This is place has been here for years and when I need a wig for Halloween, I knew where to go! I remember being 9yrs old and passing this wig store and its nice to see after 31yrs later, its still here (you can do the math, lol!) So, I need a wig for a costume and the lady that was working when I went was very nice and explained everything to me. I knew exactly what I needed so it was a matter of choosing the cheapest one since its for just one night. She showed me how to put it on and clip it, brush it and even care for it. I have medium brown set, ombré blonde set, now this new set . they are very silky in texture , easily curls or straightened you can dye them if you need to . it comes with 7 pieces and you can over lay the clip ons if you need to . i have a small cerebral circumference and thin hair abs these blend right in. DO NOT SHOP HERE! They are overpriced because they're across the street from the Grove. I purchased what was supposed to be a human/synthetic hair blend for $109 and it's not only completely synthetic, but it is incredibly poorly made. I will be filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau because the woman who helped me (June) said that she was giving me the original wig with the original box and this is a totally different wig and the box is a different brand than the label tag said. I have tracks coming off of this wig and I have yet to wear it. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! They purchase regular, cheap synthetic wigs and Mark them up because of the location. You can easily pay $50 bucks leas id you go down Pick toward Mid City. She convinced me I was buying high quality because it looks nice on the shelf and they don't allow you to touch the wigs. She had plenty of human hair wigs too but with my budget I got an extremely high quality synthetic and am so happy. I am a regular and expert wearer of wigs. I buy wigs online and at a couple of other shops in town. I have worn wigs for YEARS and have an almost unseemly collection. Saturday night I had big plans later and when we went to grab dinner my partner and I spotted Wigs Today right next to Whole Foods ... what's this? A wig shop I've never been to?! Sign me up. His wallet was already crying, he knows how much I love me some fake hair! It's difficult to describe the scenario. The moment we walked in was like traveling back to the early 90s complete with the selection of wigs and hairpieces. The only merchandise which seemed current was in the window so I asked the salesperson if I could see some pieces and she told me to "wait a moment" while she followed another shopper around like a vigilant hawk. Mind you, on nearly every shelf and surface there are signs saying "don't touch", "if you want to see something ask for help" and "no photos" and the person in question didn't appear to be trying to break the rules. What he did appear to be doing was SWB - Shopping while black. My partner and I were the only customers a moment before and it was only when he arrived she diverted her attention to 'protecting' the merchandise. He heard her - and her implied message and hurried out of the shop. Too bad, my retail experience told me he was looking for a hot wig to wear THAT NIGHT! Maybe a last minute drag performance? He had a creative performer vibe all over him. Sale walking out of the door lady but, go ahead, try to sell something to the nice white lady instead. Despite the fact that now there were 5 other customers in the shop the salesperson somehow was able to serve me. She took some pieces out of the window and I tried them on but, to be honest, my enthusiasm for spending money in the place walked out the door with the other potential customer. I wish I had said something more direct to her. It was that blatant. Racial profiling aside, the merchandise is mostly old stock. The salesperson insisted there is "no such thing" as a fantasy colour lace front (Hollywood Wigs, Hollywood Toy & Costume and hundreds of eBay sellers have them) and didn't seem very informed on current trends. I'll keep my wig shopping to places which treat customers equally and keep their selection current. If you are looking for a natural colour wig I recommend Nigel's Beauty Emporium in North Hollywood. Totally worth the drive. For fantasy wigs I recommend Hollywood Wigs, Hollywood Toys and Costumes and Amazon or eBay. read more

This place ripoff the people,I do not recommend buying hair extensions or wigs here for these reasons; 1.They are super overpriced and the quality is very low. 2. You can find the same product online or at other stores 3 times less than their price . 3. Great selection and high quality! Much better than what you find at most synthetic wig shops or Halloween stores. They have lower quality ones like in those shops, but most of them are a little nicer and thus cost a bit more (closer to $75 or $90 than $45). The customer service is amazing. They are so sweet, adorable, and helpful! I brought in a picture of Betty Paige. I wanted to find a wig that would match her hair (hard to find especially because of the very thick bangs). Google her if you don't know who she is, and you'll see what I mean. They had one that was perfect for me to work with! The bangs were really thick which is so difficult to find on a wig, and the color was perfect. I went home to cut the bangs shorter and more curved (like Betty), and it turned out great. I also asked them how to "set" the hair with more waves like in the 50's (since the wig came straight). The owner told me how to get the exact look I wanted without burning the wig. She also sat me down and showed me how to put it on so that there weren't any bumps since I have a ton of hair to fit under that thing. They have a little seating section with mirrors just like a salon so that you can watch them put it on you and see the wigs from all angles. At the end of the day, the wig was quintessential Betty Paige and looked natural. They genuinely care about quality and satisfaction. I love this place! read more

Great wigs , but every time I've been in there the ladies are rude to me and give me a bad vibe.

