Not sure why this course has a low 3 star rating it's a great classic designed course. I rate based on course not any other reason.

Course was in lousy shape. There has been plenty of rain here lately and most fairways are super saturated and cart path only which makes for a long round. I expect the price to be reflective of the experience, but it was priced rather high for golfing in a mud bog. Call the course before booking. If it's cart path only, definitely avoid. read more

Started at 9:21 today and finished in 5.5 hours. The Marshall said it's always slow, the course can't handle foursomes...WTH?!? If it can't handle foursome either break them with singles/doubles or spread the start times. The extremely poor course management and overly slow pace of play made my $128 in green fees a waste of time and money. The driving range was nice; the phot guy was friendly but after that it was the arrogance of we are "TPC" that has this golfer not seeing a return. I enjoyed the Dyer course and Kings North but TPC needs to realize they are a vacation attraction and not an uptight exclusive course, you need to practice customer service as much as I need to practice my swing. read more

One of the worst courses we play for the money (72.00). It might have been ok at 30.00... even then I would not come back. Brown spots everywhere, fairways, tee boxes and greens. Guy in pro shop was bragging on the greens, he needs to get out more if he thinks these are in good shape. Many better places to play for less money. Came here on a guys golf trip. Very nice course, in great shape. Staff is excellent! Three stars due to the 5+ hour round of golf. We waited on every shot on every hole. The course is over booked. Course was in rough shape, grainy greens, tee boxes were awful, layout was nice but for $178.00 in mid October this was far from worth it. Worse course we played all week and most expensive. One of the pros approached us after the round (apparently a ranger advised him of our complaints) and told us that normally the greens et al are in great shape and that they had over-seeded the whole course unlike all of the other courses in Myrtle and that we should come back another time, (he suggested in March) and that the course will be in great shape! March? We were down for an annual Fall 4 to 5 round golf trip, so his suggestion was ridiculous.....how about a refund of 1/2 our greens fee??? I booked this course with two others for a guys trip. Heard it was amazing course but after playing it I was not impressed. Kinda played a little slow almost 5 hours for the round. The course was pretty beat up with lots of rot or fungus on the fairways and greens. So overall I was disappointed consider the price I paid of $100 for the round. The only bright spot was the cart girls and the clubhouse staff were amazing. read more

Food was good, but nothing truly special. The setting is very nice, and the availability of outdoor dining on a nice day is a plus.

Although the course was in good condition, the reason it was is because they were cart path only. The fairways were dry and there was no reason for this accept we were told there were having a tournament there next week and wanted the course to be in good shape. It was very warm today with a heat index of 105. I think it was very irresponsible to make people play cart path only when it was completely dry. It seems to be typical of The Founders Group lately. read more

Overrated! Staff was rude and unhelpful. Had cart path only when the course was dry and playable. Some "soft" areas could have been marked off to limit cart traffic. I have played here several times now. Probably won't do so again. The day we played was a little rough to be nice. We dodged grass cutting equipment and maintenance on 6-7 holes. In fact, I swore they were following us. Several other holes they had tree grinding going on as well. Lastly, we were not warned and 9 greens were top dressed. They offered no warning or discount. We played at better than average speed and were pushed by several twosomes - seriously? How about matching them up? I like the course but probably won't return. There are too many options in Myrtle. I really try hard to not give a real negative review. It just really wasn't an enjoyable experience this last time. The staff in pro shop, marshall's and starters were great. TPC Myrtle Beach; fantastic clubhouse, restaurant, and locker room. The clubhouse is a shrine to local boy Dustin Johnson. The range was nice and wide open, but I was surprised that I was charge for balls. The course conditions were the worst of the four courses, but not "bad". The fairway bunkers need a lot of TLC. A few tee boxes were bare dirt. The greens may have been the fastest of the four courses. The beautiful, tall, blond beer cart girl was extremely rude after we waived her by. She said, "Your carts are in the way please move them" rather than just waiting for our group too tee off. After that, we never saw her again which was fine with us. Had the opportunity to play golf there on 13 Mar 2013 as part of our yearly trip to Myrtle Beach from Niagara Falls. I was really excited to have this course on our list to play this year. The course opened in 1999 and it is a tough but fair course that will challenge every aspect of your game. This course is a member of the PGA Tour's Tournament Players Club network and was designed by Tom Fazio. I was going to play a course where the big boys play! I was not disappointed as every aspect of the course from its tee boxes, pine tree line fairways, sand traps and greens were all in excellent condition. It was as if we were the only ones on the course as the tee times were spread out enough between groups that you rarely saw anyone else on the course which made it relaxing and memorable. I will put this course on my list of must play again and cannot wait for that day to come, read more

