Wild Wooly's Saloon
Albert W.

It's no secret that our hero has very low standards for the bars that he visits. As a sketchy dive bar in the unexplored dirty south, Wild Wooley's was no exception. Our hero could tell by the dress code posted by the back door that Wild Wooley's was a place where you should watch your step. DRESS CODE: -------------------- - No gang related tattoos - No tattoos above the neck - No gang related clothing - No mens tank tops -------------------- After such a rigid and classy dress code, it's a bit strange how there's no door man at either of the two entrances to the bar. PROS: - The beer selection is actually kind of decent for a dive bar. Stella, Guinness, Sam Adams and quite a few taps are available beyond the standard Miller and Bud. - They have a private parking lot in the back. CONS: - Although the bartender will tell you "everything's cheap", a pitcher of Tecate for $14 isn't exactly "cheap". Everything is fairly moderately priced, which is kind of strange for a bar of this caliber. - By the way, don't use the word "caliber" in the bar... it seems to have some gang problems. I'm surprised there's no sign explicitly banning firearms from the bar.

So upon entering, be prepared to hand your ID to the security guy and stand behind the yellow line and look at the camera for about 10 seconds. They take a picture of your whole body and then your face and then your ID... You know, in case you stab someone hahaa. So the atmosphere is pretty chill, its a typical dive bar. However the prices were a bit much for the place. I drank vodka/juice and long islands which were $7.50 each. They also have those small bags of chips behind the bar so that's cool... then high tops and pool tables. It's a chill spot to go to to pregame I guess.. or maybe to pregame after your pregame at home but before you get to the actual place you want to go to :)

La Dottie works here. One of the best bartenders. She'll make fun of you most of the time but she's really cotton wrapped in Barbwire.

We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, the kids cheeseburger and chips with guacamole with salsa. The chicken was perfectly crispy, juicy, and well seasoned. The fries were crunchy and perfectly salted, and my son loved his cheeseburger. The guacamole was pretty tasty, but I can't say the same for the salsa. It was pretty bland. Our server, Celeste, was very attentive and took care of us. I appreciated that she also went out of her way to move the umbrellas to make sure the sun wasn't in our faces. I loved sitting outdoors during sunset. It was quiet in the patio, and even though the ocean is in the distance, the view was lovely.

The Brussel sprouts were on happy hour which were half price at $8-they were delicious. My husband got the buffalo fries which were not good and the blue cheese had no flavor. Also, ordered micheladas and those were not good at all. The screens to watch sports are amazing. The waitress also came by to let us know that it was a smoke free area and to put our vapes away which we did not smoke just had them on the table, so I thought that was strange to tell us. The upstairs was not open even though they were full downstairs. If it wasn't for their multiple screens I would never come here to eat or drink.

I was previously complaining about those sad, crappy tater tots you guys started serving. I mean... I was concerned. I was disappointed. I may have questioned our entire relationship. But we stopped by for dinner last week and, to our absolute delight, discovered that the GOOD tater tots are BACK! And then you went and added those new potato balls?!? Those things are the effing bomb! Seriously, whoever came up with those deserves a raise. So, I owe you guys an apology for all the tater-tot negativity. I'm going to see if I can find my old post and delete it because you guys have officially gotten back in my good graces. Well played. Welcome back to the tater-tot Hall of Fame.

We didn't realize the sausage party already included pretzel bites so we had double the amount of pretzels, our server failed to mention this to us. The food was unfortunately extra greasy, we felt so sick with all the grease that we couldn't finish it. The "pretzel" bites tasted like slices bread soaked in oil. The sausages were also all covered in oil. I would not have paid regular price for this food. Aside from that, staff was super nice. I just think they could improve on the amount of oil they use in their food!

This is always a great sign. The manager, Ben, is awesome. He greeted us and added us to the waitlist. We were seated after 10mins of waiting in a great spot. Our favorite server, Nathan, is a lead now. We were seated in Matt's area and he was our server. Nathan came by to say hi and greet us, this is excellent customer service here. Matt was also great and customer service oriented and he took our order for table apps and drinks. The ambiance here is fun, family friendly, cool, and good vibes all around. They have a DJ some Saturdays. There are also very cool theme nights. Tonight was "Wing Wednesday". I posted a photo of the theme nights. For example, Thursday is Teachers 15% Discount Day and Karaoke. The walls, seating, and table decor is very nice. The design element here is wonderful. Our food: Bulgogi Fries App for the table starter, Fish and Chips, Chicken Katsu Plate, Side Order of Garlic Fried Rice, And 10 (4 Salted Pepper, 2 BBQ, 2 Sweet Chili, 2 Buffalo) of the $2 each wings. The food was great! The vibe is awesome, and the overall experience was great. We also got a chance to talk to Ben the Manager, Nathan the lead server, and Matt our server tonight. They all came to check on us to make sure that everything was going well in our dining experience. We HIGHLY recommend stopping here to enjoy a great dining experience.

The second time we went I got the chicken wings and the side ceaser salad. The wings were not crispy enough and there was zero flavor in the breading. The salad was boring. Hubby got the cobb salad which was a large portion but otherwise just ok. note that there is no outdoor seating so leave Fido home. Probably would not bother coming back here.

I sat down in the back with my friends and shortly thereafter, one of the employees said that we can have VIP seating at the front! I was hesitant at first being so close to the stage because I don't want to be a target for the comics who do crowd work. We had to purchase a two item minimum per person, which is standard for any comedy club. Drinks and apps were over priced with the lowest item being the White Claw canned drink for $8. We got two cocktails, chips with guacamole and pretzel bites. The pretzel bites were soft, chewy and warm. The chips were kinda plain and the guacamole was okay. The opener was John Liu who is half Japanese and half Filipino. He was kinda funny. My first time seeing Rex in action and he has some funny, relatable bits in his set. I would have enjoyed it more if the couple in the same table wasn't talking constantly throughout the show. Overall , friendly staff, area was comfortable.

The Halloween decorations added a fun seasonal touch, and having a DJ playing music gave the place a lively atmosphere. Overall, great service, delicious wings, and a fun vibe.
