My partner and I went to visit yesterday to try and find a third cat to add to the mix, yes you read that correctly, we are wanting a third. When we first entered happy endings, I first noted that it was very clean. They obviously take a lot of care in cleaning up after the cats. A couple of cats were roaming free around the place and we were immediately greeted by the staff. The staff was really knowledgeable about the cats they had and were more than willing to walk us around. All cats are given their own "cubby" so they have their own space, it's clear that made the cats feel good about their environment as I did not see them sitting in their litter boxes, which I've seen a lot in shelters where the cats feel overwhelmed. We didn't find our next addition but we did find a well maintained facility where hopefully others find their furry friend.

The cats are well taken care of and do get a chance to leave their cages and wander around the place, when volunteers are there. The kittens get to play and run around in the kitten room. Some cats come from bad backgrounds before coming to the shelter, so they might appear stand-offish or unfriendly, but they all deserve a loving family.

Yes Second Hand Purrs has high standards for adopters, and for good reason. The cats deserve the best. Recently we took in a family of cats. It was exceedingly cold and we wanted to protect them from the elements. We contacted Second Hand Purrs because we knew of their care, concern, and knowledge of what to do. My wife and I nurtured the kittens for several months until they were ready for more care. Second Hand Purrs was able to support us in getting the kittens the medical care they needed and provide them with excellent foster care as well. We went to a place that we knew would give these cats their best life. Second Hand Purrs is very caring, conscientious, and knowledgeable about what is best for the cats. These cats are wonderful creatures and deserve to have their best lives and Second Hand Purrs is there to provide that for them. We are exceedingly pleased with Second Hand Purrs.

We were not told he was ill. After we took him to the vet he was tested for additional parasites and had to go through a lengthy medication routine. It was very stressful for him and expensive for us. They were not upfront about his health challenges or their lack of testing. Do not assume the cats are healthy when you pick them up. I love what they do for these animals, however, someone looking for a cat would be better off getting one from the humane society where they are treated for any illnesses they might have. I'm not sure he had a chance of being healthy due to the fact that he was in a Milwaukee home with 11 other cats.

Oconomowoc Animal Hospital made this difficult time as special as could be. They were extremely warm, caring and kind. She went peacefully in our arms. I cannot say enough about how professionally and nicely we were treated from the front desk staff to assistants to vet. Dr. Schneider was awesome. They made this a good experience. We received this sweet memorial of our bunny's paw print and a signed card from the entire staff today. Bless them all. If you need a great veterinarian, you will not go wrong here.