Played the TPC Myrtle Beach while on a golf weekend with the guys. We payed extra to get the TPC added into our package and it was supposed to be the "highlight" of our trip. It ended up being the worst of the 5 courses we played that weekend. The layout was nice and the staff seemed friendly however the maintenance was terrible. The majority of the greens were bare and fairways were in very rough shape. We were told it was due to a tournament that had been played a few weeks before, but considering the terrible conditions we should've been warned so we could cancel or at least have been given a partial refund. We might try the TPC again in the future but it left a pretty bad taste in our mouths the first time. read more

Don't know how to really describe this place other to day probably the best $35.00 round of golf I have ever had. Layout is typical Fazio and conditions were top notch. Rolling through tall pines with lots of various bring your game approaches and put your thinking cap on course management shots. Greens were not as fast as the putting green which would have been great if they were. Nice driving range, clubhouse top shelf and with the Summer Golf Pass I'd be shocked to find a better layout or set up than this place for this price. about $150.00 in season. Only knock was ranger was M.I.A. after the 5th hole and the group in front of us lagged at least 2 holes behind the group in front of them. I know its public golf but pick the phucking ball up after awhile. Standing and waiting on every shot is no way to maintain rhythm. I will not knock them just for that but RANGERS GET ON THESE GUYS. I'm posting this while on the course. This is the slowest round ever. 3 hour front and back is slower. I called the pro shop on the 10th tee and he said he would send a ranger out. When the ranger showed we had 2 foursomes waiting. He took the call from the pro shop 5 ft in front of me and said "there is no one here". I could not believe my ears. So stay away. With all the great courses in Myrtle why bother with this one just because It's a TPC. Not in great shape and there are much better layouts in the area. read more

Twelve of us teed off starting at 9:03A on the back nine. Handicaps ranging from 4 to 20. On the 4th hole we were already being told to pick up the pace. That we were 5 minutes behind. On the 6th hole, again being told we needed to pick up the pace and that we were a whole hole behind. Not holding anyone up, but behind. On the the 7th hole an assistant from the pro shop came out, told us we were playing too slow, and suggested having us play the par 3 17th, skip 18, play the front nine, then play the 18th last. AGAIN, we were not holding anyone up but, by the course's standards we were playing too slow. Then, one more time with 3 holes left, we were told we had 43 minutes to finish. Needless to say I felt rushed and it was the most unenjoyable round of golf I've ever played. TPC Myrtle Beach is a challenging course. And with wide range of handicaps playing, you're going to have some good holes and bad holes. We finished in 4hrs 45min. We payed $114 each. To most, a lot to pay for a round of golf. A treat for the golf enthusiast. As it turns out the staff was more worried about getting us off the course for they're afternoon tee times then they were about letting us enjoy our round at TPC Myrtle Beach. read more

Like all courses in the area this time of year, it can play a bit wet. TPC designers did a good job of engineering some run off in critical areas making it less wet than most. The greens are very good and can be quick. Bunkers are real PGA style with soft sand. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. read more

