Wife and I found this B&B to stay at for a short weekend visit on the Bourbon Trail. Rich and Carol have a beautiful place. Our breakfast was delicious with items like bacon, French toast, eggs Benedict, hot coffee and fresh blueberries! Our room was very clean and comfortable. The Inn has various rooms from simple to luxury to suit all tastes. We will be back as we continue visiting the Bourbon trail as it's very central to many of the distilleries including Makers Mark, Willet, Limestone Branch, Jim Beam and more.

My husband and I just stayed here over the weekend and I cannot say enough about how wonderful it was. We were greeted by Carol and given a tour. The house was beautiful and smelled amazing (something delicious she was whipping up in the kitchen). The room was spacious and clean and overlooked the fields behind the house. I loved all of the little details. The next morning we were greeted with the most delicious breakfast and coffee before we started our trek home. We hope one day to return for even longer.

Gorgeous place, the nicest bnb I've ever stayed. Rich and Carol were gracious hosts. I highly recommend Wildflower Ranch!

Had a fantastic stay at this Bed and Breakfast. Carol was an awesome host the entire time and made me feel very welcome. After checking out some local bourbon distilleries, ventured over here in the early evening to wind down a bit near the pool area - the views are spectacular! Stayed in the Tiger Lily Suite and the room was extremely clean. Breakfast was French toast with berries and bacon - delicious and a great way to start the morning! Simply put, top notch all around. I hope to return sometime in the future!

Um, when I double checked where it was, I noticed the close at 7?!?? So we left as soon as we could and got there at 6:35 and yes,, they close at 7:00. But the one waiter there was fine with seating us and he did a good job and was so nice and calm. The place reminded mr of old school supper club type places your grandparents would take you too. Nothing splashy but cute. Upstairs there was a bar and seating area too. The food was soooo good. I got their chicken special and my husband got the steak special for the night. It was so much food but it was just good old cooking yet not just "plain". My husband said the mushrooms he got with the steak were easily the best he has ever had. We ate until we were going to burst. And it was getting late but the staff was not pushing us or anything (we tried to get done as quick as we could though for their sake). It was a really nice experience.

The ambiance was wonderful for a date...dimly lit, seated off in a corner, and history all around. We were seated quickly and met by the friendliest server we had on this trip. We had the catfish and Cornish hen and both were wonderful! The house made chips that came with the catfish were better than could have been imagined. We wrapped thermal up with house made cheesecake and it didn't disappoint either! I would highly recommend Toogie's if you are in Bardstown!

Please see more PHOTOS on my Trip Advisor review!…read more Without a doubt, The Hill House Bed and Breakfast is one of the most luxurious, charming, and just so good that it's almost decadent, destinations! The vibe and decor is an eclectic mix of yesteryear meets modern, bright and airy! It's a perfect blend! The new owners are still ongoing their projects of updating many things; yet it seems as if everything has already been done! There has been no detail left out! It's spic and span CLEAN from top to bottom! Super Cleanliness is a big PLUS for me! The breakfasts are absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS! The presentation in the Dining room is where the experience starts! Presentation truly is everything and The Hill House has it! Jim and Cheryl are both very creative people! I'm sure they'll keep the updates going until they have it just SO-SO to meet their level of what they want this lovely home to be! My cousin and I had a 2 night stay here while visiting the Bardstown KY area. I stayed in the Maple Room. My cousin was in the Magnolia room. I couldn't have been more fortunate than to have a chosen the room that just absolutely was everything I'd want it to be. (Be very careful of the lower door knobs or you get locked in your room. Jim is going to change out all of these. You'll be fine if you don't lock that bottom doorknob!) Thank you so much to Jim and Cheryl that made our stay truly enjoyable. Jim, an extra thank you for helping me exit out of the parking lot upon departure in the rain on those curvy roads. To Cheryl, I just hate it that with the rain and all that I forgot those amazing leftovers out of the fridge. I sure was looking forward to that later this evening! You both went above and beyond! Best of wishes to you on the rest of your Journey! I have just a couple of tips for anyone traveling here. You need to physically type in the address into your GPS. If you don't, you'll end up like me driving in circles in some of the most beautiful farmlands and rolling hills I've ever seen! That part was great, but, you may panic, like I did! The location is very easy to pass right by it and end up doing this. However, it was because I spoke my GPS instead of actually typing in the address. Also, if you should have any physical limitations, be aware that there are stairs down to the patio and then of course if you're staying in a room on the upper level, there are stairs. This is an Historic home and there are no elevators. Also, be prepared for a lot of winding roads in the areas between Bardstown and Loretto. The roads themselves are beautiful, but there are so many people that live there that drive SO FAST around those curves, that I was truly frightened a couple of times. I suppose the locals know the roads and they're not concerned. I hope someone in the City Council, or the Mayor, becomes concerned, and SOON. Better to advice their residents to cool it on these roads before someone dies a tragic death here. I hate to write that but I don't want anyone harmed on the roads of Loretto, KY. I can't believe the local law enforcement doesn't seem concerned about this.

