Just today my husband went for a beer - the bartender took his glass when there was about an inch left and dumped it out. I was surprised to learn that they only had breaded wings, fine, it's been a while. Fries were frozen, did not order. I ordered suicide wings. Sadly, they were anything but. They were some kind of Sysco kinda sauce, lots of sugar, a bit of spice the only thing suicide was the death wish of boring and uninspired wing sauce. The server had to ask the owner/cook as they had a $3 up charge. The owner refused my request. He had stated to the server that it was 'the law' being a former restaurant owner and knowing a thing or two, I knew the response was ridiculous and most of all lazy and closed minded. Not a great way to inspire a return visit. Owner in dire need to give his head a shake. Unlikely to return. Even if you have decent food and don't give enough of a damn to listen to your clientele, why would I or anyone want to return. Service was great in spite of all of this.

I phoned in the afternoon by we were a group of about 10, so I wanted to give them a heads up. Because they are a newer St Louis, they don't officially take reservations yet, but when I got there, they had a table prepped for us! Super nice! 2 members of our group were unexpectedly really late, about 30 minutes. During that time, the service was good, fairly attentive, pretty quick with the drinks, and our fried dill pickles came out quickly. We did advise them that we wanted to wait until our whole group arrived to order our meals. The fried dill pickles were really good! But once our latecomers arrived the service slowed down, a lot. It took almost an hour for our food to come out after ordering. I had the chicken tinga tacos, and they were smothered in dressing. Way too much dressing, especially cuz they already had guacamole and the tinga sauce. Then my side salad had a few slimy pieces, you know when it's about to go really bad? Overall the rest of the table had wings, and they seemed quite happy with them. We were there for about 3 hours, even with socializing and our party running late was way too long for a dinner at a wing place.

I ordered a sweet chilli wings and upgrade the fries to their St.Louis poutine and I don't think the poutine was worth the cost of the upgrade as it was a small regular poutine with scallions and a chopped up chicken finger. I'm sure if you order the St.Louis poutine on its own, it would be worth it but not as a side upgrade in my opinion. The wings were good but nothing special that would have me coming back immediately. Next time I want to try the waffle fries as I heard they are amazing.

A few minutes later, another server did return to the entry area so we approached her to ask for a table. Eventually, we were seated and the wait wasn't the 45 minutes we were told it would be (thank goodness). You could tell this place is a local favourite. It was packed. Lots of screens showing the olympics and would be fun for any televised sporting events. We ordered 4 servings of 5 different flavours of wings. They were all plump and delicious. We also had loaded onion rings and a poutine with pulled pork. The evening picked up with better service and even better food so we were happy and full.

So this time I ordered the Greek Salad - well let me tell you it sure didn't look like their picture on their website! The iceberg lettuce consisted of all the yucky parts of the lettuce and it was brown on the edges of some. The slices of tomatoe (or lack thereof) were pale in colour and taste. My friend ordered a BLT and it came without tomatoe - I guess I got the last part of the only tomatoe they had. I have ordered their chicken sandwich in the past which was very good and this is why I came back, but let me tell you I will never again! Another comment was when the waitress came to our table and asked what we wanted to drink - we said water. Her reply was well you will have to order a drink if you want the special - wings. I didn't even have a chance to look at the menu yet - it was very rude.

They got new management as of late May (maybe that's why "Wow!" has been dropped from the name) so the old reviews are probably no longer relevant. Got a pound of Texas Hot: hot with taco seasoning & ranch. They were crispy enough though not very crispy. The flavour was sour & spicy: the spiciness was on the edge of being intolerable (certainly not what I'd expect for only 2 chilis) & quite sour. The flavour was decent but the hot taste predominated - I couldn't taste the taco seasoning & couldn't really taste the ranch: it just registered as a vaguely creamy sauce (when I had it on its own I could just about taste it & recognise it as ranch, though my palate was quite shot out by the spiciness).
