I could go on for hours about how awesome the trip was. Landing on the Assateague island to see the horses first hand with friends/family only, was worth every penny. Every vacation, this has become a staple of what we're going to do. If you are feeling adventurous at your own pace, this is it. They offer a few sugary and salty snacks, beer, sodas, motion sickness medicine, & sunscreen (for a fee) or you can bring your own cooler (but you can not bring your own alcohol). Lots of help for newbies and moms like me who don't want to touch the bait or fish. If you (like me) decided to bring sandwiches, be sure to bring lotsof antibacterial hand wipes. It is a fishing boat you know! Also, sunscreen & sunglasses suggested, and I gave everyone in my family a motion sickness pill before climbing aboard... if you aren't really used to going out to sea, I highly suggest this. We only saw one Assateague pony (George), but lucked up with dozens of dolphins, many of which were very close to the boat. The boat itself handled the waves we encountered very well and jostling and bouncing were kept to a minimum. All in all, a great time on the water and we felt our money was well-spent.

I parked my vehicle in the restaurant parking lot. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our boat to return from their current tour. When our boat arrived they unloaded their passengers so we could board for our tour. Our boat was packed with too many customers. We were on a high powered boat. We went out to the inlet and then turned around because the waves were too strong to go out into the Atlantic Ocean. We returned to the bay and eventually saw the wild ponies on Assateague Island. After seeing the wild ponies we returned back to the dock. The bay was littered with sand bars. Luckily our boat had a depth finder. There was one very large sand bar when we returned to our dock. Our captain knew where all the sandbars were located so he avoided them. Overall our cruise took about 1 hour. We were pleased with our cruise. More to come regarding our lunch.

The entire experience was seamless--from the easy online reservation process to check-in and the safety briefing. The staff made sure we got out on the water safely and even helped us return to the dock. We also rented fishing poles and bait, and everything was on the boat and ready when we arrived. Instead of pulling us to safety, the staff told us not to return and to stay out in the storm. When we finally came back after 30 minutes, they refused any refund, not even for unused fishing gear. Safety and compassion were completely absent. Do not risk your well being or your money with this business. Their reputation looks good on sunny days, but when conditions turned dangerous, they abandoned responsibility. Never again.

I decided to scope out their bikes for rent. Even if you're just going up and down the main drag or boardwalk, I'd recommend renting from here, rather than a place directly on the boardwalk. You'll have more flexibility at a better price. It was super easy to rent the bikes and the gentleman there got us all set up with the tire inflation, seat positioning, and locks (for securing the bikes while not in use). The price was right and while the bikes weren't anything fancy, they got the job done. I was actually pretty surprised they worked as smoothly as they did, considering the inevitable rust that accumulates on every bike chain out there. Bike rentals aren't actually this place's bread and butter. They have a large number of locations up and down Ocean City and I think the bulk of their business comes from chair and umbrella rentals. I hope they keep the bikes going though because it's convenient and a little extra revenue never hurts.
