I just finished my second round here and the course was in fantastic shape. great holes and very peaceful as most holes have no homes on them. just surrounded by woods and lakes. I'm at this golf course right now. It cost a $126.00 for a round of golf. Our tee time was at 12:45, and we didn't tee off until 1:28PM. When we reached the starter on the 1st tee it was 8 groups waiting to tee off. The greens are in terrible condition, but the fairways are in good shape. The course layout was very nice but until they fix the greens this course shouldn't charge $126.00 for a round of golf. read more

So the driving range is not available- the guy at the check in desk could not have been more rude about it - his words to us were - we are not a driving range we are a golf course - so there was no warm up - when asked for a score sheet - his words were our starter gives you those - it was not necessarily what he said but the tone with how he said it. We should have just gotten a refund and gone somewhere else- but one and done and Never again - to many other great golf courses in Myrtle Beach to deal with that ever again - I would give less then one star if we could read more

Enjoyable round of golf on a Tuesday with a 1:24 tee time. 4 hour round of golf, no waiting. This course is so unique with large mounds and deep bunkers. The course is lined with trees on all fairways. Lakes and marsh come into play. The course plays long and especially long for us from altitude. The staff was friendly. We played Wild Wing, Avocet on Day 3 of our guy's golf trip. The course was in great shape. Very hilly and pretty challenging but a fun course to play. Was a little annoyed with the ranger when he asked us to keep up with the group in front of us when we were 2:10 for 9 holes, and not holding up anyone behind us... literally almost a full hole ahead of the group behind us. The clubhouse was very nice and the lunch menu was by far the best of the 3 courses we played that weekend. (Man O' War & The Wizard)... would definitely play here again when I come back to Myrtle Beach. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My sister had her wedding here on Saturday and it was a complete disaster. Construction on full display, accompanied by super loud construction noises during her ceremony, the reception hall was close to 80 degrees, bathrooms were filthy and smelled like they hadn't been cleaned in days, ROACHES AND WATERBUGS crawling inside the bridal suites, food was freezing and disgusting, Bar ran out of alcohol AND soda. Three tiered tee boxes and double tiered huge greens are the beginning and ending points of a spectacular golf track located just on the outskirts of Myrtle Beach. Each hole is picturesque in rhythm, flow with its natural surroundings, it contours the land perfectly. Holed such as Jigsaw are par fours of ample width and distance that appear safe from the teeing ground, until you approach your next shot and observe what lyes ahead. Well protected greens with bunkers a few feet deep, surrounding your landing area not allowing mis hits to be spared. Shorter par 4's like Double Dare and The Valley of Sin leave the player a difficult decision to make. Swing the driver for a short pitch to the green or layup to yardage that is longer, but the route is safer. The choice can reward or penalize, its up to you. Truth be told, I loved this course. On this day, everything went extremely well during my round. The weather cooperated nicely, no players before nor after me which avoided unnecessary distraction, all lead up to a respectable scorecard. read more

1st time with my group this spring 20 guys, Zach something gm...unprofessional with a few simple questions and when I went to speak with him he walked right by me and our group. Course is ok...but TERRIBLE management....I looked up founders has like 20 courses..if this is their management practice..crap on groups that pay...find other courses to play...bad experience. read more

What an enjoyable round! Players of all skill levels will find that Avocet will challenge and delight them. The course is anything but boring with many risk/reward style holes and a spacious layout that incorporates nature instead of housing developments. So many other courses at Myrtle Beach surround you with houses and condos while you golf, but not Wild Wing Avocet. The greens were in great shape and played true and challenging. Multiple tee box options, so choose wisely. Many multi tiered and undulating greens will test your ability to read the contours. Pace of play was just right and we finished our round in just under four hours. For comparison sake, I also played MBN King's North this week and found Avocet to be both a more challenging and enjoyable round. I probably won't play King's North again, but will definitely be back to Wild Wing Avocet! read more

Played this course about 20 years ago and it was in mint condition. Not so much anymore. Tough course, fairways were in great shape but the greens were just sanded and seeded and was not told about it ahead of time so very tough to putt on. The ladies tee boxes are non existent, basically red tees put out in fairway with no designated tee area. The cart paths were in terrible shape, asphalt was all broken and big torn up areas. Clubhouse was closed by the time we finished and it was 7pm. read more

