I purchased the Bifold bookcase queen bed and with a mattress. It's a really well designed product and I really love it. I did initially have an issue with it. On the website the product is rated as: "Bi-Fold Bookcase Wallbeds will hold up to 60 lbs. per bookcase section (240 lbs. total) evenly distributed." I had the company professionally install it as a paid service. I placed around 180 lb of stuff on it, evenly distributed, and it was bringing the door down enough to make the latch on the left door not catch. The reason turned out to be that the floor was uneven and smooth, slippery hardwood, so it was making the side of the bookcase shift and bring the door down farther when it was opened. I contacted the company about this, and while it took quite a while to get proper support (hence the 4 stars), the owners really stood behind the product and were able to send someone out to raise the latch and to also add some shims to prevent it from shifting against the floor. The piece looks and functions great now, supporting all the weight easily. It's a great solution to have a real bed with a real mattress when the room is being used as a guest room, while still being functional as a bookcase when the room is being used as an office. read more

We bought our wallbed in 2018 or 2019 and we are now moving. First of all, when we initially ordered it, I wanted my own material on the sofa that went in front of the wallbed. That was no problem. When the construction guys had a question about the installation, they were very helpful. Now that we are moving, they continue to be helpful when I requested information on removal and a new installation. I have told dozens of people about this company and will continue to do so. They couldn't be more professional and helpful and their product is outstanding. read more

I am happy with my purchase. I purchased a murphy bed and chose to assemble it on my own. After installation the bed frame creaked when rolling side to side, so I reached out to Wilding Wallbeds for help. After remote troubleshooting did not resolve the issue, an expert from Wilding Wallbeds traveled to my home to assist. It turns out that the bed was working fine, but there a few different problems on my end (unlevel floor, bolts not tightened enough, unlevel wall) that resulted in difficult problem. This was all resolved within a few hours and the bed is working perfectly now. The murphy bed itself is great; solid construction. It allows for a guest room to double as an exercise room. read more

This review is just for the initial consultation with their sales rep Monika Luttmann. Monika was very knowledgeable and kind. She told me about the different setups, how you can mix and match different styles and the dreaded wait time. As far as the wait time, I believe that with Los Angeles county passing a law which states that if you own a home on a 4,500 sq ft lot, you can build an ADU (auxiliary dwelling unit). Most of these ADU's are the size of studios. These wall beds are perfect for studios. Another possibility is that a lot more people are renting out living rooms or spending time with family. These wall Beds turn any living room into a bedroom. Im still browsing Murphy beds, but if I decide to buy from this company, I'll update the review. I found this place online. The salesperson JAN DEMPSEY was polite and informative at first, but when she failed to encourage us to buy the most expensive version of their product and mattress, her behavior changed. She started to answer our questions with a mocking tone and smile. We tried to ignore her and reminded ourselves that we only want her services. When their promised eight weeks turned to 10, without a single call from them to explain or apology, I called the store and asked about the status of our order. JAN spoke to us in the rudest possible way. She told us that she doesn't have time to follow up on my order, and all she can do is giving us a phone number. If we could go back, I would never purchase anything from this company and especially from that salesperson. They will lose a lot of clients due to their poor choice of people and services. We stopped in here to buy our second wallbed and were helped by the Sales Associate Sherry. Unfortunately this was what turned us away: She spent her time either not listening or being authoritative and condescending with a laugh or smile. When we mentioned we didn't want a sofa as part of our bed, she showed us color swatches for the sofa as if she didn't hear us. When I offered to help raise up a lowered wallbed, she snapped 'get away from that'. It got to the point she was even correcting our grammar - it was honestly a bit weird. Get better people to represent your company. I walked in the El Segundo store and the saleswoman had to wrangle her two dogs, before helping me. I then told her I was looking at the bookcase version of the bed and she tells me, "We close at 5p". Ummm, bish, I didn't ask you what time you closed. I then asked her about the mattress height and she tells me that only special mattresses, that they sell, can be used for those types of beds and that I could use my existing mattress only if the bed would be in the down position for 80% of the time. Blank stare. And lastly, the clincher that really pissed me off: I told her I live in a multi-unit building WITH AN ELEVATOR AND ZERO STAIRS, she then tells me that in addition to the normal delivery and set up fees, it would be an additional $80 fee, simply because it's a multi-unit building. I said that makes zero sense and she said those are the prices her boss set up. Oh yeah, and then she threw in the fact that it was going to take 16 weeks for it to be delivered because of COVID. Who is COVID and why on earth is it taking him so long to build one wall bed? Is there a mad dash and demand for wall beds that I'm not aware about? Seriously, if you don't want customers, just lock the f'n door and turn off the lights. read more

Expensive because it's worth it I've purchased 2 beds here, the quality is beyond what I expected and the installation was incredible to watch. 2 guys installed both beds and it was like watching a ballet. This is a tale of two experiences. The folks at the store in El Segundo could not have been more gracious, helpful and kind. The delivery folks, however, were difficult, short and disappointing. The wallbed itself is amazing. It's the perfect purchase for the small spaces we inhabit near the coast. The installation is expertly done and the mattress we purchased through Wilding is great. Unfortunately, the process wasn't as smooth as we would hope. We were told it would ship in two to three days, but it was over a week before they contacted us to deliver. The delivery guy, Brian, was willing to give us a full refund on our $4000 purchase rather than help problem solve the tightness of our hallway. In the end, we ended up moving one piece of furniture two feet to allow it to pass but not without listening to a diatribe about liability. I completely understand the need to protect themselves, but they re-loaded everything up and were willing to drive away rather than offer any help. In the end, we moved our furniture the two feet and they proceeded. And as I mentioned, the installation was very well done. The store and the salespeople deserve five stars, but I had to knock it down one notch because of the odd customer service. read more

We recently moved to and remodeled a house at the beach. Knowing we would be expecting lots of guests we searched for a murphy bed for our living room. We absolutely LOVE the Hamilton style Wilding Wallbeds murphy bed we purchased. It is excellent quality, solid construction, and extremely comfortable. We got the single bed with a closet and drawers attached. When open there is even a little bedside table that pulls out and a reading light and headboard shelf. It transforms that corner of our living room into a complete guest room when open, and is a pretty addition to our living room furniture when closed. We purchased the bed at the store in El Segundo and the service was excellent. The sales staff was informative and helpful. Delivery was on time and hassle free. I never thought of getting a Murphy bed until my husband suggested it and I'm so glad we got one for our house. I'm even more happy that we purchased it from Wilding Wallbeds. My mother in law was visiting us and we needed a bed for her. Wilding Wallbeds was able to deliver our bed on time at no extra charge. We were on the cusp of a timeframe where we would have to pay an expedite fee to get it before my mother In law arrived, but the salesman at the el Segundo store was great and he called the factory where they make the beds and was able to get our bed delivered on time at no extra charge. Those air mattresses are terribly uncomfortable and a pull out sofa isn't that much better than an air mattress and they take up so much room so we decided to look into Wallbeds. The great thing about the Wall bed is that it takes up almost no space at all in our guest room so that it can also be used as a play room for our 3 year old son when we don't have company. When we do have company we just pull the bed down and in seconds we are ready for over night guests. The quality of our custom wall bed is excellent. I'm very happy with the look and quality of our Murphy bed. I would definitely recommend Wilding Wallbeds to friends and family. read more
