Your lavish experience begins at checkout with a hot, scented towel. Next, you are brought to a delightful, gender separated locker room. The lockers are stocked with a towel, shoes (although I always bring my own slippers), and a silky robe to change into. There is a shower and sauna along with mirrors and vanity to prep yourself for post-relaxation adventures. Spa Royale's relaxation room is expansive. Unwinding officially starts for me when I get to put my feet up in one of their loungers with a hot cup of tea, mixed snacks, and/or flavored water (changes weekly). Their facials are heavenly and their massages are legendary! While the Grand Indulgence is luxurious, I would actually recommend the Himalayan Salt or Deep Tissue. The Grand indulgence and 90-minute facial are similar with the them massaging your arms and feet with body butter followed by warming mitts. The Grand Indulgence also adds an invigorating scalp massage complete with warm oil (Note: your hair has never felt so soft and vivacious... but you may not want to go to a 5-star restaurant dinner after). All their therapists are experts in their craft- a special shoutout goes to David! What I especially appreciate is their privacy and professionalism. They have a couple of dual rooms- which we usually pick. Great for mom/daughters or couples. You will feel comfortable the whole time! When I called back to try and reschedule for later in the day, I was told there would be a non-negotiable cancellation fee of $79, even if I rescheduled for later the same day. Absolutely outrageous. This is unacceptable customer service and a clear example of corporate greed. I will never give Hand and Stone another dollar. This is exactly why I prefer local spas--where clients are treated with care and respect. I highly recommend others do the same and support businesses that value their customers.

I have had extensions for over 7 years and have never had an experience like this one. I gave the stylist 3 chances to fix my hair, and each time they fell out. After my third visit that I again had to sit there and take time out of my work day so it could be "fixed" they fell out less than 48 hours later. At that point I politely requested a refund, as it was clear they did not know what they were doing. Mel the owner refused due to "policy" which I was never made aware of. Never in my life have I been spoken to as a client, like Mel spoke to me. She was incredibly rude and antagonistic. At no point did the stylist or owner apologize for the issues with my hair. Mel didn't even reach out to discuss the issues I was having or apologize for the incredibly poor experience. I had to contact the salon directly to get her to call me. Instead, Mel told me that "they don't offer IBE as a service" even though I texted the salon number directly to confirm they did and was scheduled with the stylist. Instead, Mel told me I was taking money out of the stylists paycheck if she refunded me. Sounds like she should rethink her business practices if you can't refund a client for shoddy work. I would be absolutely ashamed as an owner if a client was walking around town with her extensions completely falling out. I sent photos to the stylist who previously did my extensions and she told me they were very clearly installed incorrectly. My other stylist also looked up HFOS in the IBE certification data base and no one at the salon is certified in this service. They shouldn't be offering it. I told this to Mel and she said "no one in the area is certified", which is also not true. I now have to pay to go to my old stylist to have this completely redone with absolutely no compensation from the salon. The only thing I was offered was to come in again for a FOURTH time to have someone else take a look. I refuse to let a stylist who is not certified in this method touch my hair again. I expect that there is damage to my extensions due to the inappropriate application. My holiday photos are ruined, because my certified stylist cannot get me in before them. I would think incredibly hard before going to this salon and giving the owner who clearly cares nothing about her customers appearance or business.