Came to wild wing from Baltimore area in February. A beautiful sunny 67° days and the course was in magnificent shape. The greens were well groomed, and faaaast!! Bunkers were soft and the roughs were challenging. Course layout asked for every club in my bag. The staff were more than friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately a group of "gentlemen" out on the course were behaving in a less-than classy fashion.. so much to the point that the Ranger made a point to come apologize to us on behalf of the course. Once back in the pro shop after 18, the Manager spent ample time speaking with us and assuring us that was not the behavior they accept on their course. We were more than satisfied with the lengths they took to amend the situation and assure our return. (Even other course members took their own time to come speak to us and relate that they, also, hold themselves and the course to the highest of standards.) We will definitely return. The course if priced fair and the course layout is good. The greens are pretty good for the April weather and the staff is nice. Eat before you play here because the pulled pork sandwich I had was very poor. Great course to start off your golf trip! This is my 3rd time playing it. read more

Really nice people in the clubhouse and got us out fast and without hassle and the course was in good condition for being wet. They were decent people unlike another course near them... Myrtle Beach National was rude and off puting. So if you are considering either course, choose Wild Wing. Also has premier clubs, tees, apparel, etc. in the pro shop. We recently had my baby shower here. We booked the room in advance and were promised tables, chairs, and clean linens for the tables they have already in the room. Trash cans and they would clean up. Nothing more. Mind you- clean up wasnt much.... We had the room for 3 hours and could set up the morning of before our event at 1pm. Not only was there confusion on which room we booked (one tried saying our TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS was for the bar area. Are you kidding me) but the room had a divider we were told could go up to avoid seeing the other half of this giant space. The other half had chairs and tables all over and a set up of tables + chairs with opposing colors of what we were doing. Wouldn't be a big deal had the divider not been BROKEN!!!!!! They decided to tell us while we were setting up THAT DAY that it was broken and couldn't be used so my fiancé had to move and assemble tables and chairs to make it look even a quarter way decent considering the tables and chairs everywhere and what looks like would be another event in the same room as ours. With blue cloth over the white linens to hide how DIRTY they are. Not only did we have to deal with that and staff who were never once on the same page, the floors (especially near the kitchen walkway area that we were not allowed to use) was dirty with crumbs and wrappers everywhere. Our guests walked this space and we needed it as we only had half the area. The white linens they provided were absolutely disgusting and stained and sloppily thrown on the tables for us to fix along with the placement of the tables and chairs that were thrown where they were, tight and messy. Had we had another location on hand and the audacity to tell 30+ guests to go somewhere else that day- we would have. It was absolutely PATHETIC. My mom, the hostess, submitted a google review and they DISPUTED IT SO PEOPLE CANNOT SEE WHAT A JOKE THEY ARE! She called again to find out if anything was being done since the last they spoke and we were told that the team at wild wing feels the money we spent for what they gave us is justified and they are offering absolutely no form of compensation for our time there which was displeasing to say the least: dirty, confusion from staff, maintenance workers walking in and out of our guests and at the main entrance parked in bag drop, a random man walking throughout our room, us cleaning up things they left out on counter top, picking up crumbs and papers, wiping down the wooded area, changing table cloths, moving furniture, a lady interrupting while doing gifts to tell us what time it was and someone else would be coming in, ONE TRASH CAN SO TRASH WAS ON THE GROUND IN FRONT OF GUESTS, etc. We were the only people at this place that day besides the workers. Wild wing making up for their complete lack of professionalism and terror on my big day is no loss of theirs- it would have saved them more in the long run versus what is about to happen. We ultimately lost because of you, so thanks WWP. Nice to see how you operate so we can warn many others before booking you for events. Nothing but an expensive, gut wrenching, and rude headache. Great condition, greens little slow. Very slow play 5 1/2 hours in afternoon totally unacceptable. The range who came around was not interested in pace of play. Not worth the waiting as there are to many choices of great courses to choose from. Will not be back. read more

This golfing experience was amazing. I am a beginner golfer and really needed a course that was not overly crowed, where I could take a little more time than the more seasoned golfers. This place was extremely accommodating. Perks: 9 hole course that is meticulously maintained. Not overly crowded. Cheap. Great staff. We really enjoyed spending time at Wild Wing Course. The course was easy enough for a beginner but not too easy that an experienced golfer could not enjoy a round here. I highly recommend this place for a nice day of golf. read more
