Came here with a guest and we both agreed it was time for some good old-fashioned chili dog decadence. And while the review certainly didn't reflect this as being a place to come to, that was quickly turned around by CSA Customer stomer service All Star Omar. Omar was great for a number of reasons, but principal among them was the fact that he directed my guest and I to another special deal that had it not been for him, we would have paid more and gotten less. The pictures may or may not do these justice, but when I tell you things came out hot like oven hot, it was delicious. Used their drive thru service and they got my order wrong. Simple order of no mustard but ketchup only. Luckily we were still in the parking lot. We turned around, but management needs to know that they messed up. Their polish dog sandwich is not good at all as are their fries. Don't waste your money. read more

It was clean inside and relaxing. They were playing Better of Without You by Mia Vale. Totally empty inside too, a great place to come chill while stoned. It is more expensive than Taco Bell next door, but they do have a veggie dog which is fine for vegans without modification, and another one which you only have to remove the cheese from. Above average fast food, but unfortunately fast food nation wide has relatively lower value these days. I'd like to see them improve and offer more vegan options. Personal Transparency: I grew up riding my bike with a childhood best friend Michael to the Wienerschnitzel down Carson Street. It's a small, old school built one with a very small dining room and drive thru.......; SO.... knowing that THIS particular Wienerschnitzel in the Harbor Gateway area is much larger and with a way bigger strip mall that is shared with a pretty good Taco Bell and normal Walmart...; is kind of cool to me. The NOW: The parking lot is a plus, their restroom isn't the best, but it's decent for a damn Wienerschnitzel. I was laughing at how you had to have special instructions to lock one of the doors, but it is what it is. Their staff was mostly consisted of a nice mixed variety of young workers who seem as if they want to actually work to pay for their expensive iPhones and Harry Styles concerts or whatever the hell them kids are into these days. The young Black lady with glasses helped me and she had a great personality doing so. Man! I got my food pretty damn fast! My order was a 6 piece jalapeño poppers and a regular size chili bacon ranch fries for a nostalgia mixed with present kind of meal. For what I paid, it wasn't bad at all and if you actually keep those coupons you get in the mail, you can actually get food cheaper here like back in the days too still!!! Very very cool! Honestly so disappointed, went to this location cause it's right by my work. When I pulled into the drive thru there were only 2 cars in front, the first was done by the time I ordered but the 2 car was such a long wait, I finally pull up and got my stuff fairly quick.. however, I got the mango lemonade that taste nothing like lemonade, taste like an ice tea.. I also ordered a 12p jalapeño poppers, which o normally don't considering they're like $8/9 but got them to share with co workers.. basically just gave me a box of the shells of the poppers! It was one of those bizarre days. I woke up and thought, "Huh, I haven't had Wienerschintzel for DECADES." It has been a long while, and although I remember it not being that great, I couldn't remember what any of their products tasted like. We were a party of 3 in the car and although car mates initially didn't show any interest, they decided as soon as we got to the drive through that they were gonna partake in it. One, like me, hasn't had it for decades, and the other has never been. Didn't feel like a hotdog so I went for a regular chili cheeseburger and an order of chili cheese tater scoops. The rest of my party went for a Chicago dog, another chili cheeseburger and chili cheese fries. VERDICT: it wasn't bad! The chili isn't salty nor did it have beans (CHILI SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEANS!) Fries under all the cheese and chili was pretty crispy and my burger, although not the greatest, was also good. What I liked most about it is that it wasn't drenched in chili. It had just the right dollop. Presentation was a fail, but then again, I didn't expect much. FOOD: 3.5. SERVICE: 4. Long line at the drive thru but we got outta there quicker than I expected. VALUE: 3.5. $20 for everything. PARKING: N/A (came by via drive thru.) OVERALL: 3.75. You hear stories of how their quality isn't even at par, or that generally it isn't that great. On Nov. 15, 2023 at 3:07pm my bf and I went to the drive-thru for some chili dogs after shopping at Walmart before heading home. There was a young latina girl working the drive thru window who took our order (which came to $13.95). My bf paid her with cash - a $20 bill.  She took the money and gave him a $5 bill and a nickel for change, but she didn't give his receipt. Me and the bf said nothing, we just looked at each other with raised eyebrows and waited until after she gave our food; then asked her for the receipt. She looked a little surprised when he asked, then she stepped away to a different register to print it. The receipt showed that our change should have been $6.05 not $5.05! So she kept a dollar and tried to withhold the receipt hoping we wouldn't notice - but we did. It didn't seem like a big deal at the time but after thinking about it, if she's stealing $1 from every cash paying customer during each shift she works, she's bringing home quite a bit of extra cash. So just a warning: if you go to  Wienerschnitzel #704 on 190th & Normandie (in the Walmart parking lot), Make sure you get your receipt (and check it closely) and count your change or you just might get ripped off too. Of course she can't short- change you if you pay with a debit or credit card, but that's a whole nother risk. Anyway, I hope the manager sees this and does the right thing because prices are already too high, we don't need shady workers helping themselves to our leftovers (aka change). read more

