The owner / salesperson 'decided' for me that I didn't need a wig! Spent the entire time in his store trying to talk me "out of a sale" bc I had thick hair, it was fine, most ppl who come in have very little hair etc "! WHAT!? Talking me out of a sale using embarasment and humiliation, which is how I felt! "What are you looking for" he asked, "oh we don't have that", your head is too large and you have a lot of hair!?!? Brian is so kind and incredibly knowledgeable. I don't suffer from hair loss, but for women who do - there are private booths for try-ons and Brian is gentle and honest. He's a one-man show, so if there are other customers in his shop when you arrive, there may be a bit of a wait, but it's worth it. While visiting Portland, I took my wife here to shop for a replacement wig. Being from out of town, the phone gps gave us a hard time finding, but once we arrived, we knew immediately we came to the perfect place for what we were looking for. The store had a very good selection of high quality wigs and we were the only customers so that meant we had the owners full attention. The help was indeed helpful and very patient. My wife tried on many wigs, some more than one time, and all the time we were being helped and advised. We settled on three wigs and with all the helpful assistance we got, it was worth spending the little extra. Now my wife is a happy lady, and looking very nice with her new purchases. This might surprise you, but my profile picture is of me in a wig. Recently I attended a Yelp Elite event in a wig. For my friend's bachelorette party, six of us hit the town in wigs. It's safe to say, I am a big fan of wigs. Wigland has a huge variety of fun wigs in every color, length and style. For my friend's bachelorette, I bought a pink one, an electric blue one, a fire red one, a black one and purple with blonde (my favorite). They were all fantastic. My friends and I had a blast trying on all the wigs, taking pictures, coming up with new personas and then hitting the town looking like Charlie's new Angels. I can't think of any other place in town that has the selection and variety that Wigland does. I do love me some choices. The wigs are a bit pricey because they're good quality so they're not intended for those wishing to don a wig one night and then tossing it when finished. Though I currently own three wigs, I'm already jonesing to return to Wigland for my next alter ego. Maybe it's time I had yellow hair. Or perhaps green hair. Or orange hair. The heartache of increasingly thin hair, bald spots, and the constant stress about leaving the house with hair that is basically unstylable is the reality of many, including me. I look at wig stores all the time...most of them have overprocessed hair, coarse hair or hair that is not going to work for someone with baby fine blondish hair. I walked into Wigland and immediately knew that I was going to find something really wonderful. I could tell right away that Brian, the owner, had trimmed some of the display wigs in ways that made them much more realistic. He is patient, kind, and very knowledgeable about what is out there, and the best things to try. I left a few wigs there for him to thin and style, and I got them back looking perfect. I Walked into Wigland ( still in shock) after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Brian was amazing! He spent several hours with me, and never once made me feel rushed! I remember this place being far more awesome than it is now. It's the first place I ever went for hair extensions to make into a hair bun for ballet [we were all required to wear hair buns but alas my hair was to short] back when I was 11 or so. But I was young...and times change. They do still have a wide selection of synthetic wigs in all sorts of styles and colors. Not as hip as a young woman like myself would want, but there were a couple of cute styles. Prices were fairly affordable and the staff was mostly helpful, but not very attentive [I don't think the usual owner was in]. The owner I remember from a semi-recent visit was super helpful and even assisted newcomers with putting the wigs on. However, I was looking for a human hair wig and their selection was incredibly small--but I had the same problem at Mid-K, so maybe it isn't uncommon to stock those. read more

I had been wanting to come to this store for a while. I'm really into wigs and playing dress up/ getting costumed up! Most of the wigs were really reasonably priced. I found a lot of them were only around $30 for decent quality wigs! I've tried a bunch on and sadly I haven't found any that I couldn't live with out, but I will definitely try again and recommend this place to others! What I did find was some really great lashes in colors and amazing feathers! The only room I see for improvement here is maybe some more "funky" wigs. Awesome place. Period. I came here twice (Halloween & NYE) at the 11th hour to find a wig for events I was going to. I don't know what the name of the man was who helped me on both occasions, but he was amazing. Each time I came in I had a completely different idea from what I ended up buying. He brought me exactly what I was looking for and then said, "Why don't you try this instead?" And he was RIGHT on. These people know what they're doing and the selection is incredible. While I was there someone was also there looking for a wig for hair loss. The employees were discrete and kind and very helpful. They even have private dressing rooms to try things on. Wonderful service. The gentleman who seems to always be there is wonderful. If you are not sure what style you want or will look good in he will make some suggestions. I had been wearing the same style for 4 years before going here. He made a suggestion for a new style and it looks so much better. He cut and styled it while I waited. I liked it so much I went back two weeks later to get another just like it for a back up. I have ordered on line in the past thinking I was saving money, but his prices are very reasonable.
