us were able to book through the block, leaving others to be charged higher rates. They blamed the issues on the manager walking out/quitting but ultimately it was an issue that the new owner should never have let happen in the first place. Their refusal to work with our contract was a slap in the face. One if guests were only able to book for 2 nights and had to bunk with another family, claiming they were full for the night, meanwhile TWO rooms were ajar all night directly across from my room. The breakfast was put up early most days, the pool went from a beautiful blue to swamp green overnight. Overall it was clean (minus the ants thay were all iver our table), the staff was nice and it would probably be fine if you were just staying as an individual rather than a group. If you are lodging as a group I would definitely take my business elsewhere. Forgot to add they charged the wrong card, I booked with one card asking them to charge another card upon arrival. They agreed to but still charged my card I asked them to change. I have been waiting for management to call me back since Monday. Its now the following Sunday and still nothing.

The rooms are the best maintained I've in town across several work trips, the front desk, attendees are polite, helpful, and courteous, and it's located right in the middle of everything. It offers a large waiting pool, hot breakfast, and clean eggs, biscuits, sausage, waffles, and all the rest, and fresh, hot coffee, and cookies at the front are a nice touch. The downsides of noticed are that the sheets and beds, well comfortable pillow tops, seem to likely be synthetic and have me feeling confusingly, sweaty even with the air conditioner turned on, and the fitness room is long overdue for some very basic maintenance: the cable machine only has one side that works because the adjustment is broken on the other, and the weight bench adjustment knob has fallen off, keeping it flat and making a lot of exercise exercises not possible. Nonetheless, the pool is quite nice and large, and two treadmills, and elliptical, and a peloton spin bike are available.

The hotel overall is somewhat dated and is in need of a facelift. The room was the standard Hampton Inn room: bed / bath, TV and a refrigerator and a desk area to work at, if needed. Room was in good shape. Bed was comfy enough and the heat worked. Hot water took a little bit of time to get going and on the last day, the water suddenly lost pressure and dribbled out of the shower - thankfully I was just finished or I would have not been a happy camper. Bath sink was draining extremely slow so I mentioned it to the front desk and by the time I returned to the room that afternoon the problem was completely solved. Very good response on that. They have a free breakfast bar in the mornings and although it is nothing gourmet, it will get you up and going without adding to the cost of your trip. The front desk also have Grab-n-go breakfast bags in the event you are in a hurry to get to where you are going Overall a solid place to stay if in the area. Plenty of parking available.

On my criticisms, I am *really* nitpicking here: The only downside, which I noted was mentioned in another review from a few months ago was that cleanliness could've been a tiny bit better. Nothing that gave me the "ick" but the shower definitely needed to have the caulking stripped out and replaced because there was some mildew under it, in spite of it appearing to have been cleaned pretty well otherwise with no water spots and everything wiped down aside from a few tiny spots in corners. The air conditioner was also a bit noisier than it should've been, with a slightly slow sink. To summarize: felt pretty darn, clean and well-maintained, but fell just short of being "five stars" at this price level. This message shows all…read morethe things that was considered a con (in my opinion) When me and my family walked into the hotel lobby, we were immediately hit with a smell that was not extremely unpleasant, but it was still considered bad. When we arrived at the front desk, there was nobody there. We then waited 30 seconds, and then an employee came to the front. For about 5 seconds, he just stared at us, and then proceeded to walk away. It was very rude in my opinion. We then realized that there was a phone on our left with a sign saying "dial 0 to get front desk help" so we called it. We immediately heard a loud ringtone sound, and it was coming from a phone not even 4 feet away from us behind the counter. We then got assistance. Once we got our keycard, we then went into the elevator. The second we stepped in, we realized there wasn't much room, and it was extremely hot. We didn't mind it that much. When we arrived on our floor and walked down the hall to our room, while we passed by the other rooms, you could hear conversations clearly. Once we got in, we were shocked by the setup when you first walk in, having the sink being right on your right completely separated from the other bathroom appliances. When I walked into the bathroom, I saw on the shower curtain it was pretty dusty and dirty. When we walked in and saw our beds, we realized the pillows were extremely small. One of the lights was also burned out. One of my family members found a couple black hairs still on the pillow from the previous people. The TV was not a flatscreen like the one at home, and the model was very old. When we turned it on by pressing a button on the side, we tried to then access regular streaming services like Netflix, and Disney+ but Netflix never worked. On the Disney+ app, we were able to get on 1 episode of bluey, but then it completely stopped working halfway through. We decided to go to bed with our tiny pillows, and the air conditioner was creaking and randomly blasting big puffs of air, which made a pretty loud sound for 10:45 PM. I slept in the bed on the far right when you walk in, and chose to sleep on the right side of that bed (closest to the window). I would not recommend sleeping in the same spot I did, because the curtains don't cover the whole window and you will get waken up by 7:30 AM, while your family still sleeps. I am writing this at 7:45 AM currently, telling you what had happened in only 10 hours of our trip.

You can enjoy the swimming pool, mini-golf, volleyball court, walking trails, and the best golf cart parades. The main bathhouse was nice, the camp store is very well-stocked, and the snack bar area is super convenient. You also have the option to buy tickets directly for their onsite waterpark, and our pups really enjoyed the dedicated dog park. The biggest perk is definitely the location. Being so close to Holiday World & Splashin' Safari is unbeatable. As far as value goes, the pricing is good if you manage to book during a Black Friday promo. Otherwise, the extra fees really start to stack up. The mandatory resort fee covers Wi-Fi, select activities, and facility access, but on top of that, you are hit with Indiana sales tax on the rent, plus they tax the golf cart rental rate too. Most frustrating of all is the absurd "site lock fee"--if you don't pay extra just to lock it in, your site number is subject to change prior to arrival. A few tips and areas for improvement: * The Shuttle Service & Safety: While the free shuttle to Holiday World is great, during peak times (like a Saturday in July) it is extremely slow. The limited buses get incredibly overcrowded. Small children should really sit on an adult's lap rather than taking up a full seat so more people can fit. More importantly, the buses need to be checked regularly for maintenance, especially low tires. We witnessed one overly crowded shuttle where the tire was almost completely flat--it was so bad that my family and many other guests all noticed and felt it was a major safety hazard. With as much money as this campground charges, they really need to invest in more buses or even open-air trams to handle the crowds safely. * Golf Carts: Make sure to book a golf cart in advance (while making your reservation if available). If you wait until your stay, you likely won't be able to get one--and you will want one because of how hilly it gets once you pass the check-in point. That said, the rental carts themselves could use better maintenance, and the strict rule of only 1 cart per site feels outdated; larger families really need two. * RV Spots & Noise: Some of the RV spots are a pretty tight fit and can be quite unlevel, so bring leveling blocks and patience. We have never had a problem with noise here, but I always make sure to choose a pull-through lot off the main roads to stay away from the heaviest traffic. Given how much the costs have gone up with all the extra fees, combined with the frustrating peak-season shuttle issues, the cons are starting to outweigh the pros for us. Because of this, we are honestly on the fence about continuing our annual trip here. It's a fun place, but management needs to address these logistics if they expect families to keep paying premium prices.
