When she picked it up, the mechanism was still stuck and the technician (also part owner of the shop) told her that "it happens on those machines" and she would just have to "wiggle it until it comes free". I don't know if he's lazy, dumb, or both, but the service manual tells how to fix this. A few taps with a hammer and the addition of some oil got everything working. Every other Bernina shop my mom has brought this machine to has returned it to her in good-as-new condition. Fashion Fabrics is, IMO, the worst place to take a Bernina. Sew Suite in Summerville is worth the drive.

I did mine three years ago with the help of a friend & I swore never again. I may have to back track on that decision.
