Most of these pieces are American made, all are handcrafted and one-of-a-kind. Some will have been lovingly restored by proprietor Damien - who also crafts new pieces and can do so to your specifications! We recently bought a house in the area and are slowly making it our very own. I'm in need of a short shelf/hook rack, which might easily be obtained as a cheap piece of crap from Walmart mass-produced in communist China - or I'll pay a few dollars more and have one handmade right here in Ohio. Take a guess which I've decided on. In addition to wood crafts, proprietress Shannon makes personalized T shirts, coffee mugs and koozies with a great selection of designs to choose from. Still don't see something that grabs you? No worries, bring your own design and she'll make it happen. They say you can't always get what you want but that doesn't seem to apply here! Something here for everyone and great gift ideas too. Any unscheduled closing (doesn't happen often) is posted on their facebook page, so if you're making a special trip might want to check that first- or call. I love supporting a local business and a woman owned business. She has different vendor events throughout the year supporting other local business people who come and set up inside of her shop. This gives you a really unique way to get one of a kind clothing and jewelry, but not everyone else will have. Plenty of home decor, and the owner also makes unique floral designs and wreaths as well. Brookville is an entire experience. Quaint little downtown where you can walk and get a coffee, go to a restaurant and then just enjoy the charm of window shopping in a clean safe little town that feels like you just rewound 20 or 30 years. Make sure on your trip to drive over to the Brookville Dam area and take a walk on the causeway. This is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday.

National Road Antique Mall is one of 17 antique shops in the town. The mall is filled with two stories of antique booths that carry primitive antiques and vintage Americana. Many booths were offering sale prices. I was greeted when I walked in by friendly staff. The mall is clean with mostly wide aisles. There is a restroom centrally located on the first floor. There as plenty of free street parking today, but probably at a premium when summer rolls around.

On 5/25, after contacting them several times and being told they had no idea where in the process our order was, we contacted Bassett directly and were told 1) our order was not even placed until 3/30 and 2) our order was not even in production yet. We were assured by Shauna at that time that if we did not cancel the order with them that we would have it in June. On 6/28, my husband went to the store and was told, again by Shauna, that they did not have the order but they could surely have it in July. Also, that they are moving, which was evident by the appearance of the showroom, but couldn't give out a forwarding address yet. He asked then that the order be cancelled and we be given a full refund. We will see if this company has any integrity, and returns our money after this debacle.
