I was under the impression that all of the facia boards would get replaced when they had signs of rot. Only one of them got replaced and even though it needed to be replaced, it didn't look like it was the worst one. That seems like it was an issue with the contract not being clear. All of this to preface that the roof we had was great and I regret buying a new one. We got a roof that looks newer, and may seem prettier - if you like looking at white painted foam roofs. I was hoping the new roof would save A/C money, but our electric bill is about the same. The one thing the old roof had was that it was much quieter in rain. I know it doesn't rain much in Tucson, but when it does, now it feels like we live inside a snare drum. So, I wish we'd gotten more advice before deciding and I wish the sales guy had been more clear about the status of our old roof and the changes we were considering.

Update first day of two: Jesse has the two new water scupper devices installed. The first seals are setting up. His practiced eye found two areas where the flat roof emulsion was lifted up, a little. A little is all it takes for rain water to seep down. We have to accept it might not be a single solution. But I am confident in his skills and knowledge. From the ground , the work looks sharp. Last step will be prime and paint the correct color. Which I have in reserve for small things. On to tomorrow....

When I called to schedule an estimate, the office told me they were booking full roofs (what we needed) six months out! After looking at the ROC, etc. for other roofers, we decided to wait for SARA. Dan came to our house, inspected, and gave us a complete explanation of what we did and did not need. He provided two sets of estimates based on options we requested. Both were reasonable for the value offered. We made our down payment and, after the next monsoon rain, a small leak appeared in the tile area of our roof. Since our scheduled work was still a few weeks away, Dan had a team member come out and patch it up. Work started at the scheduled time, and the team was efficient and clean. The only issue was a delay in skylight delivery from the manufacturer. SARA came out a day after the skylights were received to install them. The roofing materials are quality and look great, and the new skylights are tons better than the original 1980s versions. We are glad we chose Southern Arizona Roof Associates.
