Had a check up scheduled for over 6 months, then I received a call stating they would not be located at this location that day since they are a traveling team and would be at the Gilbert location. I said I was able to go to that location and person over the phone, seemingly agitated agreed and then hung up on me. Next day I receive another call demanding I reschedule due to surgery being scheduled at the time of my appointment. How that changed from being able to go to a different location, to not being able to accommodate at all when the appointment has been booked, and it was just a few days before the appointment, it reads very unprofessional and disorganized. On top of that, I'm now out hundreds of dollars of pay from taking off work for the appointment that they double booked themselves for. I had waited 40 mins passed my appointment time ! I understand they have other patients I don't mind waiting 10-15-20 mins BUT 40? they're children . They don't have that much patience. Then when I told them if reschedule they sounded annoyed with me . I should have read the reviews before coming here. Nothing has changed. I had an appointment and still had to wait over 45 min. The fist dental assistant who took my daughters X-rays was super nice and patient. But the dentist was rude from the start. Didn't even acknowledge me as the parent and said maybe two things to my daughter which were very rude sounding. He was impatient and seemed like he was in a rush. I understand why they do not allow you to be in the room when they use general anesthesia but how could a parent feel that their child is safe alone with a dentist like that working in the same building. It just seems like a very sketchy place. After signing the paperwork with the pricing on it for her future visit they told me the pricing on it was wrong and added $100 more to it. I've called l, call after call during business hours to make my daughter an appointment due to a tooth bothering her and your business does not answer the phones. I wasn't aware we had to beg a business's for there Service. I've always got a bad attitude from the staff. The girls that sit in the front are more worried about taking down all the staffs Starbucks orders. Wild West Children's Dentistry - I've called them 12 times with NO ANSWER! - Pediatric Dentists Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

My issue is the waiting. I understand that things happen, and that there may be some delay. The scheduled dental procedure for my son was at 9:00am. Around 9:15/9:20, I was told they were a bit behind so it would be another 30/45 minutes. My son was taken back after 11:30. My issue is my son had not eaten since 9:30pm the day prior. He couldn't have water even. What in the world caused such a bad time management for a doctor office?? There was a person in the waiting room who had a baby and toddler. Both would go back and forth from the waiting area to the back office area. I am almost certain they were related to someone in the reception. This bothered me, because I felt like they should have been doing more. A lot of their time was spent on interactions and speaking to the other adults and the two kiddos. These kids were walkIng back and forth like they owed the place. Was this related to my kid having to wait for hours to be seen? If so, that's the most unprofessional thing to ever happen and I hope I never confirm that to be the case. There was one moment also when someone came and told me info about another patient (they had the same name as my kid). So, I'm sitting there hearing about a crazy extraction and the staff is like "wait there are two"... The whole day seemed horrendously mismanaged... The front office mannerisms are horrid. Very unprofessional and they don't look happy. I get it if you don't like your job, but pretend, fake it til you make it ya know. My wait time is the reason I am not giving them 5 stars. The front office staff is the reason I am not giving it 4 stars. The DENTAL staff; the dentist and back staff is super nice and made my son feel very welcome. In the couple of times we've been here, they've made him feel safe and have eased his nerves. They are the reason I am giving them 3 stars. I think that's an honest review of this business. I see a lot of 1 star and I don't think that's really fair. I will probably return here, because the treatment my son received was really good, but the bad waiting area manners are what caused the less than favorable review. It's almost confusing though, because they were really helpful about getting my insurance information and payment details for one of my kids doctors. They can be very helpful, I have to admit that. So make what you will of my review, but if you're looking for decent care for your kids teeth, this is not the worst place to come and your kid probably won't hate it. read more

