When I arrived, she informed me that she only performs dry cuts and that most of her clients simply get a cut and leave. I told her that was fine, as long as she could ensure the cut was accurate. She clarified that she does not wash and style hair afterward, but that a wash and blow‑dry is included if requested. She did not section my hair at all. She cut it straight across while dry, which is not standard practice--an experienced stylist will still section properly even when dry cutting. The entire cut took about fifteen minutes, and I could immediately see that the right side was longer than the left. When I pointed this out, she insisted it was even, claiming she had "measured" it and that the difference was due to my part and the way my bangs were cut. She repeatedly tried to convince me--at times aggressively--that the cut was even, and suggested having another stylist confirm it. I agreed. She was unable to find another stylist, so she brought over a male manager who is not a stylist. He said it looked even, clearly repeating what she had told him beforehand. She then brought over another male employee, stating he was a stylist, who also said it looked even without touching my hair. He suggested she could cut more, but I declined, as I did not want her to continue cutting my hair. A different manager eventually checked me out. I paid $52 for a haircut that was uneven and poorly executed--something anyone off the street could have done. Her behavior was dismissive, overly forceful, and bordered on bullying. It is no surprise that multiple clients had canceled or no‑showed with her. Despite telling her I only wanted a trim, she also tried to persuade me into a different cut. Based on this experience, I will not return to Ulta in Lodi. As I was walking out the manager Mercedes could even see that my hair was uneven. Stylist pure laziness and in a hurry, after all it is Friday night.

He was taking care of the drive through, filling prescriptions, and managing the walk up counter and he did it with efficiency, knowledge, and kindness. The whole experience made me feel like I traveled back in time to a time when people knew each other and cared about each other. I was just traveling through but I felt as taken care of as the regular costumers. I was sad to hear he will be retiring in December, even though my hometown pharmacy is in SoCal. Although the consultant was pleasant, the rest of the experience fell short. A trainee improperly sewed the top of my new wig and tore a hole in it, requiring a total replacement. Alterations took far longer than promised despite my upcoming travel plans, and no styling was done after the adjustments were completed. Because the replacement wig now has to be mailed to me after I leave, I will not be receiving any of the custom fitting or styling I paid for. Management should look into their process, as staff seem stretched thin when handling custom alterations and repairs.