Extremely disappointed. The lady had a bad attitude while helping me, at one point practically ripping the wig right off my head because I said I wanted one with a lace front. I was interested in a gorgeous ash blonde ombré wig that looked amazing on me but was a premade part with very little lace. I would have bought it if the price was right (I'm thinking less than $50). This woman had the audacity to quote me $175. FOR A SYNTHETIC NON LACE WIG?!?!?!?! Why I sat there a moment longer I have no idea. And to add insult to injury, she charged me $5.44 for her cheap useless wig cap. NEVER AGAIN WILL I STEP FOOT IN THAT BUILDING. read more

Went in because I will be going through chemo soon and this store is located walking distance from where I live. Joanne helped me right away and made what I thought was going to be a traumatic experience very fun. She was friendly, informative and patient, letting me try on as many wigs as I wanted and taking me to the door every time so I could see the look in natural light. They have a good selection - you can pay $100 or $2000. I only tried on synthetic wigs; can't comment on human hair wigs. I found one I liked and wore it out of the store. They have a lot of experience with cancer patients and immediately wrote out a special receipt for my insurance company. Also, they trim the wig in store for free. After going to a couple of other wig stores in LA with lousy service, I was so impressed by the customer service here that I had to ask the names of the lovely women who helped me: June & Joanne! What a breath of fresh air they are. All the other places had limits to how many wigs you could try on (Naimies in the valley only allowed 1). June & Joanne are bubbly and excited about their work and kept trying wigs on me until I was happy and they were happy too. I am going to a party tonight and was starting to panic as everyone has to wear a wig. This store was professional, inexpensive and they made the experience fun. Far superior to any of the places on Hollywood Boulevard and the sourpuss attitude I experienced elsewhere. I highly recommend this for special occasion wigs as well as regular wigs. read more

Mom had to buzz down her hair this weekend for the first time and we freaked out a bit saturday night since pretty much all wig stores are closed on Sundays. I found this place on yelp and thankfully it was open. We made the trip from glendale with our fingers crossed. Thankfully we found a couple. June helped us and was very patient with my picky and overwhelming mother. She was going to give us an extra cap but she didn't however so that was a bummer. But she was very helpful and listened to want my mother wanted and we left with a new head of hair for her that she felt happy with. Prices very but a little steep i think. Was looking for a wig store in the korea-town area and came across this shop unexpectedly while making a stop at Wholefoods. I was impressed with their selection. They have so much more than the average beauty supply store or the Wig shop on Hollywood. A nice selection for men's too. As soon as I stepped in, I was greeted and asked if I needed help finding anything specific. Browsed for about 10 min. There are 2 salon style seats with a wall mirror in the back. I happen to have a wig cap on me and used it to sample the wigs. She sat me on the seat and helped with the fitting. I don't think you can find cheap wigs here. The one I was looking at was about $250. It was hand-made. Had hairline that blended with yours so it didn't look like a wig. The two-tone and the highlight variation looked decent. It doesn't look cheap. I'd have to come by again when I'm ready to invest that much on a wig when I get a gig or something... read more

They don't allow you to take photos....does not make sense. I paid $5.00 for a hair net just to find this out after the fact. I would suggest that you put that sign on the front door so that everyone is aware of this ridiculous rule. On top of that, all cc payments under $10.00 are charged a 3% fee...didn't see that sign. I have to warn you to stay away from this shop. The lady working totally ripped me off. I came in looking for wigs for a FUNDRAISER to raise money for AIDS. I was not having luck around town and this was my last stop. I made the mistake of telling her that I had been everywhere else. She said she couldn't help me either then as I was leaving she magically had the two I needed. She charged me $250 each! I don't know much about wigs so I went with it. As I was leaving she said no returns, no exchanges. Now I know why. I took it to a wig stylist and she said I got ripped off. The wigs should have retailed at $89 and she told me they could not be styled because they were so thin that I had to buy two more. It's a shame that thieves like this are aloud to take advantage. It's my fault for showing my cards and not asking where the price tags were. Shame on you for taking advantage of me and taking away from a charity. STAY AWAY from this shop!! I had the pleasure of meeting and being helped by June today. She was very pleasant, kind and quite knowledge about her stock. I was able to get 2 very nice wigs (1 from the lower price range and 1 from the moderate price range). Both great. June helped me to avoid getting one style that would not have suited me and to quickly find the right cut/color to best frame my face. I asked to purchase a wig cap to try on wigs (this is a standard requirement for hygiene and state law in all the shops I've been to) and it was given to me complimentary probably because I made a nice purchase. They have a great selection and you aren't rushed like they sometimes can in the shops on Wilshire blvd. The stock includes synthetic, human and lace front wigs.
