I brought my 3-year-old, 15-lb dog here for a standard spay procedure and left feeling misled,…read moreovercharged, and deeply disappointed by the clinic's lack of transparency and professionalism. We were quoted approximately $204 for the surgery, but the final bill came in at over 290 dollars. A $29 fee was added during surgery for what they claimed was a "post-heat" condition and an "enlarged uterus." However, just two days earlier, one of their own techs had confirmed she was not in heat. When confronted, the vet conveniently changed the story from "in heat" to "post-heat" On top of that, they tried to charge me for a rabies vaccine my dog had already received -- three separate times, even after I showed proof of vaccination. Only after I corrected them repeatedly did they stop trying to charge me for it I was also charged $42 for a Rimadyl/Carprofen injection, and another $12 for just 7 generic Carprofen tablets -- far above normal pricing, with no breakdown or choice given. To make matters worse, when I asked for the records to submit to my pet insurance, the front desk told me they couldn't release them due to HIPAA. This is completely false -- HIPAA does not apply to pets. When I pointed that out, they casually responded, "Oh, that's just what we call it." Finally, they had me sign a form saying they had been "thoroughly transparent in billing" -- which felt disingenuous at best, considering the shifting explanations. They also tried to tell me hills science dies was only by prescription when I told my wife we could get it on amazon. this again was from the woman behind the counter who back tracked on what she said, it felt like they wanted us to buy from them. they claimed their food was samples but they display them like an advert and then tell people you can only get it by prescription Bottom Line: This clinic may be fine if nothing unexpected happens, but if you value clear communication, fair pricing, and ethical billing, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. It felt like every opportunity was taken to upsell, overcharge, or confuse the situation, and I left with no confidence in how my dog -- or my wallet -- was treated.

New company has bought out this place and it used to be the absolute best for my breed. Recently I…read morereceived a letter from them that they were going to turn me in for no payments! I had never heard from them regarding payment when my Ebony had Dr Brown put a pin in her leg several months ago. I assumed they would send a bill. Instead out of nowhere I received a letter from the clinic that since I had never paid they were turning me over to a "hit man!" to get the money from me. They never sent me a bill!! Never! And never got a call. I've known Dr Brown and his wife for over 25 years and they even had some of my dogs. I'm so upset and have never been so threatened , as I loved the facility. Of course I will be paying the bill.

As I'm reading a lot of positive reviews, I feel like I was cheated when I went into the vet clinic…read moretoday for the very first time. Thank goodness I am not a local and do not have to depend on this vet on a regular basis. Upon first walking in, the atmosphere was nice. I was greeted and asked how I could be helped. I explained what I was there for, and that's when the issues began. I was there to drop a dog off to be boarded, which was set up days before. There were several communications between me (the foster), the dogs owner, and the vet clinic about the dog being boarded and the situation, yet when I walked in, no one seemed to understand what I was talking about. I learned that proper records were not being kept and notes in files were not being made, which is the excuse they gave. Is that the kind of care you want to entrust your beloved pet with? Not very professional. After I got the receptionists up to speed and they called someone to come take the dog, I explained she had a crate, food, food bowls, and toys that she needed. Minutes later the dog was taken away and I was dismissed. I asked "What about her stuff?" "What stuff?" Is what the receptionist snapped at me. I was amazed at her attitude. I explained the stuff, AGAIN, that I had mentioned just minutes before. She obviously hadn't been listening, not very professional at all. She then told us we could just bring it in, so my husband went out to the car and brought in the very heavy crate. At this point, another receptionist had shown up and was sitting behind the counter. I was holding the door open for him as he carried the crate in and he said "Sorry, it's a little heavy. Where would you like it?" After he said this, the other girl receptionist, which I was looking straight at, looked at him and rolled her eyes. That was very disrespectful and uncalled for, especially since we hadn't even dealt with her and all he was doing was bringing in the dog crate. I walked out of this vet clinic absolutely disgusted with the two girls at the front desk. They were rude, unprofessional, and clearly do not know what they are doing. They do not upkeep records nor make proper notes in files. I wonder what type of records they keep on veterinary care, let alone a simple boarding. I have no comment on the actual Vets who work there, nor any other employees. Just the two girls who were at the front desk at the time I walked in which was around 11:10am on 04/28/2018. I hope management can see this review and proper actions can be taken.

I am new to Grayson County, Elk Creek, VA. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and was looking for a caring…read morefacility to transfer my pets care to, as well as, needing a vet to check my pet out today. I was pleased reading about the 4 veterinarians on staff here and called about 1:00 pm to inquire about my 5 year old cat that may have a stone or just a UTI because of his behavior yesterday and getting worse today. I asked the receptionist if one of the 4 doctors could see him today to determine what problem he is having and treat him. This facility seemed like the facility I have just moved from that provided care to all of my pets for 28 years, however, I was placed on hold while the receptionist checked with the doctors (4) to see if I could bring him in. That was a very short hold and she returned to the call and told me all the doctors were in surgery today, in fact, they do all their scheduled surgeries every Monday and Friday. She said that she would have to refer me to a clinic in Christianburg, VA. As I was shocked to hear that no one could see my pet because they were all in surgery all day, I went to ask the receptionist why all 4 doctors were in surgery today and did not have a veterinarian to look at any other pet and rudely SHE HUNG UP on me. Having worked in fields myself where you first deal directly with the customer, client, patient, etc, that sets the tone for the business and how it works past that initial telephone call or first person at the desk you sign in at. It is that first person's attitude and behavior that will turn potentially long term clients away. This receptionist was rude and she certainly had zero concern for my pet and his well being or me as a potential new client. I will never recommend this facility to anyone just visiting or relocating to the area. When a call comes in to a practice or the door to a practice opens the first person you speak to, usually the receptionist, will make or break the business. This receptionist certainly would not work for me and if the doctors at this location only do scheduled surgeries on Mondays and Fridays, why are they open to have a receptionist take calls if there is nothing they can do outside of their scheduled surgeries on Mondays and Fridays? This facility should take a look at how their receptionist handles calls and their hours of operation since they are unavailable on Mondays and Fridays to see anyone outside of their scheduled surgeries.
