Cute salon inside and bright since the storefront is all windows in front. Parking is easy to find…read morein their private lot. The stylists inside are all friendly. I was there with an appointment to see Nicki for a haircut and style. This salon accepts walk ins too. This time I opted for embracing my curls and having her cut the back with more layers to show my curls and layer it more. She usually straightens it with a blow dryer. This time she used a diffuser. I also get a color touch up and she is great about discussing the color options with you by bringing out her book of color. Please note that since this place takes walk ins, that means that your color process with Nicki may take more time if she accepts a walk in while you are waiting for your color to saturate your hair. If you don't like waiting for her to finish someone else who walked in during your appt, then do not get started with her. Maybe there's another stylist there who doesn't do this but it does ruin the "salon, relaxing experience" when you watch someone else get out the door before you who came in after you without an appt! Nicki was able to quicly get the walk in done in the nick of time, however, this is not always the case. Just tell her ahead of time that you do not like this being done and I'm sure she will work with you somehow. My curly cut turned out good, my color was just right and I would recommend Nicki but being that she's a caring professional who wants to stay busy, tell her in advance about your expectations and you'll receive the best outcome.

In my 35 years of life I have never not ever cried in the chair…read more I'm new to the area so I've been looking for a new stylist. I saw some reviews for Madison and how she was good with blonde and blending. So I booked with her, mind you it's my birthday this weekend and I'm hosting thanksgiving. My appointment is at 12:30 I arrive at 12:27. There was a girl on her phone outside that I made eye contact with (which was Madison). I was greeted by another stylist and she told me Madison was just finishing up and would be out soon. She came in and didn't come out until 12:37 she greets me and asks me how I'm doing but immediately turns around and sprints back to her area. She then immediately asks me if I have plans for thanksgiving which I thought was kind of odd, almost like they're scripted questions they have to ask. Then she finally asks me what I want for my hair- I tell her I'm low maintenance and just looking to go dirty blonde- my hair is yellow blonde and 3/4 down on my hair and gray on top. This appointment was booked for a full hair color btw. So I tell her and then she tells me that I would see my roots more so I asked what she recommended and she told me that I should do grey blending. But then was like " ok let me go mix your color" OK.... I also showed her a picture of what I wanted and reiterated I wanted dirty blonde. Madison came back and we started chatting a bit, but again scripted questions not genuine getting to know my client questions. Madison mentioned how I have a lot of hair(key to later) I noticed how she never sectioned my hair to color just left it all down and kept parting it- weird... the conversation stopped and she chatted with her coworker. The chair had been turned away from the mirror the whole time so I never saw the color she was using. Then she used foils for some pieces of hair. When she was done she told me she was going to let me sit and be back, I was suprised because she left all the foils laying on my face with color on them. She didn't check on me at all but then came back to take me to the wash area. She tells me to sit down and that if I wanted to put my feet up to pull the lever...myself.... Ok..I ask her then if she's going to be able to get the color off my face she acted like she didn't know and say oh yea it's should come off. She starts washing and I could tell something was wrong because she kept searching through my hair and stopping. Then proceeds to tell me that my some of my hair didn't take the color because of my grey.. no, you just didn't sectioned my hair and do it properly. So I say again in the bowl laying down with color on my hair. When that was done she wrapped my hair in the turban to the point I could not see my hair yet. When I sat down in the chair she said that my chair had to face away from the mirror because of she cord. So again couldn't not see my hair. Now again I have THICK CURLYISH hair, she starts brushing my hair super rough and basically yanking my head to the side. She says " your hairs curly" and I ask her if she's worked with curly hair before because she didn't add any product to my hair. She proceeds to keep brushing roughly basically breaking my hair and I guess hoping the knot unravels eventually? Madison starts to blow dry my hair- doesn't section it at all has it all laying flat down- didn't even ask me what side my part is on just started blow drying my hair flat. I've never had a stylist do this. After 30 minutes she turns me around and says " it's a little dark huh" and fluffing my hair as if she was done. I was so upset, my hair looked awful, dry and still DAMP!! I told her "I'm going to be honest with you, my hair looks awful and it's still damp?!" She says " well I'm not done yet I was just showing you, I'm going to curl it" MY HAIR IS STILL DAMP. Madison doesn't care that I was upset but then offers " I can put highlights in if you want" my hair is 2-3 shades darker than I wanted it brown!! I would not ever trust her to touch my hair so I said no. She goes back to blow drying the SAME WAY!! I start crying out of frustration. No sectioning no parting nothing just keeps brushing it down and blowing on it, brushing so hard on my scalp over and over and over. So so bad. She used the curling iron at this point and all the curls fell completely flat because my hair was still damp! She says I'm done and meet you up front. Then she says something to the girl up front and they both look at me walking up. She hands me her phone to pay and then says have a nice day! Do not go to Madison!! She needs training, she needs to shadow a seasoned stylist this was such an awful experience and she could have cared less. She was distracted the whole time and didn't even focus on me- my one day of pampering before my birthday and she ruined it. Now my hair is brown and will have to pay more to fix it back to blonde. I didn't even get full head of color just root touch up and toner!! Such a joke.

