After doing a Yelp search of Wig Shops in LA, I recommended Lili Wigs to my wife. My first excursion into one of these establishments but she had been disappointed with the offerings in the Santa Clarita area, even black owned, that also tend to cater more to their Caucasian clientele. That's where the money is out here. Parking is in the back, which can get rather seedy. And apparently why they keep both doors locked, even the Crenshaw entrance. But the customer service you get, especially from Jasmine is first rate. There is a large selection of both human and synthetic hair, and she chose one of each with a bit of help from me. We left after spending a reasonable $330+ with tax. The human hair chosen running around $250.00 of that, but probably worth considerably more. Jasmine will hook you up! And yes, the hour or so that we spent there, kind of gave me the feeling of several hundred heads watching my every move. read more

Good array of wigs, terrible customer service. The shop was empty except for us and we could not get Lili to help us to save our lives. Asked for suggestions. Nothing. Asked if wigs came in other colors. Nothing. Not even allowed to try on any of the wigs -- and no returns. So you might spend upwards of $200 on something you end up hating. Also she kept telling us wigs we liked were expensive, as though we couldn't afford them, without even asking our budget. She ended up yelling at us -- really yelling -- for taking a ponytail out of a wig so we could see the part when we couldn't get her attention. She chased us out, literally. That's ok. Lili is so sweet, helpful, and knowlegeable. She used to be the main designer for Dena Cali wigs and now she designs for her own wig line, so she really knows her stuff! If I like a wig but it's too long, or the bangs are too full, etc, once I buy it... she will cut it exactly how I want it on the spot. She is the bomb! (She is usually only there on Saturdays and Sundays, though, so call ahead to confirm that she will be there because no one else there has her knowledge or skill to customize the wig for you). She has a very large selection of wigs in all various lengths, colors, and styles (human and synthetic). She also has wigs for every budget (most of the synthetic I get are $35 to $45) Also, as long as I bring or purchase a never -before- used wig cap, she lets me try on as many wigs as I want!!! (no 3 wig limit like some places). I have literally been in there for over an hour before, trying on at least 15 wigs.. lol. Some people have said she follows them around, but I have been a customer for over 10 years and she follows me around, too-lol. She just likes to be very attentive and be right there in case anyone has a question, wants a different color, etc. Also, I love the fact that she is always honest with me. None of that, "That looks great on you" for every single wig I try on. She has told me before, "That's not right for you" (but not in a rude way! lol).  It is located directly across the street from Walmart on Crenshaw Blvd. The street parking has been removed due to subway construction BUT she has a small PARKING LOT located behind her shop. Okay, I really rate this 4.5 that's because what I went in looking for they did not have. BUT, Lili, the owner suggested I try something with a bang and that it might actually suit me. Although I made the selection, she put the wig on me and was SOOO nice the whole time towards me and helpful. Just to give an idea, the was only me and another customer and i arrived early afternoon. I read other reviews stating that she follows you and is mean, no shes aware in her business and I also get the vibe that she's trying to show you her willingness to help. So she checks on you, that's just the vibe I got. 'Cause personally be a female i love another females honest opinion on whatever im wearing (makeup, clothes, hair). This review is long overdue. A friend and I took a trip down to LA last month to go to the Museum of Ice Cream and I had no clue how I wanted to do my hair. I figured... maybe I'll just get a wig to make it easy and quick. I googled wig shops and Lili's popped up. Let me tell you... from the entrance until the time I left Lili was AMAZING! She helped me pick out and put on every wig until I was more than satisfied with my purchase. She was also very patient because it took me about a good 40 minutes to decide on which wig would look best on me. Lili's wigs are great quality and she has a huge variety to choose from. Not too bad.I bought a wig last week because I had a family emergency here in Louisiana and I needed something to cover my hair temporarily.I looked all up and down on Crenshaw and even went in a few but didn't get good results.They were either too expensive or half hair supply store/half wig stores.What I liked about them is that its a complete wig store and nothing else. The girl working in the store greeted me right away and let me try on several wigs to compare the differences.The artificial wigs looked just as good as the human hair wigs and about $50 cheaper so I decided to get a fake one.I paid $40 for a short bob wig and it seemed to do the job of making me look more put together without trying too hard. After reading one of the reviews from the one lady about the quality of the human hair. I don't think I could ever buy a human hair wig from any retailer.I was told by the lady in the store that the" real hair wigs" were 80% real and 20% artificial.Who comes up with these numbers?Fake is still fake even if its 1%.I guess if you're not a human hair expert then you'll have to take their word for it.I say go with the artificial unless you're using it to sew onto your head in a weave style.Anyone can tell you the difference between those...Like right away! read more

I have not been to Lili Wigs since the Rodney King episode, but even back in the day, Lili was my girl and still is. I've thought of her often. She really is a sweetheart and has always known her stuff. I live far from her location now, but I've never found another store like hers and it's grown over time. I came here due to a friend raving about Lili's wigs., and while there a great variety of wigs at decent prices, the disrespectful customer service from the owner Lili makes me give it one star. She actually deserves half a star. I park in the back for the free parking, and walk around to the front to enter, where she meets me at the door and yells at me, mistaking me for a random person on the street who took advantage of her parking. I explained I was there to visit her store and then she turned polite. I walked around, looking at wigs to try on, and she's practically following me around the store. Seriously?!? Your store is in the hood, lady. Are you REALLY going to act like I'm stealing something?!?!? One of her regulars came in, and boy, the difference in customer service was remarkable! If she knows you, she treats you with respect. If not, she's rude as hell. After being criticized for having too much hair on my head, she reluctantly throws me a wig cap. Okay, breathe deep, don't cuss her out, just try on wigs. I start trying some on, and I take photos, explaining that I have to show my people what each style looks like on me. Hey, other folks on Yelp have said she has no problem with people taking photos, but guess what?!? Suddenly, I'm told that I'm not allowed to take photos. I counter by quoting what I read on Yelp, and asked if this was a new policy, to which she replied "yea, new policy." I continued to shoot a few extra, after she stopped standing over me like a damn hawk. I take customer service SERIOUSLY. And I don't give a damn if you've been in our community for 40+ years, you better give everyone who walks thru your door respect.
