What a hit!!! First, Shane called me within 3 minutes of submitting my request online. Then, he…read morewas so excited about his Game Truck, it was hard not to want to schedule for the next day! And, he was right! The kids ran out to the truck screaming, "The truck is here!!!" so loud the neighbors came out of their houses to see what was happening...and then ended up inside the truck going, "WOW!!!!" Definitely recommend and will definitely use again. Planning on his suggestion of using for the kids during a football party!!! Amazing, quality, trustworthy, WORTH IT! Ended up keeping the truck another hour than originally planned. Fantastic idea.

He told me nothing was scheduled after us so we could go as long as we wanted. So I thought we were all set. Well truck arrives on time but then there is parking and setting it up so that takes 15min or less. We play for 1.5hr and then he told me we needed to start rapping things up. Excuse me I thought we had the truck for as long as we wanted it? Nope he booked another job but would give me an extra 15 min, but with set up that washed out to be 2hr, so no real gain. I expected and was told we had it as long as we wanted. We probably would have played for 4 hr. The game selection was ok mostly teen or older so if you are looking at doing this for a birthday party ask your kids what games they want to play. Also if they have a game it can only be played on 1 tv, just keep that in mind for kids parties. Next the guy that operated the truck did not know how to get all of us playing on the games, if it was not for a few of our tech guys who know xbox well we may have been out of luck. As the driver had little experience with getting you going on some of the games. Overall we had fun, but were extremely disappointed with the service and booking problems. With several other choices in San Diego we will be going with someone else in the future.

I come here once a month or so. My wife and I love it (although one time she didn't get as much…read moreselling them books as she wanted, but that's not the point of this review). Today I had a rather complex purchase/exchange I needed done, and Angel couldn't have been more helpful. He was very professional in how he handled everything. It's the type of thing us regular customers like to see. That way to run a business is perfect. This is easily my favorite place to get used books, CDs, and DVDs.

They also have a large selection of Japanese manga too which I've not seen at other stores and was cool to see! We browsed their games and Pokemon cards as well. They had a lot of consoles and handhelds. They had a lot of dvds and blueray. Their regular book selection was extensive though I didn't look too much as it wasn't why I was there and my husband and kids were wanting to go get dinner. Overall while it was a very cool place, I feel like the pricing left a lot to be desired. Most of the manga I came across that I was interested in were priced very close to or at MSRP and the figures were disappointing bc every single one that I recognized and happened to know the going price on was significantly higher than it should be -- even super used ones that had no box were priced higher than you could get them for brand new! So even though I wanted to take the time to dig through the chaos and find a gem it made me hesitant bc i figured that even if I did find something I wanted, the odds were likely that it would be marked well over its value

Incredibly rude…read more Wouldn't even allow us inside and only had a small selection of sodas, no option to come browse the comics- not that i wanted to after seeing how gross it was inside.

You don't just go in a coffee shop and only use their internet without buying a coffee. And it felt safer since the store is crammed with awesome stuff, there were less people to breath with (and there was lots of hand sanitizer) I got the mood enhancer CBD non-alcoholic beer and it was delicious! You get a cbd gummy and then you chase it with your drink, so it's a lot fruitier. I don't even like beer but that is reason alone to come back! Anyway the store was like a blast from the past, it had some arcade machines and lots of random cool stuff. They had a very nice manga section and used science fiction/fantasy novels. There were a ton of comics and they were organized alphabetically. The owner was actually super gracious and helpful (I guess as long as you aren't an entitled asshole you won't be treated like one) Parking was a pain but what can you expect since it is on the main drag but I would definitely come back.

5/5 Stars - 10/10 Experience…read more I want to take a moment to recognize someone who truly represents what brick-and-mortar retail is supposed to be about. Back in January 2026, I walked into the GameStop in Escondido with a broken Xbox One. I had already visited local repair shops and was quoted a few hundred dollars to fix it. At that point, I started thinking it might make more sense to explore refurbished options instead of sinking that kind of money into an older console. That's when I met Jeff. From the moment I walked in, Jeff was professional, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable. I had been out of the gaming world for about six years, so I wasn't even sure what questions I should be asking. Jeff walked me through everything. He explained the differences between my standard Xbox One and the Xbox One X Scorpio Edition in a way that was clear, detailed, and easy to understand. Because of his guidance, I confidently chose the Scorpio Edition--and after playing it, the performance difference was night and day. Right before we finalized the purchase, I asked him one more question: "Will Grand Theft Auto 6 work on this system?" He was honest. He said no--and explained I would need the newer Xbox Series X for that level of compatibility. He checked inventory and told me he had two in stock, including one brand new unit. For about $100 more, I could experience opening a brand-new, top-tier console. We completed the transaction, and we actually opened the sealed Xbox Series X together. That moment meant more than I expected. It was a genuine, memorable retail experience. Jeff didn't just sell me a product--he made the experience special. We talked gaming, technology, and the direction of the industry. I walked out sharper and more informed than when I walked in. Shortly after, I learned the Escondido location was closing. I assumed I'd never see Jeff again. Fast forward one month--I walked into the Carmel Mountain GameStop to pick up some Nintendo Switch games and a classic Atari 300-game console. And there he was. Jeff. My face lit up immediately. Knowing that someone with that level of expertise and integrity was there made me feel confident about every purchase I was making. I've owned multiple businesses myself, and I can confidently say Jeff is the exact type of employee every company should fight to keep. He goes above and beyond. He's bright, honest, passionate, and truly cares about helping customers make the right decisions--not just making a sale. Yes, technically you can research gaming information online. But Jeff saved me hours of digging through forums and conflicting opinions. More importantly, he helped me ask the right questions--something you can't always get from Google. Over the last couple of months, I've spent a few thousand dollars in GameStop stores. The reason I continue to walk into physical locations instead of buying online is because of employees like Jeff. GameStop corporate leadership--if you're reading this--you have something rare here. In a world that's going increasingly digital, people like Jeff are what make physical stores valuable. Protect and retain talent like this. Jeff, thank you for the time, the knowledge, and the experience. Every time I visit the Carmel Mountain location, you'll be the first person I look for. 10/10 experience. 5 out of 5 stars.