Sweet stylist, but color missed the mark…read more I really wanted to love this experience -- Mikayla is warm, friendly, and gave me a haircut I genuinely love. Unfortunately the color didn't land where we discussed, which is why I can't give more stars. I came in with specific inspiration photos for a soft, blended beige brunette balayage -- something lived-in that would grow out with no harsh lines. The result came out much chunkier and lighter than expected, with a pretty defined line at the roots that's especially noticeable when I pull my hair back. When I reached out, Mikayla was responsive and offered a correction with a root smudge and toner, which I appreciated. My hesitation was that those are exactly the techniques that would have achieved the look I originally asked for -- so it was hard to feel confident a redo would get me there. I asked twice why those techniques were not included as part of the initial service and both times my question was dodged with the offering of coming in for correction. More coloring isn't something I feel comfortable with while I deal with fragile postpartum hair. I asked if a partial refund was possible as a middle ground and unfortunately we weren't able to work something out.

I made an appointed to have my hair styled this morning. Today is the day of my baby shower and I'm too heavily pregnant to comfortable do my own hair...plus, mama wanted to be pampered a bit, you know? So I called yesterday and asked for an appointment. I was given Donald's number and told to reach out to him. I texted him and described exactly what I wanted: my hair straightened with soft curls added. He responded that he could take me, and we had a plan set for 10am today. I got to VIP before 10am and waited. Donald was late. Okay...no biggie...it happens. I get it. He sat me down and I told him again what I wanted. He worked in silence, beginning to straighten my hair. Mind you, it was about 10:10 by the time he started...and another woman walked in and asked him if he could give her a haircut. He told her yeah and they agreed on 10:30...which was confusing. He still had my style to do though? I figured he knew what he was doing so I didn't say anything. I was really uncomfortable because the lady was just sitting there staring at me, waiting for me to be done. Donald straightened my hair, and did a poor job of it. Which I was expecting; most stylists, when they put curls in my hair, don't make my hair pin-straight. But instead of continuing, he pulled off my cape thing and told me it would be $25. I just looked at him like...excuse me? And then he had the nerve to ask me how much I wanted to give him as a tip since I was using my card. I spoke up and told him that what he'd done was not what we talked about either via text OR when I sat down, and I wasn't happy. I was actually damn near in tears. I looked awful! All he did was vaguely gesture to my hair and tell me "it has a slight curve". Infuriated beyond words and waaaay to pregnant to tactfully handle the situation any further, and because I no longer trusted him, I paid him the $25 and left. I ended up going right around the corner to Salon Michelle, where the owner took me in instantly and fixed the hack job Donald had done. Had he listened to me in the first place, that would have avoided my bad experience. And had he listened to me when I told him he hadn't done what we'd talked about...if he had even TRIED to correct it instead of trying to convince me that my eyes weren't seeing a bad hair job...if he had even just apologized, and not rushed me for a walk in...this situation and my business could have been salvaged. Instead, he ignored me, did a bad rush job on me, took my money anyway, and sent a very pregnant, very stressed out woman away disappointed. I won't ever go back to him or VIP.