I don't even normally like sausage. The biscuit and jam were so good too. All the food was delicious. I saw someone trash talk the breakfast buffet in an another review, but every bite I ate was good. I just came back from Disney, this was above the standard breakfast buffet in quality. IF you are wanting a relaxing, DINKS or retired experience, I'd look at the calendar before booking. The website stated that they bring fresh pumpkin muffins to your table. I was really excited about this. We went on a Friday morning and checked in. The host (an older gentleman) reminded me of someone that worked at a funeral home as he was not energetic or smile with a greeting. We were seated and sat there for quite a while. The room they put us in was a little darker than I like. When the waitress finally came to our table, which felt like forever we ordered our drinks and food at the same time asking for our condiments as well when ordering. She brought the muffins out and there were two little bite size muffins on a plate with two balls of butter (very disappointing). The butter was almost bigger than the muffins. I ordered the Shaker breakfast, and my husband ordered the biscuits and gravy. We each ordered a sweet tea to drink. The food came out with no drinks or condiments in which we had asked for. We had to remind her of our drinks, condiments etc. and my husband asked for some more water. The food overall was really good. However, our waitress never came back to check on us or to see if we needed anything. The restaurant wasn't busy and the other server in the area was very attentive to her customers offering them more muffins, drinks etc. I even made the comment to my husband that I wished she had been our waitress. Make sure to ask for butter and jam for your biscuit as they were a little dry to eat on its own but like I said our waitress never came back to check on us so I couldn't ask. The water my husband asked for never came until we were completely done with our food at that point, we were ready for the check. The waitress brought a pitcher of water, and we asked for our check. She never once asked how our food was. We decided that based on our service that we will not be visiting this restaurant in the future. Sometimes the service can be a make or breaking deal.

I had a salad and my family members had steak and shrimp that was in essence a reflection of the wholesome nature that steak and bourbon provides you with. We usually try to go to the one downtown but this time we went to the one on the east side for the sake of the reservation. The saxophone player was very talented. Which, made me leave him a cash tip as I love jazz. It is fair to say, that we had a phenomenal experience based on how well we were treated by our server who was a recent transplant from out of state and even the U.S. as she shared her story with us which was very much so moving and compelling. We always have a wonderful time at steak and bourbon together as a family. But, I personally will have to point out that my favorite part of the whole dinner is the live music and the wonderful ambiance that in a way, fosters excitement, and intimacy if the right person or people happen to join you during such a special environment.

For apps, I ordered lobster bisque & he ordered French onion soup & we both agreed the quality is the best we've had in Louisville, he even went as far to claim it's the best he's had in Louisville. So delicious!! We both weren't fans of the candle bread, sure it's intriguing & unique but it was too oily, bland, & salty to really enjoy. For entrees I had the NY strip which was made med rare exactly how I enjoy it along with their homemade steak sauce but be wary the charge $2 for it!!! My side was the shepherds pie & I was extremely full & couldn't finish anything the soups were filling!! My partner ordered ribeye and omg it was amazing, sooooo juicy & yummy full of flavors I wish I had gotten it, thankfully he shared. He ordered side of parm broccoli & they're very generous with the cheese that he even had to scrap some off. We had to order the complimentary multi layered dessert to go because we were toooooo full!! Everything was worth the money well spent & I paired mine with extra dirty martini & both my partner & I claim it's one of the best we've had! This place is def worth the hype & we should've gone here sooner!!! I want to check out their downtown location as well, but it's also nice to shop around the Westport area. Love love love!!
