Neighborhood store. Don't park in front, because backing up onto 6th is asking for it. Walk in if the carved Indian has been put outside. Watch your step, since floors aren't level. No buffet walking, no matter how excited you are about drinkin.' Very efficient and stoic man is there to help. Best to know what you're looking for to avoid the sigh. Buy lots of wine here. Not the cheapest place in town with so many deals to be had from here to HEB, but courteous dude at the front will throw in a discount. Feels great shopping in here and it's a great location for Clarksville and downtown residents, and anyone heading west towards Mopac, Tarrytown and beyond. read more

I love nothing better than happy accidents. I found this Wiggy's trying to get to the other Wiggy's. This one is on Lamar right at 11th. This couldn't be more convenient for me. It's definitely a small store (it's a 1/3 the size of the 6th street location I was told), but it has a lot of selection. What I loved about the place, the man behind the counter. He was very helpful and I think for the first time EVER in a liquor store was steered towards the less expensive of items I asked for opinions on. The other thing (which I'm beginning to think is a Clarksville thing) he told me if there was anything they didn't stock that I wanted to tell him. So soon there will be Blue Coat Gin at this location. Dare I ask him to stock Yuengling the next time I'm in? ; P read more

It doesn't have the best selection I've ever seen, but it has character. The guy at the counter is friendly (BIG PLUS) and knowledgeable about the items in the store. He can recommend based on taste, price or what you are going to use it for. This kind of information makes it easy to buy booze - even for an occasional drinker like myself. They have parking out front reserved for Wiggy's which makes it easy to get in and out when you are in a hurry. read more

Yes it has character. It does remind me that I am in Austin. It has a very nice location. The exterior is adorable, its a real eye catcher. Makes me feel like an old Italian villa (perhaps Mexican is more regionally appropriate). Then you enter the store and its cozy, quaint and very reminiscent in size and stature of said villa. It is enjoyable to be inside poking your nose around wonderful beverages. They really make the shopping experience something pleasant. Now they need to get more booze. I have mentioned this place is small, well so is its selection. They just don't have that much booze. Compared to other liquor stores in town they just can't compete. On top of that their prices aren't very competitive nor have I ever seen a 'sale'. Sure I can usually find something to purchase there and they do have some obscure items. All in all nice place to shop in, great vibe, smaller selection of liquor and uncompetitive prices. read more

The selection was less than ideal (they didn't have Miami lights in stock) but the manager was extremely helpful and chatty with all the customers. He suggested a less expensive, pink version of Hpnotiq and offered to cut the few cigars I bought. The wooden Indian gets the fourth star. read more

Ramteen is an epicly hospitable and knowledgeable staff member, was able to make a stellar recommendation that was a perfect blend of delicious as well as a fit for my allergetic friend. Wiggy's on N. Lamar has definitely turned some corners over the past couple of years or so since they closed and consolidated from their historic W. 6th flagship location. A rad selection of wine, mezcal, tequila and especially rum keeps me coming back....plus the friendly old-Austin vibe with chit-chat, shop talk and hospitality. The owner John, manager Ryan and other full-timer Jon, keep the shop stocked, packed and clean. Pound for pound, for a store of its smaller size, Wiggy's is definitely a jewel in the Clarksville neighborhood by downtown Austin. Oh, and plenty of parking! read more

I haven't had a chance to do much a price comparison with the other liquor stores here in town since I moved here, but the prices seemed to be pretty average. I was impressed with the selection - though this location is small, they use the space well. I'd also like to give props to the guy at the counter - very helpful and happy to do so. He informed me that Wiggy's delivers - $5.00 anywhere in the city, no minimum purchase. That's reason enough for me to spend my money here! UPDATE: I found out the $5 thing isn't necessarily true - it's only if you're in the immediate area. From 6th to my place on 22nd Street, it was a $12 delivery charge - but still, I'm not complaining. It saved me a lot of time and hassle, not to mention back pain from carrying all the cases I ordered.... read more

I've shopped the 6th street store forever, but was in the neighborhood of this Wiggy's at Christmas and wanted to buy my husband an awesome bottle of Scotch. Apparently I got the one Wiggy's employee who could give a shit about helping a customer - he was on the phone the whole time I was in the shop, and never acknowledged my existence. I perused the Scotch section for at least 15 minutes, and finally selected a bottle on my own. When I went to check out, the employee was finally off the phone and I asked him if he'd tried this bottle. His reply? "I don't like Scotch." Gee... thanks for the help. Small location, but cozy interior. Very nice looking for a liquor store. Fairly good selection of hard liquors at normal prices. (That is, not particularly cheap but not over-priced either.) Zero selection of 12-packs of beer, and mostly local 6 packs. Really: nothing to write home about. I would go if it was within walking distance, but not for any other reason. read more

This place was good, helpful, and didn't mind that I had my puppy with me (I held her the whole time, but it was 90 out and I didn't want to leave her in the car!) As mentioned before, the place doesn't have a huge selection and it is extremely small. If more then 7 people are in this store you are feeling cramped. The cashier was questionable as well. He verbally gave me a price and collected the money...never saw him scan the item or ring me up. He was talking on his cell the entire time, I felt that was a bit rude because I had a question. I've been in here once before years ago. Seems like they have more of a selection now then before. Still pricey though. Unless you live in walking distance, I think the extra 7 min drive to Specs is the way to go. read more

Guy scanned my id with a sketchy app on his phone and said, "Sorry man, I'm gonna have to trust the app" I looked up the app and found nothing but bad reviews on faulty readings of ID's. The customer service is fucking horrible. I walked in and the I felt very threatened to buy Something. After he scanned my id and threw it back at me he threatened to call the police if I didn't leave his store. Will never be going back to this store and hope nobody else does. There is a sentenial liquor store right down the street, I would recommend going there. read more

I don't usually write reviews but this place was horrible absolutely horrible. I'm a man of drinking age and I went and got my Liqour and took it the counter like I've done for the past year of being 21. I hand this employee my ID. He said its fake?!. "I've been trained to spot these". IT WAS MY STATE ISSUED ID. I admit I'm a young looking guy but for God sake all I want is to give these people business and this horrible and downright disrespectful employee just automatically assumed that I wasn't of age and made me feel awful.
