I recently moved to the area from California and was shopping around for a stylist. I'd say I'm pretty picky when it comes to my hair bc I needed a color correction to stay icy white/platinum color. She was accommodating to squeeze me in before August 24th with only four days window. I spent roughly 6 hours with her and she was able to get my hair lighter than my initial stylist in CA. My go to hair cut place. My stylist in the past have went by the wayside moving out of state, or changing locations out of my area. This place takes only walk in haircuts, to get a color you must make an appointment. I have even asked for a color when no other customers were present and more than one stylist present was met with a you must make an appointment. My cut today was $21.00 quickly done. TV is usually playing a movie and they seem to have lots of repeat customers. I don't go often so I don't feel like a regular yet. They don't shampoo you just spray your hair down with a water bottle, if you want blown dry and styled that is extra. Located in the strip mall, CPA, Subway, China House Restaurant and a few others I am not familiar with. Right off highway 18. It used to be a lot more convenient for me to come here when I lived in renton, but not I live in Northgate and it's a hell of a drive (especially on weekdays!) even though it can take me 1.5 hours to get here, I still come see Huong. I found Huong through Instagram and booked an appointment with her about a month in advance. She was one of the few Asian colorists I found in the greater Seattle area that had an opening within a month's notice. I sent her my hair history and also a picture of my current hair and my desired hair. She was very upfront and honest with me about what she could achieve. On the day of, I was the only client in the salon and the door was locked so others could not come in. This felt very safe as I didn't have to worry about COVID risk. Huong is very conversational and she was genuinely interested in learning more about me. She also had the TV on in case I wanted to watch anything. My hair is very voluminous and thick, so it took about 5.5 hours from start to finish. My hair color turned out a little lighter than what I expected, in a good way. With how dark my hair was and given my hair history, I didn't know my hair could get this light but she did it and I think it speaks to Huong's talent! read more

I've only started coming here in the last 2-3 years for my hair colors, and I mean, various colors - purple, blue, green, grey, pink, but also getting blonde done in various ways. Huong is my main girl for color, and I am assuring you she is the best colorist i've met so far. She keeps up with new techniques and almost always achieves the look I want. She has spent hours upon hours on me. The reason being is that I have asian hair, and it's that black/brown color, so a lot more has to be done! She has never disappointed me and if something doesn't come out exactly as we planned, she will fix it to the exact thing we are going for. She is reasonably priced, meaning she is worth the money. You'll know the difference between a good hair job and bad. For cuts, I recently started using the other ladies in the shop as I have a inverted bob cut, which is their specialty apparently. This review is for Huong. I got her name from a friend who had been going to her for years. I was looking for someone who could fix my blonde. I went to someone else for the first time to go from asian virgin black hair color to platinum blonde and I know that it wasn't an easy task to do in the first place. Needles to say, it did not go as expected and I ended up with much shorter and damaged hair, that was uneven in color and brassy. I traveled from Redmond to see Huong. She did some magic to my hair and totally saved it! My color is even as intended and Im loving how light she was able to get it. It's been about 2 months and the blonde color still looks great with some minor self maintenance. She was very thorough and made it seem so easy. Also, she charges less.
