I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I'm not going back so... I happened to be in the area and visited this location a few days ago and I was initially impressed with what I thought was a clean store and quality product. I picked a pork item to take home and try. When I got home and started to thaw it out, I noticed that the item I purchased had expired 1 1/2 months before the purchase date. This was a use by date, not a purchase by date, so it had no shelf life. I thought any establishment would be embarrassed to sell a product 1 1/2 months after the expiration date. Now here's the problem. The Glenview store is 40 minutes from me. I am much closer to the Mt. Prospect store and I was under the impression that the Wild Fork sign on both stores means that they would both back up product sold by the Wild Fork corporation. Well Mt. Prospect wouldn't help me in any way since I did not buy the item there. Don't give me the "franchise" excuse. If Wild Fork can't figure out how to stand behind their product, no matter which location, I have no reason to ever set foot in any of their stores again. read more

I've tried different seafood at this location twice to give it another chance- each time everything was old and fishy. Worst seafood quality for the price is a shame and just had to throw away to avoid getting sick. Do not go here to buy any seafood. read more

Amazing business model keeps prices down while offering incredible selection and quality. This is my new favorite meat store. They have everything you could want in meats and a selection for everything. Brisket for bbq? They have 6 different kinds. Ground beef, they have 10 different kinds. I'm figuring out my customers hamburger mix. Plus they have pork, veal, elk, buffalo, ostrich, and more. The seafood is similarly vast. The service is great. They are knowledgeable and super helpful, often cooking and feeding you while you are there. Not your average butcher. Definitely worth a try. read more

I am a big fan. I got ginger salmon and teriyaki salon and both were great. They do carry wild caught salmon as well as farmed salon so you must read the packaging. Also enjoyed the peri-peri chicken. The salon and the chicken were already marinated and had a lot of flavor. I just added a side and dinner was easy to make. The fish and chicken is blast frozen to preserve the freshness as an alternative to buying everything fresh at the market. I also have frozen quail and other game meats. read more

Wildfork has become our sole go-to for meats, poulty and whole host of foods. You can find just about anything you can imagine in this place. The best thing, though, is the service and manager, Roseanne Grippo, who is a professional chef. She makes wonderful foods to sample in the store, which brings us in every weekend. We have tried several kinds of salmon and really enjoyed them. They carry the frozen chicken line, Just Bare, which is fabulous in the air fryer, very tasty and a good value, especially for families. We tried the mini key lime pies, they were good but we really liked the frozen macarons! We have tried the ground beef and found it super flavorful. All the employees have been helpful without being intrusive. I'm a bit worried as it always seems to be empty. I hope people will give it a try! read more

Service is lousy!! I went several days ago for the first time at this location. I walked over to a stocky lady with glasses and she seemed annoyed to be working there. She was rude!! I started asking her about the products and she didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about the products at all. She had to ask her coworkers! I then asked her how much the grinds were and with a nasty attitude she told me"The prices are right there!" Then after a few minutes she walked to the back of the store as if she was avoiding to help me any further.I'm not coming back to this store!! The experience she gave me was lousy, I'm going to venture off to other locations. If she talks to customers that way, she should consider a different line of work!! read more

I had never heard of this place, and I was just driving by when I saw it, so I stopped to check it out. Nice place, very clean store containing strictly frozen foods including lamb, beef and seafoods. I browsed but only bought several insulated bags and thank goodness that I did. My refrigerator just broke down and those insulated bags are saving my food from spoiling. Next time that I'm in the area, I will grab some frozen crab legs as well as more insulated bags. read more

They finally opened here, just days ago on Wednesday March 01, and it's a typical open, airy, and well-organized Wild Fork on the interior.  There are a couple of distinctions on the exterior though.  One is that there is plenty of parking as they are in the same large corner strip mall as the Trader Joe's.  The other is that they have a small patio on their west side, facing Waukegan Road, and in the warmer months will be doing some outside grilling (partnering with Weber Grill) and providing free food samples, yaay.  The patio is there because their space used to be occupied by a Boston Market and an Einstein Bagels.  I learned of the patio use plans from the friendly staffer on duty today, Joe Wendy.  He used to own Wendy's he said (JK).  JK on the fact, but not just kidding that he used to like joking about it lol.  For what it's worth, this looks like the best location setup (ie, visibility, parking, and availability of a small patio) of all the Wild Forks I've seen to date. read more

Absolutely THE best quality Mets chicken and fish I have ever had in my life! NOW I get it. I didn't underage how frozen food could be better then "fresh" but actually when you flash freeze it immediately (as opposed to sitting in a grocery meat counter for a few days) it actually is fresher and taste better! Who knew! The chicken tenders are out of this world, the burgers are gourmet 5 star and everything else. HIGHLY recommend this place. I will never ever buy my meat and poultry at another grocery store again. I pray these folks stay in business. What a great concept. read more

I had never been to a Wild Fork before and was curious to see what it was all about. My first visit to the store was a positive experience. The store was clean (brand new location), nicely laid out, and the employees were helpful and eager to please. The prices were "ok," but nothing special. Nearly everything in the store is frozen, which is an interesting concept. I generally do not buy frozen meat, but we decided to try a few things. Specifically, we were going to make chicken noodle soup. We bought a bag of frozen chicken strips, two bags of frozen carrots, and a 12-pack of parsley. The soup was awful. First, after making it, we had to strain the entire thing because the chicken "flakes" made a mess up the soup. But it was terrible after putting it back together, making new broth, and re-adding the new parsley back in. The chicken was very tough and tasted so bland, even though it was sitting in a soup that had been seasoned. It was awful, and we tossed the entire thing in the garbage. Since I signed up for their mailing list, Wild Fork sent me a survey link. I left them similar feedback and requested that someone contact me about the experience, and I am still waiting for someone to do so. Quite shocking that they prompt customers in the survey about receiving contact from customer service about the experience and then ignore the request. I left this feedback over five weeks ago now. Ultimately, we wasted $26.70 worth of food and will not be back. read more

With all the inflation that is a daily reality-- this place gives you a huge variety-- great quality-- and I am very fussy-- and the real advantage here is-- that you can use just what you want that night-- and leave the rest in the freezer. My favorite is the seafood-- which is so hard to find at a reasonable price point. The scallops are DIVINE! The real test of freshness is when they have a slight sweetness to the flavor. Just put in a ziploc bag-- place in cold water-- and before you finish your salad-- they are ready to cook-- which never takes long-- like 3 minutes-- longer-- they will be shoe leather. Their jumbo pink shrimp from Florida are a favorite go to. From a cocktail to salads, to tempura for the old fashioned fish fry-- they are delicious. So is the flounder. Want some nice dessert fir that romantic dinner? Try the individual cheesecakes or the French donuts filled with chocolate and hazelnut ganache. Don't forget the key lime pie. At first I was a bit skeptical about a store where everything is frozen. Now I am saving money with no waste, and having some very nice dinners.