A complete ripoff! The course should be closed for repair. $70 with no warning the greens are a patchwork of new sod areas and complete burnout. The traps are being reworked and unusable. Cart path only on Sunday because it rained Thursday is one indication the drainage problems are serious. Absolutely the worst condition of any course I've played in over a decade. For a course rated as a tournament quality this couldn't have been off the mark more. There is no excuse for taking advantage of customers. read more

Just leaving after a 3 hour front 9. I would not recommend playing here. The staff was not only unwilling to refund our money but they behaved as if 6 hour round is par for the course (pun intended). All the staff we spoke with confirmed this. Amazing that TPC can let this course be apart of their otherwise really special elite courses. I chose to play here because I don't know the courses in Myrtle Beach and wrongfully assumed that the TPC name would suggest that this was a premium course - both in terms of the course itself , the operations and caliber of staff. read more

Let's just start with the fact this course is north of 100$. Burnt fairways, tee boxes, and scalped greens make me wonder how in the world this course is still in business. If you like 5 and half hour rounds of golf, this is your spot. Had a group of geriatric men in front walking. Looked like they were on their deathbeds. Tried to call the clubhouse and they never answered. The bunkers are filled with less than two inches of sand. Would be fine if there wasn't concrete under them. Reading the greens are like reading hieroglyphics in Egypt. If you think it's going to break it'll go straight. If you think it's straight it breaks ten feet. All around a terrible experience. For a place that is meant to be "tournament players club" it's pretty disappointing. You'll have better course conditions at Congo putt putt up the street. Really upset to see Dustin Johnson's name associated with this dog track. read more

Expensive for the conditions. Pins were in ridiculous positions. Had a group of 24 golfers, everyone had the same complaint. Massive greens, and some of the holes were 1-2 yds on the front. Won't be back as there are so many options in Myrtle. read more

One of the nicest courses i've played on, BUT the people that run it and the rangers are the worst group of people i've ever been around. You are rushed from hole 1 till hole 18, Always saying you're not playing fast enough when we were playing at the correct pace. The ranger threaten to make us skip holes , We had one player who had a handicap flag and we were still pace of play, We had a group of 12 players who they have lost forever,They're a lot of courses out there that will welcome us with open arms i'm sure. read more

We just played yesterday, June 4,2018....greens were severely damaged, Frost kill, and when we made the reservation and then paid at the golf shop, nobody said a word about it. We complained afterwards and no one offered to refund any money of about $80 per person. Very misleading to the public!! read more

Delightful experience. Staff was +++. 3-4 greens with winter kill/algae but they accommodated players with $25 gift card for pro shop or restaurant. Great course, a little slow, challenging but not back-breaking. No ocean views but very enjoyable day. Best track I've played here. Rained the previous 2 days so the course was wet in some areas - crews were working hard however to get everything back to normal - some traps will just need time to dry out... Overall we had a good time golfing at TPC. Pros: Clubhouse staff was super friendly and professional Pro shop has great selection Tom Fazio course design is great Exceptional driving holes and views of the tall pine trees Complimentary towels and yardage books on the carts was a great touch Course Ranger Gentleman is super nice and kept coming by offering ice water Cons: The greens were the slowest greens by far that we have ever played on any golf vacation. Maybe they didn't mow the morning we played but it hadn't rained. Very loud! There are maintenance workers everywhere. At least two per hole mowing, weed whacking etc. A mower drove right by us and sprayed toward us and I got dirt in my eyes. Seriously. A large tractor with red trailer attached drove into the fairway as one of our drives was landing and came a few feet from hitting him. They had a chipper machine cutting stumps and spraying the chips right by the cart path on two holes. Super loud! I felt like we were in their way all day. Maybe we happened to play on a morning that was their big maintenance day. Perhaps give a discount on the maintenance days since it is pricey to play and really impacts the entire experience. Bathrooms- front nine bathroom was not good. Looked and smelled like a truckstop. The back nine bathroom was nice. Cart was very, very hard to steer and took some muscle to turn. Sand is white in some bunkers and yellow in some. Just looks a bit odd next to each other visually from the tees. read more