So I wanted a veggie dog. I wanted to grab a hotdog hop on the freeway and get on with lunch. I was maybe third or fourth in line by the time I ordered and that's enough time to get hot food. I'm trying the backyard veggie dogs. I usually only get the bbq veggie but I'm feeling adventurous. so I order then wait for two vehicles ahead then I pay at the window but then there's still a slight delay. I get food and pull over so I can get everything situated. I noticed the cheese is not melted. OK visually that's a turn off. Oh but then I noticed the bottom of the box is not warm, I lift up the hotdog and it's hardly warm. Now I'm wondering what did they do, Just run the hotdogs through hot water and put it in a bun. Now I gotta nuke it myself when I get back to work. I'm not going back over there because I'm practicing patience and kindness towards others and I don't want to be the one caught on the news climbing through the drive-through window. All beef dogs are now $1.50 more. (Used to be $1.) The last 2x I went, my dog tasted old and seemed dried up. Those visits were weeks apart, so why? Surely there's a time limit on how long food is allowed to sit there after being cooked? Anyone out there know? Plus, the last time I went, I asked for an extra ranch for my jalapeno poppers. It's always a pleasure to visit this particular location. Not only is the food a treat but the staff is very friendly and attentive. Overall great customer service! It is conveniently located on the corner of this Walmart shopping center and it is well groomed. The landscaping is impressive and it makes the restaurant look very welcoming. But that means there is inside seating. They also have a drive-thru. Oh and plenty of parking. As far as the food; the all-beef hot dogs are pretty good. I don't mess with the regular dogs. Went here and ordered. I realized that the coupon i ordered with was expired. The girl(Ana?) who took my order said it would be fine, when i get to the window different story. Long story short: BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Long story long... Today I entered the drive thru to order. A woman named Karen began to take my order asking me a seemingly canned question about ordering the new fish. I responded no to ordering, then asked when did you begin serving fish. I got no response, but I was asked how can I be helped. Pondering between the regular chili cheese dog and the angus beef versions for about 3 seconds, I began to order. At the same time she began to state, "Let me know when you're ready." I paused because I was ready and ordering. After a 2-second pause she proceeded to question, "Are you ready?" I responded with yes. She said with an attitude masked by a chipper voice, "Then how can I help you?" I responded, "You know what, I'm coming inside." I backed out the drive thru and proceeded inside. There was a gentleman waiting before me. After about 5 minutes of employees walking back and forth seemingly to restock cup holders, a woman "Vanessa" finally stated, "I will be with you in a second." After another 5 minutes of watching, the gentleman before me walked away disgruntled having never ordered. I was lied to the register and asked for the manager. Vanessa stayed that Francisco was out but she was in charge. I described to her my terrible experience both in the drive thru and inside and she rolled her eyes. I then asked her for the drive thru person's name and she stated Karen. I asked how to spell it, and received another sarcastic eye roll seeming to demean my intelligence, as if there aren't multiple ways for a name to have been spelled. I'm pretty anal when it comes to customer service. Yes you heard it. If it's worth commenting, I go out of my way to say what needs to be heard good or bad. Don't know what the complaints are about, but I've been going here for many many years. Every single time, has been an exceptional experience. I've been here different shifts, different times, different days, and the customer service is consistent. They know their products very well, very attentive, friendly, and on point with getting the order correct, and responds to whatever the customer needs. They've been many late night visits as well and I can remember one gentleman who was very very nice and very patient. It was late, and still provided great customer service. Tonight, was another pleasant visit. Miguel working the shift this evening KNEW HIS PRODUCT. He got everything down on point. Well, if you like Wienerschnitzel, you'll like this place. Why? Well, because they have chili cheese dogs, of course! So why 3 starts instead of 4 or 5? Well, it's in a so-so neighborhood, the parking spaces are tight, the inside is a bit dated and the bathrooms could use an overhaul. If you'd prefer not to go inside, they do have a drive thru so that would eliminate most of the negatives. Don't get me wrong, they keep the place clean but there's only so much you can do with older decor. But, the food is good and tastes like every other good Wienerschnitzel out there. They also have the Tastee Freeze inside so you can get ice cream for dessert if you're not full from all the chili cheese dogs and chili cheese fries. All that being said, if I'm in the area and craving a chili cheese dog, I'm going back and I'm eating inside. Too good and too messy to eat in the car, at least if you like a clean car. Came here to pick up lunch since the one i always go to was closed due to a break in the night before and the police were doing their stuff today. This place however is located in the same location as Walmart and other fast food joints so traffic can be a pain as well as parking and the one big pain is when exiting one of the major exit driveways you can only turn right onto 190th and no turn on red as well. The one good thing about this one is they have a drive thru which moves pretty quick. Overall not a bad place but during lunch hours especially during the work week it can be busy and traffic a pain. read more
