Uhmmm AMAZING. I originally booked an extension appointment, but due to unforseen circumstances, had to shift that to a color only appointment and hold off on the extensions. While I did mention that to booker, on the day of, Amie didn't know, but was a true pro on the day of, jumped on in, gave me the color I was looking for (which is a HARD color to do and I am PICKY AF -- "not too white, not too yellow, not too ash - somewhere in between - and Amie nailed it), and hung in there until she got it right. She also fixed a bad hair cut I had received prior, blending my bad cut AND prepping my hair for when I CAN come back to get extensions. She did not make short cuts, listened very well about what I wanted, got on the same page super quick, did not cut corners -- she did not let me leave until she was happy with the end result and so was I. It's an amazing space, and Kim and Amie are lovely and very sweet. Getting intensive color or extensions done is a long process (lol I wore my pajamas to be comfy because I know it takes time), and everybody is friendly, make you comfortable, and there is an adorable little four legged guy who says hi while you process. Pros: the hair extensions looked really good. Cons: -Not covid compliant: I had to ask the staff and patrons to wear masks, they said "lots of doctors and nurses told them it didn't matter". They didn't wipe down chairs or surfaces between customers. -Unprofessional conduct: My stylist said she was "tired of feeling like the bad guy all the time just because she was white" which made me really uncomfortable. She also told a story about clients that tried to get her to have a three way. -Stylist insisted that the extensions can be left in for 3-6 months, but the beads were ironed onto my hair, caused irreparable matting and I had to pay someone to forcibly cut out of my hair. I have had extensions before but had never seen this kind of ironed/bead system, nor have I ever heard anyone recommend keeping them in past 12 weeks. - On top of the $1100 these cost (not including tip) I had to pay experts to try to salvage my hair after her work. I was trying to look into getting extensions at PDX hair because I've heard a lot about it from online and people I know. When I tried to look into the website, it wasn't working. I sent a message on Facebook to let them know their website was not working and if there was anywhere else I could look to for more info (pricing, services, etc). I've visited this salon a few times. Penelope always does such a good job with the cut and color. I have a pixie cut, so although they specialize in extensions, Penelope always gives me a great texturized and edgy cut. She really knows how to frame my face. I have a lot of hair even with a short hair cut. Despite that, I have the perfect platinum blonde and my pixie is slick. I highly recommend this salon. read more

So Kim doesn't reveal the fact that she's doing keratin bond extensions and just called them her own thing. They were more expensive because they are supposed to be better for your hair. She never gave any care instructions and the quality of the actual hair wasn't the best. A bunch of them came out over the fews months I had them and they never really looked right. During removal so much of my own hair came out that I cannot even get another set. She didn't color match or style the hair other than a quick trim with no styling. I'm almost bald in some places and my hair was super super damaged. I wouldn't go here again my hair is destroyed and I'm super disappointed. I heard from another stylist these extensions are actually super harsh on your hair. Be warned. :( read more