This place is horrid !!!! The policy of not letting parents go in the back with kids is ridiculous. For lengthy procedures okay I get but my son was having a cavity filled, laughing gas and a filling super quick. He was already super scared and anxious and I asked to go back and they said no. They took him back not even five minutes he comes out all sad and NUMBED and they said after the numbed him he wasn't complying so we have to schedule another appointment and put him to sleep for this. This dentistry is corrupt. The main male dentist is very rude, does not enjoy his job, and seems insecure about his own well being, but plays it off as an overconfident jerk. His name is Doctor Nielson. When my sons appointment was over he said that Dr. Nielson was very rough and that Dr. Nielson hurt his mouth very badly. I even heard from previous workers that two of the workers went onto Yelp and added two FAKE good reviews because the truth was coming out in their ratings. Run away from this place! 1 star is too much.. After their "lab" lost 2 space maintainers for a tooth removed from my eight-year-old, they then told me she needs braces because the tooth grew in crooked. That's now $3500 out of pocket due to THEIR negligence. My other kid has braces through Wild West Orthodontics but THE DEPARTMENTS DON'T TALK TO EACH OTHER. Dentistry is completely separate from Ortho. Even getting them to schedule us with a referral from their ortho department was fruitless. The front office just ignored the referral because she hadn't been an established patient yet, which was what we were trying to do. As of the time of this review we have been waiting an hour and a half. There's another family that's been waiting two and a half hours. No explanation has been given or apology made. The receptionist is hiding in the back because she knows the entire waiting room is frustrated and looking for answers. I usually don't leave negative reviews but from being in the Field myself I felt very disappointed in the way the office was ran. The front office ladies where so disrespectful and rude. The main office lady is constantly on her phone and when she dose put her phone away to talk to you it's with so much attitude and disrespect like she's annoyed that she has to deal with you. I'm in the dental field myself and I would never want my patients to feel not important. I know how the dental office works and I can honestly say I never want to bring my kids back due to the front office and I will never recommend this office to someone I love and care about. This place was just so unwelcoming. The lady at the front desk acts like she hates her job. But the big issue was that they have a strict policy on not allowing parents in the room while their little children get their dental procedures. Which I personally think is so wrong, and honestly kinda sketchy.. But I kindly let the doctor know I will be going somewhere that wont have me leave the room when my young daughter gets her procedure. Which he responded very rudely that no where in the valley would allow that. Yet, while I was waiting for him I had already found a place that does. And he left the room in his hissy fit. Thankfully I have already scheduled an appointment at another dental office that reassured me they wouldn't have me leave the room, as my daughter is still too young to not allow a parent. I recently made an appointment here and was very excited about taking my son here for the first time. When I originally called "trish" answered the phone sounding like she did not want to be there, and was not helpful. I tried asking for several different appointments and on the days that worked for me they were closed, which is all but one Monday in June. I kept asking for different days, and instead of her suggesting different days or times to me, she stayed quiet and let me keep suggesting days. I felt like she really could care less if I had an appointment there. In fact, she seemed annoyed with me. I finally picked a day and decided I would take the time off work. They called me today, and sadly I had to cancel that day because not only was I put off by "Trish's" attitude but the day didn't work out after all. Trish calls today to confirm the appointment and when I told her I couldn't get the day off work and I might have to find another place to go since they weren't open on the days that did work for me. She seemed to like it was no big deal like they didn't need by business. A person with customer service skills may have tried to accommodate me or reschedule-instead she said: "ok well just let us know". Perhaps they should hire someone that is happy to be employed or has some customer service skills. read more

For the past 2-3 years my children have been patients of kids dental place and they have really been wonderful. I have two biological children that are established patients and in the last year I adopted a beautiful 7yr old. She first arrived to me 2 years ago as a foster child with a number of needs. She had never been to a Dentist and the thought of it completely terrified her. The fact that she needed a large amount of treatment was a nightmare. She was in so much pain from the decay and I had no idea how we would ever complete her dental treat. She was also my first foster child and my biological children had never needed that much treatment. Kids Dental Place did a great job of helping my situation and my daughters needs. She was extremely nervous during the exam to say the least, which was why the Dentist recommended sedation. My older two had never needed any sedations and the small treatment they needed was usually done with only laughing gas. The Dentist and Assistants made sure to educate us on the procedure and really worked with my daughter. They also had a few options incase the sedation did not work. Fortunately, my daughter did great with the sedation and not had any problems since. She is still a little anxious about going to the dentist (or any Doctors office), but that is more related to her past. She did great the last time she was in and was excited she did not have any new cavities. All three of my children even had their picture taken and sent home for not having cavities. The office is small, but they have really worked around our needs. I usually never take the time to write any review good or bad. I just felt the review below was very unfortunate and completely not the experience I had. I hate writing negative reviews, it's out of character and hard to do because I hate throwing anyone under the bus. But, we spent ALOT of money on dental work for my son not even two years ago and we are now having to redo all the dental work because the fillings are chipping and needing to be replaced. The staff was really nice and helpful I will give them props on that. But some things didn't sit well, I don't love that they tie your child to the chair when being sedated. My son is great at the dentist, never a tear or any reason to be held down but I was told this was standard procedure. We switched to East Valley peds dentistry as soon as we could change our dental plan. They have been extremely kind and helpful with replacing all the fillings as they are chipping off. They don't tie your child down to the chair, not even an option. I wouldn't recommend using this office unless you are ok willing spending a lot of money on dental work that will not last. read more

Our visit was horrible. I took my 10 and 8 year old here for cleanings/exams. They have had cleanings/exams/x-rays every 6 months since they were 3 years old. Never have we left a dentist office with them crying and begging me to never take them back to "that place" again. Can you imagine a 10 year old crying? They both said their mouth was burning and my 8 year olds was bleeding and all the hygienist said was "he needs to brush his gums better". I was shocked. This is supposed to be a KIDS dental place. These are two kids with no cavities who brush twice a day. If this were the case then why haven't any of their previous exams mentioned it? I only went here because we were between insurances and I found a groupon.....well, lesson learned. We will not be returning. I feel horrible as a mother that I put my kids through this to save a few dollars. I will go back to our previous dentist and gladly pay more. read more

I was not surprised to see that the only other review for this dentist is negative. I found this office to be sterile, not kid-friendly, and incompetent. I kick myself for not trusting my instinct and leaving the office before my son was treated. We too are now spending thousands of dollars fixing the mistakes this office made including TWO abscessed teeth that need to be pulled and filling teeth THIS DENTIST chipped. I was told my child would be fully sedated for the procedure they were to do (two root canals) and they would not let me in the room. They came and got me and told me my five year old was hysterical and i had to force my way into the room to find him screaming and tied to a chair. When I asked how long he was like this they said "the entire time" but yet they proceeded to drill his teeth so I had no choice but to let them finish. This is a horrible horrible place.
